1 After many days, when Yahweh had given rest to Israel from their enemies all around, and Joshua was old and well advanced in years,And it came to pass after many days, when Jehovah had given rest unto Israel from all their enemies round about, and Joshua was old and well stricken in years;여호와께서 이스라엘을 사방의 모든 원수들에게서 벗어나 안식을 누리게 하신 지 여러 날이 지났고, 여호수아도 나이가 많아 늙었습니다.
2 Joshua called for all Israel, for their elders and for their heads, and for their judges and for their officers, and said to them, “ I am old and well advanced in years.that Joshua called for all Israel, for their elders and for their heads, and for their judges and for their officers, and said unto them, I am old and well stricken in years:그래서 여호수아가 온 이스라엘과 그 장로들과 우두머리들과 재판관들과 관리들을 불러 모으고 그들에게 말했습니다. "나는 이제 나이가 많아 늙었습니다.
3 You have seen all that Yahweh your God has done to all these nations because of you; for it is Yahweh your God who has fought for you.and ye have seen all that Jehovah your God hath done unto all these nations because of you; for Jehovah your God, he it is that hath fought for you.여호와 여러분의 하나님께서 여러분 때문에 이 모든 민족들에게 행하신 일을 여러분이 다 보았습니다. 여러분을 위해 친히 싸우신 분이 바로 여호와 여러분의 하나님이십니다.
4 Behold, I have allotted to you these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from the Jordan, with all the nations that I have cut off, even to the great sea toward the going down of the sun.Behold, I have allotted unto you these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from the Jordan, with all the nations that I have cut off, even unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun.보십시오, 내가 남아 있는 이 민족들을 요단강에서부터 해 지는 쪽 대해에 이르기까지, 내가 이미 멸한 모든 민족들과 함께 여러분의 지파들에게 기업으로 나누어 주었습니다.
5 Yahweh your God will thrust them out from before you, and drive them from out of your sight. You shall possess their land, as Yahweh your God spoke to you.And Jehovah your God, he will thrust them out from before you, and drive them from out of your sight; and ye shall possess their land, as Jehovah your God spake unto you.여호와 여러분의 하나님께서 그들을 여러분 앞에서 몰아내시고 여러분의 눈앞에서 쫓아내실 것입니다. 그러면 여호와 여러분의 하나님께서 여러분에게 말씀하신 대로 여러분이 그들의 땅을 차지하게 될 것입니다.
6 “ Therefore be very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that you not turn away from it to the right hand or to the left;Therefore be ye very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right hand or to the left;그러므로 여러분은 모세의 율법책에 기록된 모든 것을 지키고 행하기에 아주 담대하여, 그것에서 좌로나 우로나 치우치지 마십시오.
7 that you not come among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow down yourselves to them;that ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow down yourselves unto them;여러분 가운데 남아 있는 이 민족들과 어울리지 말고, 그들의 신들의 이름을 부르지도 말며, 그 이름으로 맹세하게 하지도 말고, 그것들을 섬기지도 말며, 그것들에게 절하지도 마십시오.
8 but hold fast to Yahweh your God, as you have done to this day.but cleave unto Jehovah your God, as ye have done unto this day.오직 여러분이 오늘까지 해 온 것처럼 여호와 여러분의 하나님을 굳게 붙드십시오.
9 “ For Yahweh has driven great and strong nations out from before you. But as for you, no man has stood before you to this day.For Jehovah hath driven out from before you great nations and strong: but as for you, no man hath stood before you unto this day.여호와께서 크고 강한 민족들을 여러분 앞에서 쫓아내셨으니, 오늘까지 아무도 여러분 앞에 맞서 설 수 없었습니다.
10 One man of you shall chase a thousand; for it is Yahweh your God who fights for you, as he spoke to you.One man of you shall chase a thousand; for Jehovah your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he spake unto you.여러분 가운데 한 사람이 천 명을 쫓을 것입니다. 이는 여호와 여러분의 하나님께서 여러분에게 말씀하신 대로 친히 여러분을 위해 싸우시기 때문입니다.
11 Take good heed therefore to yourselves, that you love Yahweh your God.Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love Jehovah your God.그러므로 여러분은 스스로 깊이 조심하여 여호와 여러분의 하나님을 사랑하십시오.
12 “ But if you do at all go back, and hold fast to the remnant of these nations, even these who remain among you, and make marriages with them, and go in to them, and they to you;Else if ye do at all go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations, even these that remain among you, and make marriages with them, and go in unto them, and they to you;그러나 만일 여러분이 돌이켜, 여러분 가운데 남아 있는 이 민족들의 남은 자들을 붙들고, 그들과 혼인하여 서로 오가며 어울린다면,
13 know for a certainty that Yahweh your God will no longer drive these nations from out of your sight; but they shall be a snare and a trap to you, a scourge in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from off this good land which Yahweh your God has given you.know for a certainty that Jehovah your God will no more drive these nations from out of your sight; but they shall be a snare and a trap unto you, and a scourge in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which Jehovah your God hath given you.여호와 여러분의 하나님께서 더 이상 이 민족들을 여러분의 눈앞에서 쫓아내지 않으실 것을 분명히 아십시오. 도리어 그들은 여러분에게 올무와 덫이 되고, 여러분의 옆구리를 치는 채찍이 되며, 여러분의 눈에 가시가 되어, 여호와 여러분의 하나님께서 여러분에게 주신 이 좋은 땅에서 여러분이 멸망하기까지 이를 것입니다.
14 “ Behold, today I am going the way of all the earth. You know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which Yahweh your God spoke concerning you. All have happened to you. Not one thing has failed of it.And, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which Jehovah your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, not one thing hath failed thereof.보십시오, 나는 오늘 온 세상이 가는 길로 갑니다. 여호와 여러분의 하나님께서 여러분에 관하여 말씀하신 모든 선한 일 가운데 하나도 어긋난 것이 없음을 여러분은 마음과 영혼으로 다 알고 있습니다. 모든 일이 여러분에게 이루어졌고, 그중 하나도 어긋나지 않았습니다.
15 It shall happen that as all the good things have come on you of which Yahweh your God spoke to you, so Yahweh will bring on you all the evil things, until he has destroyed you from off this good land which Yahweh your God has given you,And it shall come to pass, that as all the good things are come upon you of which Jehovah your God spake unto you, so will Jehovah bring upon you all the evil things, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which Jehovah your God hath given you.그런데 여호와 여러분의 하나님께서 여러분에게 말씀하신 모든 선한 일이 여러분에게 임한 것처럼, 만일 여러분이 어긋나면 여호와께서 모든 재앙을 여러분에게 내리셔서, 여호와 여러분의 하나님께서 여러분에게 주신 이 좋은 땅에서 여러분을 멸하시기까지 이르게 하실 것입니다.
16 when you disobey the covenant of Yahweh your God, which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods, and bow down yourselves to them. Then Yahweh’s anger will be kindled against you, and you will perish quickly from off the good land which he has given to you.”When ye transgress the covenant of Jehovah your God, which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods, and bow down yourselves to them; then will the anger of Jehovah be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which he hath given unto you.여러분이 여호와 여러분의 하나님께서 여러분에게 명하신 그분의 언약을 어기고, 다른 신들에게 가서 섬기며 그것들에게 절한다면, 여호와의 진노가 여러분을 향하여 타오를 것이며, 여러분은 그분이 여러분에게 주신 좋은 땅에서 속히 멸망할 것입니다."
