1 He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray and not give up,And he spake a parable unto them to the end that they ought always to pray, and not to faint;예수께서는 그들에게 한 가지 비유를 들려주시며, 늘 기도하고 낙심하지 말아야 한다고 가르치셨다.
2 saying, “ There was a judge in a certain city who didn’ t fear God and didn’ t respect man.saying, There was in a city a judge, who feared not God, and regarded not man:"어떤 도시에 하나님을 두려워하지도 않고 사람을 존중하지도 않는 한 재판관이 있었다.
3 A widow was in that city, and she often came to him, saying, ‘Defend me from my adversary!’and there was a widow in that city; and she came oft unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.그 도시에 한 과부가 있었는데, 그녀는 자주 그를 찾아와 '내 원수에게서 나의 억울함을 풀어 주십시오!'라고 호소했다.
4 He wouldn’ t for a while; but afterward he said to himself, ‘ Though I neither fear God nor respect man,And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;그는 한동안 들어주지 않았으나, 나중에 속으로 이렇게 생각했다. '내가 하나님을 두려워하지도 않고 사람을 존중하지도 않지만,
5 yet because this widow bothers me, I will defend her, or else she will wear me out by her continual coming.’”yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest she wear me out by her continual coming.이 과부가 나를 성가시게 하니, 그녀의 억울함을 풀어 주겠다. 그렇지 않으면 그녀가 계속 찾아와 나를 지치게 할 것이다.'"
6 The Lord said, “Listen to what the unrighteous judge says.And the Lord said, Hear what the unrighteous judge saith.주께서 말씀하셨다. "이 불의한 재판관이 하는 말을 들어 보아라.
7 Won’ t God avenge his chosen ones who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them?And shall not God avenge his elect, that cry to him day and night, and yet he is longsuffering over them?하물며 하나님께서 밤낮으로 부르짖는 자기 택하신 자들의 억울함을 풀어 주지 않으시겠느냐? 그들에게 오래 참으시겠느냐?
8 I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”I say unto you, that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?내가 너희에게 말한다. 하나님께서 속히 그들의 억울함을 풀어 주실 것이다. 그러나 인자가 올 때에, 그가 이 땅에서 믿음을 보겠느냐?"
9 He also spoke this parable to certain people who were convinced of their own righteousness, and who despised all others:And he spake also this parable unto certain who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and set all others at nought:예수께서는 스스로 의롭다고 확신하며 다른 모든 사람을 멸시하는 어떤 사람들에게도 이 비유를 말씀하셨다.
10 “ Two men went up into the temple to pray; one was a Pharisee, and the other was a tax collector.Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican."두 사람이 기도하러 성전에 올라갔다. 한 사람은 바리새파 사람이었고, 다른 한 사람은 세리였다.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed by himself like this: ‘ God, I thank you that I am not like the rest of men: extortionists, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.바리새파 사람은 서서 이렇게 속으로 기도했다. '하나님, 감사합니다. 저는 다른 사람들, 곧 강탈하는 자나 불의한 자나 간음하는 자와 같지 않으며, 이 세리와도 같지 않습니다.
12 I fast twice a week. I give tithes of all that I get.’I fast twice in the week; I give tithes of all that I get.저는 일주일에 두 번 금식하며, 얻는 모든 것의 십일조를 드립니다.'
13 But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn’ t even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his chest, saying, ‘ God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’But the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote his breast, saying, God, be thou merciful to me a sinner.그러나 세리는 멀찍이 서서 감히 하늘을 향해 눈도 들지 못하고, 가슴을 치며 말했다. '하나님, 죄인인 저에게 긍휼을 베풀어 주십시오!'
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”I say unto you, This man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be humbled; but he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.내가 너희에게 말한다. 이 사람이 저 사람보다 의롭다 인정받고 자기 집으로 내려갔다. 누구든지 자기를 높이는 자는 낮아지고, 자기를 낮추는 자는 높아질 것이다."
15 They were also bringing their babies to him, that he might touch them. But when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.And they were bringing unto him also their babes, that he should touch them: but when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.사람들이 또 자기 아기들을 예수께 데려와 만져 주시기를 바랐다. 그러나 제자들이 이를 보고 그들을 꾸짖었다.
16 Jesus summoned them, saying, “Allow the little children to come to me, and don’ t hinder them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these.But Jesus called them unto him, saying, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for to such belongeth the kingdom of God.예수께서 아이들을 부르시며 말씀하셨다. "어린아이들이 내게 오는 것을 허락하고 막지 말아라. 하나님 나라는 이런 사람들의 것이다.
17 Most certainly, I tell you, whoever doesn’ t receive God’s Kingdom like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.”Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall in no wise enter therein.내가 진실로 너희에게 말한다. 누구든지 어린아이처럼 하나님 나라를 받아들이지 않으면, 결코 그 나라에 들어가지 못할 것이다."
18 A certain ruler asked him, saying, “ Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?어떤 관리가 예수께 물었다. "선한 선생님, 제가 무엇을 해야 영생을 얻겠습니까?"
19 Jesus asked him, “ Why do you call me good? No one is good, except one: God.And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, even God.예수께서 그에게 물으셨다. "어찌하여 나를 선하다고 하느냐? 하나님 한 분 외에는 선한 이가 없다.
20 You know the commandments: ‘Don’ t commit adultery,’ ‘Don’ t murder,’ ‘Don’ t steal,’ ‘Don’ t give false testimony,’ ‘ Honor your father and your mother.’”Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor thy father and mother.너는 계명을 알고 있다. '간음하지 말라', '살인하지 말라', '도둑질하지 말라', '거짓 증언하지 말라', '네 아버지와 어머니를 공경하라.'"
21 He said, “ I have observed all these things from my youth up.”And he said, All these things have I observed from my youth up.그가 말했다. "이 모든 것을 저는 어려서부터 다 지켜 왔습니다."
22 When Jesus heard these things, he said to him, “ You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute it to the poor. Then you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.”And when Jesus heard it, he said unto him, One thing thou lackest yet: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.예수께서 이 말을 들으시고 그에게 말씀하셨다. "너에게 아직 한 가지 부족한 것이 있다. 네가 가진 모든 것을 팔아 가난한 사람들에게 나누어 주어라. 그리하면 하늘에서 보화를 얻을 것이다. 그리고 와서 나를 따르라."
23 But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was very rich.But when he heard these things, he became exceeding sorrowful; for he was very rich.그러나 그는 이 말을 듣고 몹시 슬퍼했다. 그가 매우 부유했기 때문이다.
24 Jesus, seeing that he became very sad, said, “ How hard it is for those who have riches to enter into God’ s Kingdom!And Jesus seeing him said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!예수께서 그가 몹시 슬퍼하는 것을 보시고 말씀하셨다. "재물을 가진 자들이 하나님 나라에 들어가기가 얼마나 어려운가!
25 For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter into God’s Kingdom.”For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.부자가 하나님 나라에 들어가는 것보다 낙타가 바늘귀로 들어가는 것이 더 쉽다."
26 Those who heard it said, “ Then who can be saved?”And they that heard it said, Then who can be saved?이 말을 들은 사람들이 말했다. "그러면 누가 구원을 받을 수 있겠습니까?"
27 But he said, “ The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”But he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.예수께서 말씀하셨다. "사람으로서는 불가능한 일이 하나님께는 가능하다."
28 Peter said, “ Look, we have left everything and followed you.”And Peter said, Lo, we have left our own, and followed thee.베드로가 말했다. "보십시오, 저희는 모든 것을 버리고 주님을 따랐습니다."
29 He said to them, “ Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children, for God’s Kingdom’s sake,And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or wife, or brethren, or parents, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake,예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "내가 진실로 너희에게 말한다. 하나님 나라를 위하여 집이나 아내나 형제나 부모나 자녀를 버린 사람은,
30 who will not receive many times more in this time, and in the world to come, eternal life.”who shall not receive manifold more in this time, and in the world to come eternal life.이 세상에서 여러 배로 받고, 또 오는 세상에서 영생을 받을 것이다."
31 He took the twelve aside and said to them, “ Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written through the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be completed.And he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written through the prophets shall be accomplished unto the Son of man.예수께서 열두 제자를 따로 데리고 가셔서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "보아라, 우리가 예루살렘으로 올라간다. 인자에 관하여 선지자들을 통해 기록된 모든 일이 다 이루어질 것이다.
32 For he will be delivered up to the Gentiles, will be mocked, treated shamefully, and spit on.For he shall be delivered up unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and shamefully treated, and spit upon:인자는 이방 사람들에게 넘겨져 조롱을 당하고 모욕을 받으며 침 뱉음을 당할 것이다.
33 They will scourge and kill him. On the third day, he will rise again.”and they shall scourge and kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.그들은 그를 채찍질하고 죽일 것이나, 그는 사흘째 되는 날에 다시 살아날 것이다."
34 They understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they didn’ t understand the things that were said.And they understood none of these things; and this saying was hid from them, and they perceived not the things that were said.그러나 제자들은 이 일들을 하나도 깨닫지 못했다. 이 말씀이 그들에게 감추어져 있어서, 그들은 하신 말씀을 이해하지 못했다.
35 As he came near Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the road, begging.And it came to pass, as he drew nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:예수께서 여리고에 가까이 이르셨을 때, 한 눈먼 사람이 길가에 앉아 구걸하고 있었다.
36 Hearing a multitude going by, he asked what this meant.and hearing a multitude going by, he inquired what this meant.그는 무리가 지나가는 소리를 듣고 이게 무슨 일인지 물었다.
37 They told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by.사람들이 그에게 나사렛 예수께서 지나가신다고 일러 주었다.
38 He cried out, “ Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me!”And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.그가 큰 소리로 외쳤다. "예수여, 다윗의 자손이여, 저에게 긍휼을 베풀어 주십시오!"
39 Those who led the way rebuked him, that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “ You son of David, have mercy on me!”And they that went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried out the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.앞서가던 사람들이 조용히 하라고 그를 꾸짖었으나, 그는 더욱 큰 소리로 외쳤다. "다윗의 자손이여, 저에게 긍휼을 베풀어 주십시오!"
40 Standing still, Jesus commanded him to be brought to him. When he had come near, he asked him,And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him,예수께서 걸음을 멈추시고 그를 데려오라고 명하셨다. 그가 가까이 오자 예수께서 그에게 물으셨다.
41 “ What do you want me to do?” He said, “ Lord, that I may see again.”What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight."네가 무엇을 해 주기를 바라느냐?" 그가 대답했다. "주님, 제가 다시 보게 해 주십시오."
42 Jesus said to him, “ Receive your sight. Your faith has healed you.”And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath made thee whole.예수께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. "다시 보아라. 네 믿음이 너를 낫게 하였다."
43 Immediately he received his sight and followed him, glorifying God. All the people, when they saw it, praised God.And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.그러자 그는 곧 다시 보게 되었고, 하나님께 영광을 돌리며 예수를 따랐다. 이를 본 모든 사람도 하나님을 찬양했다.
