1 Joshua got up early in the morning; and they moved from Shittim and came to the Jordan, he and all the children of Israel. They camped there before they crossed over.And Joshua rose up early in the morning; and they removed from Shittim, and came to the Jordan, he and all the children of Israel; and they lodged there before they passed over.여호수아가 아침 일찍 일어났고, 그와 모든 이스라엘 자손이 싯딤을 떠나 요단강에 이르렀습니다. 그들은 강을 건너기 전에 거기서 묵었습니다.
2 After three days, the officers went through the middle of the camp;And it came to pass after three days, that the officers went through the midst of the camp;사흘 후에 지휘관들이 진영 한가운데를 지나가며
3 and they commanded the people, saying, “ When you see the ark of Yahweh your God’s covenant, and the Levitical priests bearing it, then leave your place and follow it.and they commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of Jehovah your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and go after it.백성에게 명령하여 말했습니다. "여러분이 여러분의 하나님 여호와의 언약궤와 그것을 메고 가는 레위 사람 제사장들을 보거든, 여러분이 있던 자리를 떠나 그 뒤를 따라가십시오.
4 Yet there shall be a space between you and it of about two thousand cubits by measure —don’t come closer to it — that you may know the way by which you must go; for you have not passed this way before.”Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure: come not near unto it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go; for ye have not passed this way heretofore.그러나 여러분과 언약궤 사이에 이천 규빗쯤 거리를 두고, 가까이 다가가지 마십시오. 그래야 여러분이 가야 할 길을 알 수 있습니다. 여러분은 전에 이 길을 가 본 적이 없기 때문입니다."
5 Joshua said to the people, “ Sanctify yourselves; for tomorrow Yahweh will do wonders among you.”And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves; for to-morrow Jehovah will do wonders among you.여호수아가 백성에게 말했습니다. "여러분 자신을 거룩하게 하십시오. 내일 여호와께서 여러분 가운데 놀라운 일들을 행하실 것입니다."
6 Joshua spoke to the priests, saying, “ Take up the ark of the covenant, and cross over before the people.” They took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people.And Joshua spake unto the priests, saying, Take up the ark of the covenant, and pass over before the people. And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people.여호수아가 제사장들에게 말했습니다. "언약궤를 메고 백성 앞서 건너가십시오." 그러자 그들이 언약궤를 메고 백성 앞에서 나아갔습니다.
7 Yahweh said to Joshua, “ Today I will begin to magnify you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.And Jehovah said unto Joshua, This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee.여호와께서 여호수아에게 말씀하셨습니다. "오늘 내가 온 이스라엘이 보는 앞에서 너를 크게 높이기 시작하겠다. 내가 모세와 함께했던 것처럼 너와도 함께할 것을 그들이 알게 하려 함이다.
8 You shall command the priests who bear the ark of the covenant, saying, ‘ When you come to the brink of the waters of the Jordan, you shall stand still in the Jordan.’”And thou shalt command the priests that bear the ark of the covenant, saying, When ye are come to the brink of the waters of the Jordan, ye shall stand still in the Jordan.너는 언약궤를 멘 제사장들에게 명령하여 이렇게 말하여라. '너희가 요단강 물가에 이르거든, 요단강 안에 가만히 서 있어라.'"
9 Joshua said to the children of Israel, “ Come here, and hear the words of Yahweh your God.”And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, Come hither, and hear the words of Jehovah your God.여호수아가 이스라엘 자손에게 말했습니다. "이리로 와서 여러분의 하나님 여호와의 말씀을 들으십시오."
10 Joshua said, “ By this you shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Hivite, the Perizzite, the Girgashite, the Amorite, and the Jebusite out from before you.And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Hivite, and the Perizzite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Jebusite.여호수아가 말했습니다. "이로써 살아 계신 하나님이 여러분 가운데 계시며, 그분이 가나안 사람과 헷 사람과 히위 사람과 브리스 사람과 기르가스 사람과 아모리 사람과 여부스 사람을 여러분 앞에서 반드시 쫓아내실 것을 여러분이 알게 될 것입니다.
11 Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passes over before you into the Jordan.Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passeth over before you into the Jordan.보십시오, 온 땅의 주의 언약궤가 여러분 앞서 요단강으로 건너갑니다.

13 It shall be that when the soles of the feet of the priests who bear the ark of Yahweh, the Lord of all the earth, rest in the waters of the Jordan, that the waters of the Jordan will be cut off. The waters that come down from above shall stand in one heap.”And it shall come to pass, when the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of Jehovah, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, that the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off, even the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand in one heap.온 땅의 주이신 여호와의 언약궤를 멘 제사장들의 발바닥이 요단강 물에 잠기면, 위에서 흘러내려 오던 요단강 물이 끊어지고 한 더미로 멈추어 설 것입니다."
14 When the people moved from their tents to pass over the Jordan, the priests who bore the ark of the covenant being before the people,And it came to pass, when the people removed from their tents, to pass over the Jordan, the priests that bare the ark of the covenant being before the people;백성이 요단강을 건너려고 자기 장막에서 떠날 때, 언약궤를 멘 제사장들이 백성 앞에 섰습니다.
15 and when those who bore the ark had come to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark had dipped in the edge of the water ( for the Jordan overflows all its banks all the time of harvest ),and when they that bare the ark were come unto the Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brink of the water ( for the Jordan overfloweth all its banks all the time of harvest ),언약궤를 멘 사람들이 요단강에 이르러, 그 궤를 멘 제사장들의 발이 물가에 잠기자 — 요단강은 추수기 내내 모든 둑을 넘쳐 흐르고 있었습니다 —
16 the waters which came down from above stood, and rose up in one heap a great way off, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan; and those that went down toward the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, were wholly cut off. Then the people passed over near Jericho.that the waters which came down from above stood, and rose up in one heap, a great way off, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan; and those that went down toward the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, were wholly cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.위에서 흘러내려 오던 물이 멈추어 한 더미로 솟아올랐는데, 멀리 사르단 곁에 있는 도시 아담까지 이르렀습니다. 그리고 아라바 바다 곧 소금 바다 쪽으로 흘러내려 가던 물은 완전히 끊어졌습니다. 그리하여 백성이 여리고 맞은편으로 건넜습니다.
17 The priests who bore the ark of Yahweh’s covenant stood firm on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan; and all Israel crossed over on dry ground, until all the nation had passed completely over the Jordan.And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of Jehovah stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan; and all Israel passed over on dry ground, until all the nation were passed clean over the Jordan.여호와의 언약궤를 멘 제사장들이 요단강 한가운데 마른 땅 위에 굳건히 섰고, 온 이스라엘이 마른 땅 위로 건너, 온 민족이 요단강을 완전히 다 건널 때까지 그렇게 서 있었습니다.
