2 He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, yet not as the kings of Israel who were before him.And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, yet not as the kings of Israel that were before him.그는 여호와께서 보시기에 악한 일을 저질렀으나, 그 이전의 이스라엘 왕들만큼 심하지는 않았다.

9 The children of Israel secretly did things that were not right against Yahweh their God; and they built high places for themselves in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fortified city;And the children of Israel did secretly things that were not right against Jehovah their God: and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fortified city;이스라엘 백성은 그들의 하나님 여호와를 거슬러 옳지 못한 일들을 은밀히 행하였다. 그들은 망대로부터 견고한 성읍에 이르기까지 모든 성읍에 산당을 세웠다.
10 and they set up for themselves pillars and Asherah poles on every high hill and under every green tree;and they set them up pillars and Asherim upon every high hill, and under every green tree;또 높은 언덕마다, 푸른 나무 아래마다 돌기둥과 아세라 상을 세워 두었다.
11 and there they burned incense in all the high places, as the nations whom Yahweh carried away before them did; and they did wicked things to provoke Yahweh to anger;and there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the nations whom Jehovah carried away before them; and they wrought wicked things to provoke Jehovah to anger;그리고 여호와께서 그들 앞에서 쫓아내신 이방 사람들이 하던 것처럼, 모든 산당에서 분향하였다. 이렇게 그들은 악한 일을 행하여 여호와를 진노케 하였다.
12 and they served idols, of which Yahweh had said to them, “ You shall not do this thing.”and they served idols, whereof Jehovah had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing.그들은 우상을 섬겼는데, 여호와께서는 그들에게 "너희는 이런 일을 하지 말라"고 말씀하셨던 것이다.
13 Yet Yahweh testified to Israel and to Judah, by every prophet and every seer, saying, “ Turn from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.”Yet Jehovah testified unto Israel, and unto Judah, by every prophet, and every seer, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.그런데도 여호와께서는 모든 선지자와 모든 선견자를 통하여 이스라엘과 유다에게 증언하여 이르셨다. "너희는 악한 길에서 돌이켜, 내가 너희 조상에게 명령하고 또 내 종 선지자들을 통하여 너희에게 보낸 모든 율법대로 내 계명과 내 규례를 지키라."

16 They abandoned all the commandments of Yahweh their God, and made molten images for themselves, even two calves, and made an Asherah, and worshiped all the army of the sky, and served Baal.And they forsook all the commandments of Jehovah their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made an Asherah, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.그들은 그들의 하나님 여호와의 모든 계명을 버리고, 자기들을 위하여 부어 만든 우상, 곧 두 송아지 상을 만들고, 아세라 상을 만들었으며, 하늘의 모든 별을 숭배하고 바알을 섬겼다.

18 Therefore Yahweh was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight. There was none left but the tribe of Judah only.Therefore Jehovah was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.그러므로 여호와께서 이스라엘에게 심히 진노하시고, 그들을 그분 앞에서 내쫓으시니, 오직 유다 지파만 남게 되었다.
19 Also Judah didn’t keep the commandments of Yahweh their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.Also Judah kept not the commandments of Jehovah their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.그러나 유다도 그들의 하나님 여호와의 계명을 지키지 않고, 이스라엘이 만들어 낸 풍습을 따라 살았다.
20 Yahweh rejected all the offspring of Israel, afflicted them, and delivered them into the hands of raiders, until he had cast them out of his sight.And Jehovah rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.여호와께서 이스라엘의 모든 자손을 버리시고, 그들을 괴롭게 하시며, 약탈자들의 손에 넘겨주셔서, 마침내 그들을 그분 앞에서 내쫓으셨다.
21 For he tore Israel from David’s house; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king; and Jeroboam drove Israel from following Yahweh, and made them sin a great sin.For he rent Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drove Israel from following Jehovah, and made them sin a great sin.여호와께서 이스라엘을 다윗의 집에서 찢어 떼어내시니, 그들이 느밧의 아들 여로보암을 왕으로 삼았다. 그런데 여로보암은 이스라엘이 여호와를 따르지 못하게 하고, 그들로 큰 죄를 짓게 하였다.

23 until Yahweh removed Israel out of his sight, as he said by all his servants the prophets. 24 The king of Assyria brought people from Babylon, from Cuthah, from Avva, and from Hamath and Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel; and they possessed Samaria and lived in its cities.And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Avva, and from Hamath and Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel; and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.앗수르 왕은 바벨론과 구다와 아와와 하맛과 스발와임에서 사람들을 데려다가, 이스라엘 백성 대신 사마리아의 성읍들에 살게 하였다. 그들이 사마리아를 차지하고 그 성읍들에 살게 되었다.
25 So it was, at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they didn’t fear Yahweh. Therefore Yahweh sent lions among them, which killed some of them.And so it was, at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not Jehovah: therefore Jehovah sent lions among them, which killed some of them.그들이 그곳에 살기 시작할 때에, 그들은 여호와를 경외하지 않았다. 그래서 여호와께서 그들 가운데 사자들을 보내시니, 그것들이 그들 가운데 몇 사람을 죽였다.
26 Therefore they spoke to the king of Assyria, saying, “ The nations which you have carried away and placed in the cities of Samaria don’t know the law of the god of the land. Therefore he has sent lions among them; and behold, they kill them, because they don’t know the law of the god of the land.”Wherefore they spake to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations which thou hast carried away, and placed in the cities of Samaria, know not the law of the god of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them, and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the law of the god of the land.그러므로 그들이 앗수르 왕에게 아뢰었다. "임금님께서 사로잡아다가 사마리아 성읍들에 살게 하신 그 민족들이 그 땅 신의 법도를 알지 못합니다. 그래서 그 신이 그들 가운데 사자들을 보내었고, 보십시오, 사자들이 그들을 죽이고 있습니다. 이는 그들이 그 땅 신의 법도를 알지 못하기 때문입니다."
27 Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, “ Carry there one of the priests whom you brought from there; and let him go and dwell there, and let him teach them the law of the god of the land.”Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, Carry thither one of the priests whom ye brought from thence; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the law of the god of the land.그러자 앗수르 왕이 명령하여 이르기를 "거기서 사로잡아 온 제사장들 가운데 하나를 그리로 데려가라. 그가 가서 거기에 살며, 그 땅 신의 법도를 그들에게 가르치게 하라" 하였다.

29 However every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities in which they lived.Howbeit every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities wherein they dwelt.그러나 각 민족이 저마다 자기들의 신을 만들어, 사마리아 사람들이 만들어 둔 산당의 신당들 안에 두었으니, 각 민족이 자기들이 사는 성읍에서 그렇게 하였다.
30 The men of Babylon made Succoth Benoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima,And the men of Babylon made Succoth-benoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima,바벨론 사람들은 숙곳브놋을 만들고, 굿 사람들은 네르갈을 만들고, 하맛 사람들은 아시마를 만들고,

32 So they feared Yahweh, and also made from among themselves priests of the high places for themselves, who sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places.So they feared Jehovah, and made unto them from among themselves priests of the high places, who sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places.그래서 그들은 여호와도 경외하면서, 자기들 가운데서 사람들을 뽑아 산당의 제사장으로 삼아, 그들이 산당의 신당들에서 자기들을 위하여 제사 지내게 하였다.
33 They feared Yahweh, and also served their own gods, after the ways of the nations from among whom they had been carried away.They feared Jehovah, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations from among whom they had been carried away.그들은 여호와도 경외하면서, 동시에 그들이 사로잡혀 떠나온 그 민족들의 풍습을 따라 자기들의 신들도 섬겼다.
34 To this day they do what they did before. They don’t fear Yahweh, and they do not follow the statutes, or the ordinances, or the law, or the commandment which Yahweh commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;Unto this day they do after the former manner: they fear not Jehovah, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law or after the commandment which Jehovah commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;그들은 오늘날까지도 예전과 똑같이 행한다. 그들은 여호와를 경외하지도 않고, 여호와께서 야곱의 자손 곧 이스라엘이라 이름 지으신 그들에게 명령하신 규례와 법도와 율법과 계명을 따르지도 않는다.
35 with whom Yahweh had made a covenant and commanded them, saying, “ You shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them;with whom Jehovah had made a covenant, and charged them, saying, Ye shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them:여호와께서는 그들과 언약을 맺으시고 명령하여 이르셨다. "너희는 다른 신들을 경외하지 말며, 그것들에게 절하지 말고, 그것들을 섬기지 말며, 그것들에게 제사하지 말라.
36 but you shall fear Yahweh, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and with an outstretched arm, and you shall bow yourselves to him, and you shall sacrifice to him.but Jehovah, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and with an outstretched arm, him shall ye fear, and unto him shall ye bow yourselves, and to him shall ye sacrifice:오직 큰 능력과 펴신 팔로 너희를 이집트 땅에서 이끌어 내신 여호와를 경외하라. 너희는 그분께 절하고 그분께 제사를 드려야 한다.
37 The statutes and the ordinances, and the law and the commandment which he wrote for you, you shall observe to do forever more. You shall not fear other gods.and the statutes and the ordinances, and the law and the commandment, which he wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods:그분이 너희를 위하여 기록하신 규례와 법도와 율법과 계명을 너희는 영원토록 지켜 행하라. 너희는 다른 신들을 경외하지 말라.
38 You shall not forget the covenant that I have made with you. You shall not fear other gods.and the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods:내가 너희와 맺은 언약을 너희는 잊지 말며, 다른 신들을 경외하지 말라.
39 But you shall fear Yahweh your God, and he will deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.”but Jehovah your God shall ye fear; and he will deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.오직 너희 하나님 여호와를 경외하라. 그리하면 그분이 너희를 모든 원수의 손에서 건져 주실 것이다."
40 However they didn’t listen, but they did what they did before.Howbeit they did not hearken, but they did after their former manner.그러나 그들은 듣지 않고, 예전에 하던 대로 그대로 행하였다.
41 So these nations feared Yahweh, and also served their engraved images. Their children did likewise, and so did their children’s children. They do as their fathers did to this day.So these nations feared Jehovah, and served their graven images; their children likewise, and their children’s children, as did their fathers, so do they unto this day.이렇게 이 민족들은 여호와도 경외하면서, 동시에 자기들이 새긴 우상들도 섬겼다. 그들의 자손도 그러하고, 그 자손의 자손도 그러하여, 그들의 조상이 하던 대로 오늘날까지도 그렇게 행한다.
