1 Now after the death of Moses the servant of Yahweh, Yahweh spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ servant, saying,Now it came to pass after the death of Moses the servant of Jehovah, that Jehovah spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying,여호와의 종 모세가 죽은 뒤에, 여호와께서 모세의 시종이던 눈의 아들 여호수아에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다.
2 “ Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go across this Jordan, you and all these people, to the land which I am giving to them, even to the children of Israel.Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel."내 종 모세가 죽었다. 그러니 이제 일어나 너와 이 모든 백성과 함께 이 요단강을 건너, 내가 그들 곧 이스라엘 자손에게 주는 그 땅으로 들어가거라.
3 I have given you every place that the sole of your foot will tread on, as I told Moses.Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, to you have I given it, as I spake unto Moses.내가 모세에게 말한 대로, 너희 발바닥이 밟는 곳은 어디든지 다 너희에게 주었다.
4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon even to the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your border.From the wilderness, and this Lebanon, even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your border.광야와 이 레바논에서부터 큰 강 곧 유프라테스강과 헷 사람의 온 땅을 지나, 해 지는 쪽 큰 바다에 이르기까지가 너희 경계가 될 것이다.
5 No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not fail you nor forsake you.There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee; I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.네 평생에 너를 당해 낼 사람이 아무도 없을 것이다. 내가 모세와 함께했던 것처럼 너와도 함께하겠다. 내가 너를 떠나지도 않고 버리지도 않을 것이다.
6 “ Be strong and courageous; for you shall cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.Be strong and of good courage; for thou shalt cause this people to inherit the land which I sware unto their fathers to give them.강하고 담대하여라. 너는 이 백성에게, 내가 그들의 조상에게 주겠다고 맹세한 그 땅을 유산으로 차지하게 할 사람이다.
7 Only be strong and very courageous. Be careful to observe to do according to all the law which Moses my servant commanded you. Don’t turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.Only be strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest have good success whithersoever thou goest.오직 강하고 매우 담대하여, 내 종 모세가 네게 명령한 모든 율법을 지켜 행하여라. 거기에서 오른쪽으로도 왼쪽으로도 벗어나지 말아라. 그래야 네가 어디로 가든지 잘될 것이다.
8 This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate thereon day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.이 율법책이 네 입에서 떠나지 않게 하고, 밤낮으로 그것을 묵상하여, 그 안에 기록된 모든 것을 지켜 행하여라. 그리하면 네 길이 형통하고, 네가 잘될 것이다.
9 Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go.”Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not affrighted, neither be thou dismayed: for Jehovah thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.내가 네게 명령하지 않았느냐? 강하고 담대하여라. 두려워하지도 말고 놀라지도 말아라. 네가 어디로 가든지 네 하나님 여호와께서 너와 함께하신다."
10 Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,그러자 여호수아가 백성의 지도자들에게 이렇게 명령하였다.
11 “ Pass through the middle of the camp, and command the people, saying, ‘ Prepare food; for within three days you are to pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which Yahweh your God gives you to possess.’”Pass through the midst of the camp, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye are to pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which Jehovah your God giveth you to possess it."진영 가운데로 두루 다니며 백성에게 명령하여라. '먹을 양식을 준비하여라. 사흘 안에 너희가 이 요단강을 건너, 너희 하나님 여호와께서 너희에게 주어 차지하게 하시는 그 땅으로 들어가 차지하게 될 것이다.'"
12 Joshua spoke to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh, saying,And to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh, spake Joshua, saying,여호수아가 르우벤 지파와 갓 지파와 므낫세 반 지파에게 말하였다.
13 “ Remember the word which Moses the servant of Yahweh commanded you, saying, ‘ Yahweh your God gives you rest, and will give you this land.Remember the word which Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded you, saying, Jehovah your God giveth you rest, and will give you this land."여호와의 종 모세가 너희에게 명령한 말씀을 기억하여라. 모세가 말하기를 '너희 하나님 여호와께서 너희에게 안식을 주시고 이 땅도 너희에게 주실 것이다' 하였다.
14 Your wives, your little ones, and your livestock shall live in the land which Moses gave you beyond the Jordan; but you shall pass over before your brothers armed, all the mighty men of valor, and shall help themYour wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall abide in the land which Moses gave you beyond the Jordan; but ye shall pass over before your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valor, and shall help them;너희 아내들과 어린아이들과 가축은 모세가 너희에게 준 요단강 동쪽 땅에 머물게 하고, 너희 가운데 용맹한 용사들은 모두 무장하고 너희 형제들보다 앞서 건너가 그들을 도와라.
15 until Yahweh has given your brothers rest, as he has given you, and they have also possessed the land which Yahweh your God gives them. Then you shall return to the land of your possession and possess it, which Moses the servant of Yahweh gave you beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise.’”until Jehovah have given your brethren rest, as he hath given you, and they also have possessed the land which Jehovah your God giveth them: then ye shall return unto the land of your possession, and possess it, which Moses the servant of Jehovah gave you beyond the Jordan toward the sunrising.마침내 여호와께서 너희에게 하신 것처럼 너희 형제들에게도 안식을 주셔서, 그들도 너희 하나님 여호와께서 그들에게 주시는 그 땅을 차지하게 될 것이다. 그런 다음에야 너희는 여호와의 종 모세가 요단강 동쪽 해 뜨는 쪽에서 너희에게 준 너희 소유의 땅으로 돌아가 그것을 차지하여라."
16 They answered Joshua, saying, “ All that you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go.And they answered Joshua, saying, All that thou hast commanded us we will do, and whithersoever thou sendest us we will go.그들이 여호수아에게 대답하였다. "당신이 우리에게 명령하신 모든 것을 우리가 행하겠고, 어디로 보내시든지 우리가 가겠습니다.
17 Just as we listened to Moses in all things, so will we listen to you. Only may Yahweh your God be with you, as he was with Moses.According as we hearkened unto Moses in all things, so will we hearken unto thee: only Jehovah thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses.우리가 모든 일에 모세에게 순종한 것처럼, 당신에게도 순종하겠습니다. 다만 당신의 하나님 여호와께서 모세와 함께하셨던 것처럼 당신과도 함께하시기를 바랍니다.
18 Whoever rebels against your commandment, and doesn’t listen to your words in all that you command him shall himself be put to death. Only be strong and courageous.”Whosoever he be that shall rebel against thy commandment, and shall not hearken unto thy words in all that thou commandest him, he shall be put to death: only be strong and of good courage.누구든지 당신의 명령을 거역하고 당신이 명령하신 모든 말씀에 순종하지 않는 자는 죽임을 당할 것입니다. 오직 강하고 담대하십시오."
