1 When Jabin king of Hazor heard of it, he sent to Jobab king of Madon, to the king of Shimron, to the king of Achshaph,And it came to pass, when Jabin king of Hazor heard thereof, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,하솔 왕 야빈이 이 소식을 듣고 마돈 왕 요밥과 시므론 왕과 악삽 왕에게 사람을 보냈다.
2 and to the kings who were on the north, in the hill country, in the Arabah south of Chinneroth, in the lowland, and in the heights of Dor on the west,and to the kings that were on the north, in the hill-country, and in the Arabah south of Chinneroth, and in the lowland, and in the heights of Dor on the west,또 북쪽 산지와 긴네롯 남쪽 아라바와 평지와 서쪽 돌의 높은 지역에 있는 왕들에게도 보냈다.

6 Yahweh said to Joshua, “Don’t be afraid because of them; for tomorrow at this time, I will deliver them up all slain before Israel. You shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire.”And Jehovah said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them; for to-morrow at this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hock their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.여호와께서 여호수아에게 말씀하셨다. "그들 때문에 두려워하지 말라. 내일 이맘때에 내가 그들 모두를 이스라엘 앞에서 죽임을 당하게 하여 넘겨주겠다. 너는 그들의 말의 뒷다리 힘줄을 끊고 그들의 병거를 불로 태워라."
7 So Joshua came suddenly, with all the warriors, against them by the waters of Merom, and attacked them.So Joshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly, and fell upon them.그래서 여호수아가 모든 군사를 거느리고 메롬 물가에서 갑자기 그들을 덮쳐 공격하였다.
8 Yahweh delivered them into the hand of Israel, and they struck them, and chased them to great Sidon, and to Misrephoth Maim, and to the valley of Mizpah eastward. They struck them until they left them no one remaining.And Jehovah delivered them into the hand of Israel, and they smote them, and chased them unto great Sidon, and unto Misrephoth-maim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them none remaining.여호와께서 그들을 이스라엘의 손에 넘겨주셨으므로, 이스라엘이 그들을 쳐서 큰 시돈과 미스르봇마임과 동쪽으로 미스바 골짜기까지 쫓아가며 한 사람도 남기지 않고 모두 쳐 죽였다.
9 Joshua did to them as Yahweh told him. He hamstrung their horses and burned their chariots with fire.And Joshua did unto them as Jehovah bade him: he hocked their horses, and burnt their chariots with fire.여호수아는 여호와께서 명하신 대로 그들에게 행하여, 그들의 말의 뒷다리 힘줄을 끊고 그들의 병거를 불로 태웠다.
10 Joshua turned back at that time, and took Hazor, and struck its king with the sword; for Hazor used to be the head of all those kingdoms.And Joshua turned back at that time, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor beforetime was the head of all those kingdoms.그때 여호수아가 돌이켜 하솔을 빼앗고 그 왕을 칼로 쳐 죽였으니, 하솔은 전에 이 모든 나라의 우두머리였다.
11 They struck all the souls who were in it with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them. There was no one left who breathed. He burned Hazor with fire.And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them; there was none left that breathed: and he burnt Hazor with fire.그들이 성안에 있던 모든 사람을 칼날로 쳐서 진멸하니, 숨 쉬는 자가 하나도 남지 않았고, 여호수아는 하솔을 불로 태웠다.
12 Joshua captured all the cities of those kings, with their kings, and he struck them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of Yahweh commanded.And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and he smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed them; as Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded.여호수아가 그 왕들의 모든 성읍과 그 왕들을 모두 빼앗아 칼날로 쳐 진멸하였으니, 여호와의 종 모세가 명한 대로였다.
13 But as for the cities that stood on their mounds, Israel burned none of them, except Hazor only. Joshua burned that.But as for the cities that stood on their mounds, Israel burned none of them, save Hazor only; that did Joshua burn.그러나 언덕 위에 서 있던 성읍들은 이스라엘이 하나도 불사르지 않았고, 다만 하솔만 여호수아가 불태웠다.
14 The children of Israel took all the plunder of these cities, with the livestock, as plunder for themselves; but every man they struck with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them. They didn’t leave any who breathed.And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any that breathed.이스라엘 자손이 이 성읍들의 모든 노략물과 가축은 자기들이 차지하였으나, 사람은 모두 칼날로 쳐서 진멸하고 숨 쉬는 자를 하나도 남기지 않았다.
15 As Yahweh commanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua. Joshua did so. He left nothing undone of all that Yahweh commanded Moses.As Jehovah commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua: and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that Jehovah commanded Moses.여호와께서 그의 종 모세에게 명하신 것을 모세가 여호수아에게 명하였고, 여호수아가 그대로 행하였으니, 여호와께서 모세에게 명하신 모든 것 가운데 하나도 빠뜨리지 않았다.
16 So Joshua captured all that land, the hill country, all the South, all the land of Goshen, the lowland, the Arabah, the hill country of Israel, and the lowland of the same,So Joshua took all that land, the hill-country, and all the South, and all the land of Goshen, and the lowland, and the Arabah, and the hill-country of Israel, and the lowland of the same;이렇게 여호수아가 그 온 땅, 곧 산지와 모든 남쪽 땅과 고센 온 땅과 평지와 아라바와 이스라엘 산지와 그 평지를 빼앗았다.
17 from Mount Halak, that goes up to Seir, even to Baal Gad in the valley of Lebanon under Mount Hermon. He took all their kings, struck them, and put them to death.from mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and put them to death.세일로 올라가는 할락 산에서부터 헤르몬 산 아래 레바논 골짜기의 바알갓에 이르기까지였다. 여호수아가 그들의 모든 왕을 잡아 쳐 죽였다.

19 There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, except the Hivites, the inhabitants of Gibeon. They took all in battle.There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: they took all in battle.기브온 주민 히위 사람 외에는 이스라엘 자손과 화친한 성읍이 하나도 없었고, 이스라엘은 그 모두를 싸워서 빼앗았다.
20 For it was of Yahweh to harden their hearts, to come against Israel in battle, that he might utterly destroy them, that they might have no favor, but that he might destroy them, as Yahweh commanded Moses.For it was of Jehovah to harden their hearts, to come against Israel in battle, that he might utterly destroy them, that they might have no favor, but that he might destroy them, as Jehovah commanded Moses.이는 여호와께서 그들의 마음을 완고하게 하셔서 이스라엘을 대적하여 싸우게 하심으로, 그들이 은혜를 입지 못하고 진멸당하게 하시려는 것이었으니, 여호와께서 모세에게 명하신 대로였다.
21 Joshua came at that time, and cut off the Anakim from the hill country, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the hill country of Judah, and from all the hill country of Israel. 22 There were none of the Anakim left in the land of the children of Israel. 23 So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that Yahweh spoke to Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land had rest from war.이렇게 여호수아가 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하신 대로 그 온 땅을 빼앗고, 이스라엘 지파들의 분깃대로 그것을 기업으로 주었다. 그리하여 그 땅에 전쟁이 그치고 평온하였다.
