3 The king stood by the pillar and made a covenant before Yahweh to walk after Yahweh and to keep his commandments, his testimonies, and his statutes with all his heart and all his soul, to confirm the words of this covenant that were written in this book; and all the people agreed to the covenant.And the king stood by the pillar, and made a covenant before Jehovah, to walk after Jehovah, and to keep his commandments, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and all his soul, to confirm the words of this covenant that were written in this book: and all the people stood to the covenant.왕은 기둥 곁에 서서 여호와 앞에서 언약을 세우고, 여호와를 따라 살며 그의 계명과 증거와 율례를 마음을 다하고 뜻을 다하여 지키며, 이 책에 기록된 이 언약의 말씀을 이루기로 다짐하였다. 그러자 온 백성이 이 언약에 동참하였다.
4 The king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the threshold, to bring out of Yahweh’s temple all the vessels that were made for Baal, for the Asherah, and for all the army of the sky; and he burned them outside of Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the threshold, to bring forth out of the temple of Jehovah all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the Asherah, and for all the host of heaven, and he burned them without Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron, and carried the ashes of them unto Beth-el.왕이 대제사장 힐기야와 둘째 등급의 제사장들과 문을 지키는 자들에게 명하여, 바알과 아세라와 하늘의 모든 군대를 위하여 만든 모든 기구를 여호와의 성전에서 끌어내게 하였다. 그는 그것들을 예루살렘 밖 기드론 들에서 불사르고 그 재를 벧엘로 가져갔다.
5 He got rid of the idolatrous priests whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah and in the places around Jerusalem; those also who burned incense to Baal, to the sun, to the moon, to the planets, and to all the army of the sky.And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places round about Jerusalem; them also that burned incense unto Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of heaven.그는 유다 왕들이 유다 성읍들의 산당과 예루살렘 주변 여러 곳에서 분향하도록 세웠던 우상 숭배의 제사장들을 폐하고, 바알과 해와 달과 행성들과 하늘의 모든 군대에게 분향하던 자들도 폐하였다.
6 He brought out the Asherah from Yahweh’s house, outside of Jerusalem, to the brook Kidron, and burned it at the brook Kidron, and beat it to dust, and cast its dust on the graves of the common people.And he brought out the Asherah from the house of Jehovah, without Jerusalem, unto the brook Kidron, and burned it at the brook Kidron, and beat it to dust, and cast the dust thereof upon the graves of the common people.그는 여호와의 성전에서 아세라 상을 끌어내어 예루살렘 밖 기드론 시내로 가져가서 기드론 시내에서 불사르고 빻아 가루로 만든 뒤, 그 가루를 평민들의 무덤 위에 뿌렸다.

9 Nevertheless the priests of the high places didn’t come up to Yahweh’s altar in Jerusalem, but they ate unleavened bread among their brothers.Nevertheless the priests of the high places came not up to the altar of Jehovah in Jerusalem, but they did eat unleavened bread among their brethren.그러나 산당의 제사장들은 예루살렘에 있는 여호와의 제단에 올라가지 못하고, 다만 그들의 형제들 가운데서 누룩 없는 빵을 먹었다.

11 He took away the horses that the kings of Judah had dedicated to the sun, at the entrance of Yahweh’s house, by the room of Nathan Melech the officer who was in the court; and he burned the chariots of the sun with fire.And he took away the horses that the kings of Judah had given to the sun, at the entrance of the house of Jehovah, by the chamber of Nathan-melech the chamberlain, which was in the precincts; and he burned the chariots of the sun with fire.그는 유다 왕들이 해를 위하여 바쳤던 말들을 없앴는데, 그 말들은 여호와의 성전 어귀, 곧 뜰에 있던 관리 나단멜렉의 방 곁에 있었다. 그는 또 해를 위한 병거들을 불살랐다.
12 The king broke down the altars that were on the roof of the upper room of Ahaz, which the kings of Judah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two courts of Yahweh’s house, and beat them down from there, and cast their dust into the brook Kidron.And the altars that were on the roof of the upper chamber of Ahaz, which the kings of Judah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two courts of the house of Jehovah, did the king break down, and beat them down from thence, and cast the dust of them into the brook Kidron.왕은 아하스의 다락방 지붕 위에 있던 제단들, 곧 유다 왕들이 만든 것과 므낫세가 여호와의 성전 두 뜰에 만든 제단들을 헐고, 그곳에서 부수어 그 가루를 기드론 시내에 던졌다.

14 He broke in pieces the pillars, cut down the Asherah poles, and filled their places with men’s bones.And he brake in pieces the pillars, and cut down the Asherim, and filled their places with the bones of men.그는 석상들을 부수고 아세라 목상들을 찍어 버리고 그 자리들을 사람의 뼈로 채웠다.
15 Moreover the altar that was at Bethel and the high place which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, had made, even that altar and the high place he broke down; and he burned the high place and beat it to dust, and burned the Asherah.Moreover the altar that was at Beth-el, and the high place which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, had made, even that altar and the high place he brake down; and he burned the high place and beat it to dust, and burned the Asherah.또 벧엘에 있던 제단, 곧 이스라엘로 죄를 짓게 한 느밧의 아들 여로보암이 만든 산당, 그 제단과 산당까지도 그는 헐고, 그 산당을 불사르고 빻아 가루로 만들었으며 아세라 목상도 불살랐다.
16 As Josiah turned himself, he spied the tombs that were there in the mountain; and he sent, and took the bones out of the tombs, and burned them on the altar, and defiled it, according to Yahweh’s word which the man of God proclaimed, who proclaimed these things.And as Josiah turned himself, he spied the sepulchres that were there in the mount; and he sent, and took the bones out of the sepulchres, and burned them upon the altar, and defiled it, according to the word of Jehovah which the man of God proclaimed, who proclaimed these things.요시야가 몸을 돌이켜 그 산에 있는 무덤들을 보고 사람을 보내어 그 무덤들에서 뼈를 가져다가 제단 위에서 불살라 그 제단을 더럽혔으니, 이는 이 일들을 선포한 하나님의 사람이 선포한 여호와의 말씀대로 된 것이었다.
17 Then he said, “ What monument is that which I see?” The men of the city told him, “ It is the tomb of the man of God who came from Judah and proclaimed these things that you have done against the altar of Bethel.”Then he said, What monument is that which I see? And the men of the city told him, It is the sepulchre of the man of God, who came from Judah, and proclaimed these things that thou hast done against the altar of Beth-el.그때에 그가 물었다. "내가 보는 저 비석은 무엇이냐?" 성읍 사람들이 그에게 말하였다. "그것은 유다에서 와서 왕께서 벧엘 제단에 대하여 행하신 이 일들을 선포한 하나님의 사람의 무덤입니다."
18 He said, “Let him be! Let no one move his bones.” So they let his bones alone, with the bones of the prophet who came out of Samaria.And he said, Let him be; let no man move his bones. So they let his bones alone, with the bones of the prophet that came out of Samaria.그가 말하였다. "그를 그대로 두고 아무도 그의 뼈를 옮기지 못하게 하여라." 그래서 그들은 사마리아에서 온 선지자의 뼈와 함께 그의 뼈를 그대로 두었다.
19 All the houses also of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to provoke Yahweh to anger, Josiah took away, and did to them according to all the acts that he had done in Bethel.And all the houses also of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to provoke Jehovah to anger, Josiah took away, and did to them according to all the acts that he had done in Beth-el.요시야는 또 사마리아 성읍들에 있던 산당의 모든 집들, 곧 이스라엘 왕들이 만들어 여호와를 진노하게 한 것들을 없애고, 벧엘에서 행한 모든 일대로 그것들에게도 행하였다.
20 He killed all the priests of the high places that were there, on the altars, and burned men’s bones on them; and he returned to Jerusalem.And he slew all the priests of the high places that were there, upon the altars, and burned men’s bones upon them; and he returned to Jerusalem.그는 거기에 있던 산당의 모든 제사장을 제단 위에서 죽이고 그 위에서 사람의 뼈를 불사른 뒤에 예루살렘으로 돌아왔다.
21 The king commanded all the people, saying, “ Keep the Passover to Yahweh your God, as it is written in this book of the covenant.”And the king commanded all the people, saying, Keep the passover unto Jehovah your God, as it is written in this book of the covenant.왕이 모든 백성에게 명하여 말하였다. "이 언약책에 기록된 대로 너희 하나님 여호와를 위하여 유월절을 지키라."
22 Surely there was not kept such a Passover from the days of the judges who judged Israel, nor in all the days of the kings of Israel, nor of the kings of Judah;Surely there was not kept such a passover from the days of the judges that judged Israel, nor in all the days of the kings of Israel, nor of the kings of Judah;참으로 이스라엘을 다스리던 사사들의 때로부터 이스라엘 왕들의 모든 시대와 유다 왕들의 시대를 통틀어 이와 같은 유월절을 지킨 적이 없었으니,
23 but in the eighteenth year of King Josiah, this Passover was kept to Yahweh in Jerusalem.but in the eighteenth year of king Josiah was this passover kept to Jehovah in Jerusalem.요시야 왕 제십팔년에 이르러서야 이 유월절을 예루살렘에서 여호와를 위하여 지켰다.
24 Moreover, Josiah removed those who had familiar spirits, the wizards, and the teraphim, and the idols, and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might confirm the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in Yahweh’s house.Moreover them that had familiar spirits, and the wizards, and the teraphim, and the idols, and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, did Josiah put away, that he might confirm the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of Jehovah.또한 요시야는 힐기야 제사장이 여호와의 성전에서 발견한 책에 기록된 율법의 말씀을 이루고자, 유다 땅과 예루살렘에 보이던 신접한 자들과 박수들과 드라빔과 우상들과 모든 가증한 것을 없앴다.
25 There was no king like him before him, who turned to Yahweh with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; and there was none like him who arose after him.And like unto him was there no king before him, that turned to Jehovah with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; neither after him arose there any like him.그와 같이 마음을 다하고 뜻을 다하고 힘을 다하여 모세의 모든 율법대로 여호와께 돌이킨 왕은 그 전에도 없었고, 그 후에도 그와 같은 자가 일어나지 못하였다.
26 Notwithstanding, Yahweh didn’t turn from the fierceness of his great wrath, with which his anger burned against Judah, because of all the provocation with which Manasseh had provoked him.Notwithstanding, Jehovah turned not from the fierceness of his great wrath, wherewith his anger was kindled against Judah, because of all the provocations wherewith Manasseh had provoked him.그럼에도 여호와께서는 그 크신 진노의 맹렬함에서 돌이키지 않으셨으니, 이는 므낫세가 여호와를 격노하게 한 모든 일로 인하여 그 진노가 유다를 향하여 타올랐기 때문이었다.
27 Yahweh said, “ I will also remove Judah out of my sight, as I have removed Israel; and I will cast off this city which I have chosen, even Jerusalem, and the house of which I said, ‘ My name shall be there.’”And Jehovah said, I will remove Judah also out of my sight, as I have removed Israel, and I will cast off this city which I have chosen, even Jerusalem, and the house of which I said, My name shall be there.여호와께서 말씀하셨다. "내가 이스라엘을 내 앞에서 옮긴 것같이 유다도 내 앞에서 옮기고, 내가 택한 이 성, 곧 예루살렘과 내 이름을 거기 두겠다고 말한 성전을 버리겠다."

29 In his days Pharaoh Necoh king of Egypt went up against the king of Assyria to the river Euphrates; and King Josiah went against him, but Pharaoh Necoh killed him at Megiddo when he saw him.In his days Pharaoh-necoh king of Egypt went up against the king of Assyria to the river Euphrates: and king Josiah went against him; and Pharaoh-necoh slew him at Megiddo, when he had seen him.그의 시대에 이집트 왕 바로 느고가 앗시리아 왕을 치러 유프라테스 강으로 올라갔다. 요시야 왕이 그를 막으러 나아갔으나, 바로 느고가 그를 보고 므깃도에서 그를 죽였다.
30 His servants carried him dead in a chariot from Megiddo, brought him to Jerusalem, and buried him in his own tomb. The people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and anointed him, and made him king in his father’s place.And his servants carried him in a chariot dead from Megiddo, and brought him to Jerusalem, and buried him in his own sepulchre. 31 Jehoahaz was twenty-three years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months in Jerusalem. 32 He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, according to all that his fathers had done.And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, according to all that his fathers had done.그는 그의 조상들이 행한 모든 대로 여호와께서 보시기에 악한 일을 행하였다.

34 Pharaoh Necoh made Eliakim the son of Josiah king in the place of Josiah his father, and changed his name to Jehoiakim; but he took Jehoahaz away, and he came to Egypt and died there.And Pharaoh-necoh made Eliakim the son of Josiah king in the room of Josiah his father, and changed his name to Jehoiakim: but he took Jehoahaz away; and he came to Egypt, and died there.바로 느고가 요시야의 아들 엘리아김을 그의 아버지 요시야를 대신하여 왕으로 삼고 그의 이름을 여호야김으로 바꾸었다. 그러나 그는 여호아하스를 데려갔고, 여호아하스는 이집트로 가서 거기서 죽었다.
35 Jehoiakim gave the silver and the gold to Pharaoh; but he taxed the land to give the money according to the commandment of Pharaoh. He exacted the silver and the gold of the people of the land, from everyone according to his assessment, to give it to Pharaoh Necoh.And Jehoiakim gave the silver and the gold to Pharaoh; but he taxed the land to give the money according to the commandment of Pharaoh: he exacted the silver and the gold of the people of the land, of every one according to his taxation, to give it unto Pharaoh-necoh.여호야김은 그 은과 금을 바로에게 바쳤으나, 바로의 명령대로 그 돈을 바치려고 그 땅에 세금을 매겼다. 그는 바로 느고에게 바치려고 그 땅 백성에게서 각 사람의 세액대로 은과 금을 거두어들였다.
36 Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. 37 He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, according to all that his fathers had done.And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, according to all that his fathers had done.그는 그의 조상들이 행한 모든 대로 여호와께서 보시기에 악한 일을 행하였다.
