1 This was the lot for the tribe of Manasseh, for he was the firstborn of Joseph. As for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead, because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan.And this was the lot for the tribe of Manasseh; for he was the first-born of Joseph. As for Machir the first-born of Manasseh, the father of Gilead, because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan.이것은 므낫세 지파를 위한 제비뽑기의 결과였는데, 므낫세는 요셉의 맏아들이었다. 므낫세의 맏아들이며 길르앗의 아버지인 마길은 용맹한 전사였으므로, 길르앗과 바산 땅을 차지하였다.
2 So this was for the rest of the children of Manasseh according to their families: for the children of Abiezer, for the children of Helek, for the children of Asriel, for the children of Shechem, for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida. These were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph according to their families.So the lot was for the rest of the children of Manasseh according to their families: for the children of Abiezer, and for the children of Helek, and for the children of Asriel, and for the children of Shechem, and for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida: these were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph according to their families.므낫세의 남은 자손들도 그들의 가문을 따라 땅을 받았다. 곧 아비에셀 자손과 헬렉 자손과 아스리엘 자손과 세겜 자손과 헤벨 자손과 스미다 자손이었으니, 이들은 요셉의 아들 므낫세의 남자 자손들로서 그 가문을 따른 것이다.
3 But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters. These are the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters: and these are the names of his daughters: Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.그런데 므낫세의 현손이요 마길의 증손이며 길르앗의 손자이고 헤벨의 아들인 슬로브핫에게는 아들이 없고 딸만 있었다. 그 딸들의 이름은 말라와 노아와 호글라와 밀가와 디르사였다.
4 They came to Eleazar the priest, and to Joshua the son of Nun, and to the princes, saying, “ Yahweh commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brothers.” Therefore according to the commandment of Yahweh he gave them an inheritance among the brothers of their father.And they came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, Jehovah commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren: therefore according to the commandment of Jehovah he gave them an inheritance among the brethren of their father.그 딸들이 제사장 엘르아살과 눈의 아들 여호수아와 지도자들 앞에 나아와 말하였다. "여호와께서 모세에게 명하시기를, 우리에게도 우리 형제들 가운데서 유산을 주라고 하셨습니다." 그래서 여호와의 명령을 따라 그들에게 그 아버지의 형제들 가운데서 유산을 주었다.
5 Ten parts fell to Manasseh, in addition to the land of Gilead and Bashan, which is beyond the Jordan;And there fell ten parts to Manasseh, besides the land of Gilead and Bashan, which is beyond the Jordan;이렇게 하여 요단강 건너편에 있는 길르앗과 바산 땅 외에도, 므낫세에게 열 몫이 돌아갔다.
6 because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons. The land of Gilead belonged to the rest of the sons of Manasseh.because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons. And the land of Gilead belonged unto the rest of the sons of Manasseh.이는 므낫세의 딸들이 그 아들들 가운데서 유산을 받았기 때문이다. 길르앗 땅은 므낫세의 남은 아들들에게 속하였다.
7 The border of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethath, which is before Shechem. The border went along to the right hand, to the inhabitants of En Tappuah.And the border of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethath, which is before Shechem; and the border went along to the right hand, unto the inhabitants of En-tappuah.므낫세의 경계는 아셀에서부터 세겜 앞에 있는 믹므다에까지 이르렀고, 그 경계는 오른쪽으로 나아가 엔답부아 주민들에게까지 이르렀다.
8 The land of Tappuah belonged to Manasseh; but Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim.The land of Tappuah belonged to Manasseh; but Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim.답부아 땅은 므낫세에게 속하였으나, 므낫세 경계에 있는 답부아 성읍은 에브라임 자손에게 속하였다.
9 The border went down to the brook of Kanah, southward of the brook. These cities belonged to Ephraim among the cities of Manasseh. The border of Manasseh was on the north side of the brook, and ended at the sea.And the border went down unto the brook of Kanah, southward of the brook: these cities belonged to Ephraim among the cities of Manasseh: and the border of Manasseh was on the north side of the brook, and the goings out thereof were at the sea:그 경계는 가나 시내로 내려가 그 시내의 남쪽에 이르렀다. 므낫세의 성읍들 가운데 이 성읍들은 에브라임에게 속하였다. 므낫세의 경계는 그 시내의 북쪽으로 나 있었고, 바다에서 끝났다.
10 Southward it was Ephraim’s, and northward it was Manasseh’s, and the sea was his border. They reached to Asher on the north, and to Issachar on the east.southward it was Ephraim’s, and northward it was Manasseh’s, and the sea was his border; and they reached to Asher on the north, and to Issachar on the east.남쪽은 에브라임의 것이고 북쪽은 므낫세의 것이었으며, 바다가 그 경계가 되었다. 그들은 북쪽으로 아셀에 닿았고 동쪽으로 잇사갈에 닿았다.
11 Manasseh had three heights in Issachar, in Asher Beth Shean and its towns, and Ibleam and its towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and its towns, and the inhabitants of Endor and its towns, and the inhabitants of Taanach and its towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and its towns.And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher Beth-shean and its towns, and Ibleam and its towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and its towns, and the inhabitants of En-dor and its towns, and the inhabitants of Taanach and its towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and its towns, even the three heights.잇사갈과 아셀 안에서 므낫세는 벧스안과 그 주변 마을들, 이블르암과 그 주변 마을들, 돌 주민과 그 주변 마을들, 엔돌 주민과 그 주변 마을들, 다아낙 주민과 그 주변 마을들, 므깃도 주민과 그 주변 마을들, 곧 이 세 언덕 지역을 차지하였다.
12 Yet the children of Manasseh couldn’t drive out the inhabitants of those cities; but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.Yet the children of Manasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities; but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.그러나 므낫세 자손은 그 성읍들의 주민을 쫓아내지 못하였고, 가나안 사람들은 그 땅에 그대로 머물러 살았다.
13 When the children of Israel had grown strong, they put the Canaanites to forced labor, and didn’t utterly drive them out.And it came to pass, when the children of Israel were waxed strong, that they put the Canaanites to taskwork, and did not utterly drive them out.이스라엘 자손이 강성해진 뒤에도 가나안 사람들을 강제 노역에 부렸을 뿐, 그들을 완전히 쫓아내지는 못하였다.
14 The children of Joseph spoke to Joshua, saying, “ Why have you given me just one lot and one part for an inheritance, since we are a numerous people, because Yahweh has blessed us so far?”And the children of Joseph spake unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me but one lot and one part for an inheritance, seeing I am a great people, forasmuch as hitherto Jehovah hath blessed me?요셉 자손이 여호수아에게 말하였다. "여호와께서 지금까지 저를 이렇게 복 주셔서 제가 큰 백성이 되었는데, 어찌하여 제게 제비뽑기 한 몫, 분깃 하나만 유산으로 주셨습니까?"
15 Joshua said to them, “ If you are a numerous people, go up to the forest, and clear land for yourself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the Rephaim, since the hill country of Ephraim is too narrow for you.”And Joshua said unto them, If thou be a great people, get thee up to the forest, and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the Rephaim; since the hill-country of Ephraim is too narrow for thee.여호수아가 그들에게 말하였다. "네가 큰 백성이라면 숲으로 올라가서, 브리스 사람과 르바임 사람의 땅을 너희를 위하여 개간하여라. 에브라임의 산지가 너희에게 좁다면 그렇게 하여라."
16 The children of Joseph said, “ The hill country is not enough for us. All the Canaanites who dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both those who are in Beth Shean and its towns, and those who are in the valley of Jezreel.”And the children of Joseph said, The hill-country is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both they who are in Beth-shean and its towns, and they who are in the valley of Jezreel.요셉 자손이 말하였다. "그 산지만으로는 우리에게 넉넉하지 못합니다. 게다가 골짜기 땅에 사는 모든 가나안 사람, 곧 벧스안과 그 주변 마을들에 있는 자들과 이스르엘 골짜기에 있는 자들에게는 철 병거가 있습니다."
17 Joshua spoke to the house of Joseph, that is, to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, “ You are a numerous people, and have great power. You shall not have one lot only;And Joshua spake unto the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, Thou art a great people, and hast great power; thou shalt not have one lot only:여호수아가 요셉의 집, 곧 에브라임과 므낫세에게 말하였다. "너는 큰 백성이며 큰 능력을 가졌으니, 제비뽑기 한 몫만 가지지 않을 것이다.
18 but the hill country shall be yours. Although it is a forest, you shall cut it down, and it’s farthest extent shall be yours; for you shall drive out the Canaanites, though they have chariots of iron, and though they are strong.”but the hill-country shall be thine; for though it is a forest, thou shalt cut it down, and the goings out thereof shall be thine; for thou shalt drive out the Canaanites, though they have chariots of iron, and though they are strong.그 산지가 네 것이 될 것이다. 비록 숲이라 할지라도 너는 그것을 개간할 것이며, 그 끝까지 모두 네 것이 될 것이다. 가나안 사람들이 철 병거를 가졌고 강할지라도, 너는 그들을 쫓아낼 것이다."
