They abandoned Yahweh, and didn’t serve him.And the children of Israel again did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and served the Baalim, and the Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Sidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines; and they forsook Jehovah, and served him not.이스라엘 자손이 또다시 여호와께서 보시기에 악한 일을 행하여 바알들과 아스다롯과 시리아의 신들과 시돈의 신들과 모압의 신들과 암몬 자손의 신들과 블레셋 사람들의 신들을 섬겼다. 그들은 여호와를 저버리고 그분을 섬기지 않았다.
7 Yahweh’s anger burned against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of the Philistines and into the hand of the children of Ammon.And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the children of Ammon.여호와께서 이스라엘을 향해 진노하셔서 그들을 블레셋 사람들의 손과 암몬 자손의 손에 넘기셨다.
8 They troubled and oppressed the children of Israel that year. For eighteen years they oppressed all the children of Israel that were beyond the Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.And they vexed and oppressed the children of Israel that year: eighteen years oppressed they all the children of Israel that were beyond the Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.그해에 그들이 이스라엘 자손을 괴롭히고 압제하였으니, 길르앗에 있는 아모리 사람들의 땅 곧 요단 강 건너편에 사는 모든 이스라엘 자손을 열여덟 해 동안 압제하였다.
9 The children of Ammon passed over the Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim, so that Israel was very distressed.And the children of Ammon passed over the Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim; so that Israel was sore distressed.암몬 자손이 또 요단 강을 건너와 유다와 베냐민과 에브라임 족속과도 싸우니, 이스라엘이 심히 괴로움을 당하였다.
10 The children of Israel cried to Yahweh, saying, “ We have sinned against you, even because we have forsaken our God, and have served the Baals.”And the children of Israel cried unto Jehovah, saying, We have sinned against thee, even because we have forsaken our God, and have served the Baalim.이스라엘 자손이 여호와께 부르짖어 말하였다. "우리가 우리 하나님을 저버리고 바알들을 섬겨 주께 죄를 지었습니다."
11 Yahweh said to the children of Israel, “Didn’t I save you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?And Jehovah said unto the children of Israel, Did not I save you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?여호와께서 이스라엘 자손에게 말씀하셨다. "내가 이집트 사람들과 아모리 사람들과 암몬 자손과 블레셋 사람들에게서 너희를 구원하지 않았느냐?
12 The Sidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, oppressed you; and you cried to me, and I saved you out of their hand.The Sidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, did oppress you; and ye cried unto me, and I saved you out of their hand.또 시돈 사람들과 아말렉 사람들과 마온 사람들이 너희를 압제할 때에 너희가 내게 부르짖으므로, 내가 너희를 그들의 손에서 구원하였다.
13 Yet you have forsaken me and served other gods. Therefore I will save you no more.Yet ye have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will save you no more.그런데도 너희는 나를 저버리고 다른 신들을 섬겼다. 그러므로 내가 다시는 너희를 구원하지 않겠다.
14 Go and cry to the gods which you have chosen. Let them save you in the time of your distress!”Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them save you in the time of your distress.너희가 택한 신들에게 가서 부르짖어라. 너희가 환난을 당할 때에 그들이 너희를 구원하게 하라!"
15 The children of Israel said to Yahweh, “ We have sinned! Do to us whatever seems good to you; only deliver us, please, today.”And the children of Israel said unto Jehovah, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto thee; only deliver us, we pray thee, this day.이스라엘 자손이 여호와께 말하였다. "우리가 죄를 지었으니, 주께서 보시기에 좋으실 대로 우리에게 행하소서. 다만 오늘 우리를 건져 주소서."
16 They put away the foreign gods from among them and served Yahweh; and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.And they put away the foreign gods from among them, and served Jehovah; and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.그러고 나서 그들이 자기들 가운데서 이방의 신들을 없애 버리고 여호와를 섬겼다. 여호와께서는 이스라엘의 고통을 보시고 마음 아파하셨다.
17 Then the children of Ammon were gathered together and encamped in Gilead. And the children of Israel assembled themselves together, and encamped in Mizpah.그때에 암몬 자손이 함께 모여 길르앗에 진을 쳤고, 이스라엘 자손도 함께 모여 미스바에 진을 쳤다.
18 The people, the princes of Gilead, said to one another, “ Who is the man who will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? He shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.”And the people, the princes of Gilead, said one to another, What man is he that will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? he shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.길르앗의 백성과 지도자들이 서로 말하였다. "누가 먼저 나가 암몬 자손과 싸우겠느냐? 그가 길르앗의 모든 주민의 머리가 될 것이다."
