Deuteronomy 21장

1 If someone is found slain in the land which Yahweh your God gives you to possess, lying in the field, and it isn’t known who has struck him,If one be found slain in the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee to possess it, lying in the field, and it be not known who hath smitten him;여호와 네 하나님께서 네게 주어 차지하게 하시는 땅에서, 누가 죽였는지 알 수 없는 살해된 시신이 들판에 쓰러져 있거든,

2 then your elders and your judges shall come out, and they shall measure to the cities which are around him who is slain.then thy elders and thy judges shall come forth, and they shall measure unto the cities which are round about him that is slain:너의 장로들과 재판관들이 나아가서, 그 살해된 사람 주변에 있는 성읍들까지의 거리를 재어라.

3 It shall be that the elders of the city which is nearest to the slain man shall take a heifer of the herd, which hasn’t been worked with and which has not drawn in the yoke.and it shall be, that the city which is nearest unto the slain man, even the elders of that city shall take a heifer of the herd, which hath not been wrought with, and which hath not drawn in the yoke;그래서 그 살해된 사람에게 가장 가까운 성읍이 정해지면, 그 성읍의 장로들은 아직 부려 쓴 적이 없고 멍에를 메고 끌어 본 적이 없는 암송아지 한 마리를 끌어다가,

4 The elders of that city shall bring the heifer down to a valley with running water, which is neither plowed nor sown, and shall break the heifer’s neck there in the valley.and the elders of that city shall bring down the heifer unto a valley with running water, which is neither plowed nor sown, and shall break the heifer’s neck there in the valley.그 성읍의 장로들이 그 암송아지를, 갈지도 씨를 뿌리지도 않은, 물이 흐르는 골짜기로 끌고 내려가, 거기 골짜기에서 그 암송아지의 목을 꺾어라.

5 The priests the sons of Levi shall come near, for them Yahweh your God has chosen to minister to him, and to bless in Yahweh’s name; and according to their word shall every controversy and every assault be decided.And the priests the sons of Levi shall come near; for them Jehovah thy God hath chosen to minister unto him, and to bless in the name of Jehovah; and according to their word shall every controversy and every stroke be.레위의 아들인 제사장들도 가까이 나아오게 하라. 여호와 네 하나님께서 그들을 택하여 자신을 섬기게 하시고 여호와의 이름으로 축복하게 하셨으니, 모든 다툼과 모든 폭행 사건은 그들의 말에 따라 처리되어야 한다.

6 All the elders of that city which is nearest to the slain man shall wash their hands over the heifer whose neck was broken in the valley.And all the elders of that city, who are nearest unto the slain man, shall wash their hands over the heifer whose neck was broken in the valley;그 살해된 사람에게 가장 가까운 그 성읍의 모든 장로는 골짜기에서 목이 꺾인 그 암송아지 위에서 손을 씻고,

7 They shall answer and say, “ Our hands have not shed this blood, neither have our eyes seen it.and they shall answer and say, Our hands have not shed this blood, neither have our eyes seen it.이렇게 말하여라. "우리 손은 이 피를 흘리지 않았고, 우리 눈은 그 일을 보지도 못하였습니다.

8 Forgive, Yahweh, your people Israel, whom you have redeemed, and don’t allow innocent blood among your people Israel.” The blood shall be forgiven them.Forgive, O Jehovah, thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and suffer not innocent blood to remain in the midst of thy people Israel. And the blood shall be forgiven them.여호와여, 주께서 속량하신 주의 백성 이스라엘을 용서하시고, 주의 백성 이스라엘 가운데 무죄한 피를 그냥 두지 마옵소서." 그리하면 그 피흘린 죄가 그들에게서 용서될 것이다.

9 So you shall put away the innocent blood from among you, when you shall do that which is right in Yahweh’s eyes.So shalt thou put away the innocent blood from the midst of thee, when thou shalt do that which is right in the eyes of Jehovah.이렇게 네가 여호와 보시기에 옳은 일을 행할 때에, 너는 무죄한 피를 너의 가운데서 제거하게 될 것이다.

10 When you go out to battle against your enemies, and Yahweh your God delivers them into your hands and you carry them away captive,When thou goest forth to battle against thine enemies, and Jehovah thy God delivereth them into thy hands, and thou carriest them away captive,네가 네 원수들과 싸우려고 나갔을 때에, 여호와 네 하나님께서 그들을 네 손에 넘겨 주셔서, 네가 그들을 포로로 사로잡아 왔는데,

11 and see among the captives a beautiful woman, and you are attracted to her, and desire to take her as your wife,and seest among the captives a beautiful woman, and thou hast a desire unto her, and wouldest take her to thee to wife;그 포로들 가운데 아름다운 여인을 보고 그 여인에게 마음이 끌려, 그를 아내로 삼고자 하거든,

12 then you shall bring her home to your house. She shall shave her head and trim her nails.then thou shalt bring her home to thy house; and she shall shave her head, and pare her nails;너는 그를 네 집으로 데려와라. 그러면 그 여인은 자기 머리를 밀고 손톱을 깎으며,

13 She shall take off the clothing of her captivity, and shall remain in your house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month. After that you shall go in to her and be her husband, and she shall be your wife.and she shall put the raiment of her captivity from off her, and shall remain in thy house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month: and after that thou shalt go in unto her, and be her husband, and she shall be thy wife.자기가 포로로 잡혀올 때 입었던 옷을 벗고 네 집에 머물면서, 자기 아버지와 어머니를 위하여 한 달을 슬피 울 것이다. 그 후에야 네가 그 여인에게 들어가 그의 남편이 되고, 그 여인은 네 아내가 될 것이다.

14 It shall be, if you have no delight in her, then you shall let her go where she desires; but you shall not sell her at all for money. You shall not deal with her as a slave, because you have humbled her.And it shall be, if thou have no delight in her, then thou shalt let her go whither she will; but thou shalt not sell her at all for money, thou shalt not deal with her as a slave, because thou hast humbled her.그러나 만일 네가 그 여인을 기뻐하지 않게 되거든, 그를 원하는 곳으로 가게 하여라. 너는 그를 결코 돈을 받고 팔지 말며, 노예처럼 함부로 다루지 말라. 이는 네가 그를 욕보였기 때문이다.

15 If a man has two wives, the one beloved and the other hated, and they have borne him children, both the beloved and the hated, and if the firstborn son is hers who was hated,If a man have two wives, the one beloved, and the other hated, and they have borne him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if the first-born son be hers that was hated;어떤 사람에게 두 아내가 있는데, 하나는 사랑을 받고 다른 하나는 미움을 받았으며, 사랑받는 아내와 미움받는 아내가 모두 그에게 자식을 낳았는데, 만일 맏아들이 미움받는 아내의 소생이거든,

16 then it shall be, in the day that he causes his sons to inherit that which he has, that he may not give the son of the beloved the rights of the firstborn before the son of the hated, who is the firstborn;then it shall be, in the day that he causeth his sons to inherit that which he hath, that he may not make the son of the beloved the first-born before the son of the hated, who is the first-born:그가 자기 소유를 아들들에게 상속시키는 날에, 미움받는 아내의 아들인 진짜 맏아들을 제쳐두고 사랑받는 아내의 아들을 맏아들로 삼아서는 안 된다.

17 but he shall acknowledge the firstborn, the son of the hated, by giving him a double portion of all that he has; for he is the beginning of his strength. The right of the firstborn is his.but he shall acknowledge the first-born, the son of the hated, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath; for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the first-born is his.도리어 그는 미움받는 아내의 아들을 맏아들로 인정하여 자기의 모든 소유 가운데 두 몫을 그에게 주어야 한다. 그는 아버지의 기력의 시작이니, 맏아들의 권리가 그에게 있다.

18 If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and though they chasten him, will not listen to them,If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, that will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and, though they chasten him, will not hearken unto them;어떤 사람에게 고집 세고 반항하는 아들이 있어, 자기 아버지의 말이나 어머니의 말에 순종하지 않고, 그들이 징계하여도 그 말을 듣지 않거든,

19 then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city and to the gate of his place.then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;그의 아버지와 어머니가 그를 붙잡아, 그 성읍의 장로들에게로, 그 동네의 성문으로 끌고 가서,

20 They shall tell the elders of his city, “ This our son is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey our voice. He is a glutton and a drunkard.”and they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.그 성읍의 장로들에게 이렇게 말하여라. "우리의 이 아들은 고집 세고 반항하여 우리의 말에 순종하지 않으며, 먹기를 탐하고 술에 빠진 자입니다."

21 All the men of his city shall stone him to death with stones. So you shall remove the evil from among you. All Israel shall hear, and fear.And all the men of his city shall stone him to death with stones: so shalt thou put away the evil from the midst of thee; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.그러면 그 성읍의 모든 사람이 그를 돌로 쳐서 죽게 하여라. 이렇게 너는 너의 가운데서 그 악을 제거할 것이요, 온 이스라엘이 듣고 두려워하게 될 것이다.

22 If a man has committed a sin worthy of death, and he is put to death, and you hang him on a tree,And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree;어떤 사람이 죽을 죄를 지어 처형을 당하여, 네가 그를 나무에 매달거든,

23 his body shall not remain all night on the tree, but you shall surely bury him the same day; for he who is hanged is accursed of God. Don’t defile your land which Yahweh your God gives you for an inheritance.his body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt surely bury him the same day; for he that is hanged is accursed of God; that thou defile not thy land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.그 시신을 밤새도록 나무 위에 두지 말고, 반드시 그 날에 묻어라. 나무에 매달린 자는 하나님께 저주받은 자이기 때문이다. 여호와 네 하나님께서 네게 기업으로 주시는 네 땅을 더럽히지 않게 하여라.
