1 Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jedidah the daughter of Adaiah of Bozkath.Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign; and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Jedidah the daughter of Adaiah of Bozkath.요시야가 왕이 되었을 때 그의 나이는 여덟 살이었고, 예루살렘에서 삼십일 년 동안 다스렸다. 그의 어머니의 이름은 여디다였는데, 보스갓 사람 아다야의 딸이었다.
2 He did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes, and walked in all the ways of David his father, and didn’t turn away to the right hand or to the left.And he did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.그는 여호와께서 보시기에 옳은 일을 행하였고, 그의 조상 다윗의 모든 길을 따라 걸으며 오른쪽으로도 왼쪽으로도 치우치지 않았다.
3 In the eighteenth year of King Josiah, the king sent Shaphan, the son of Azaliah the son of Meshullam, the scribe, to Yahweh’s house, saying,And it came to pass in the eighteenth year of king Josiah, that the king sent Shaphan, the son of Azaliah the son of Meshullam, the scribe, to the house of Jehovah, saying,요시야 왕 제십팔 년에, 왕이 므술람의 손자요 아살리야의 아들인 서기관 사반을 여호와의 전으로 보내며 이렇게 말하였다.
4 “ Go up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may count the money which is brought into Yahweh’s house, which the keepers of the threshold have gathered of the people.Go up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may sum the money which is brought into the house of Jehovah, which the keepers of the threshold have gathered of the people:"대제사장 힐기야에게 올라가서, 여호와의 전에 들여온 돈, 곧 문을 지키는 자들이 백성에게서 거둔 돈을 합산하게 하라.
5 Let them deliver it into the hand of the workers who have the oversight of Yahweh’s house; and let them give it to the workers who are in Yahweh’s house, to repair the damage to the house,and let them deliver it into the hand of the workmen that have the oversight of the house of Jehovah; and let them give it to the workmen that are in the house of Jehovah, to repair the breaches of the house,그것을 여호와의 전을 감독하는 일꾼들의 손에 넘겨주게 하고, 그들이 여호와의 전에 있는 일꾼들에게 그것을 주어 전의 무너진 곳을 수리하게 하라.
6 to the carpenters, and to the builders, and to the masons, and for buying timber and cut stone to repair the house.unto the carpenters, and to the builders, and to the masons, and for buying timber and hewn stone to repair the house.곧 목수들과 건축하는 자들과 석공들에게 주고, 또 전을 수리할 재목과 다듬은 돌을 사는 데 쓰게 하라.
7 However, no accounting shall be asked of them for the money delivered into their hand, for they deal faithfully.”Howbeit there was no reckoning made with them of the money that was delivered into their hand; for they dealt faithfully.그러나 그들의 손에 넘겨준 돈에 대해서는 그들과 회계하지 않았으니, 이는 그들이 충실하게 일하였기 때문이다."
8 Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the scribe, “ I have found the book of the law in Yahweh’s house.” Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan, and he read it.And Hilkiah the high priest said unto Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of Jehovah. And Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan, and he read it.대제사장 힐기야가 서기관 사반에게 말하였다. "내가 여호와의 전에서 율법책을 발견하였소." 힐기야가 그 책을 사반에게 넘겨주니, 그가 그것을 읽었다.
9 Shaphan the scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again, and said, “ Your servants have emptied out the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hands of the workmen who have the oversight of Yahweh’s house.”And Shaphan the scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again, and said, Thy servants have emptied out the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of the workmen that have the oversight of the house of Jehovah.서기관 사반이 왕에게 와서 왕에게 보고하며 말하였다. "왕의 종들이 전에서 발견된 돈을 다 쏟아내어, 여호와의 전을 감독하는 일꾼들의 손에 넘겨주었나이다."
10 Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, “ Hilkiah the priest has delivered a book to me.” Then Shaphan read it before the king.And Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath delivered me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.서기관 사반이 또 왕에게 아뢰며 말하였다. "제사장 힐기야가 제게 책 한 권을 주었나이다." 그리고 사반이 왕 앞에서 그것을 읽었다.
11 When the king had heard the words of the book of the law, he tore his clothes.And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the book of the law, that he rent his clothes.왕이 그 율법책의 말씀을 듣고, 자기 옷을 찢었다.
12 The king commanded Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam the son of Shaphan, Achbor the son of Micaiah, Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah the king’s servant, saying,And the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Micaiah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah the king’s servant, saying,왕이 제사장 힐기야와 사반의 아들 아히감과 미가야의 아들 악볼과 서기관 사반과 왕의 신하 아사야에게 명령하며 말하였다.
13 “ Go inquire of Yahweh for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found; for great is Yahweh’s wrath that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not listened to the words of this book, to do according to all that which is written concerning us.”Go ye, inquire of Jehovah for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found; for great is the wrath of Jehovah that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us."너희는 가서 나를 위하여, 또 백성을 위하여, 또 온 유다를 위하여, 발견된 이 책의 말씀에 대하여 여호와께 물으라. 우리 조상들이 이 책의 말씀을 듣지 아니하여, 우리에 관하여 기록된 모든 것을 따라 행하지 아니하였으니, 우리를 향하여 타오르는 여호와의 진노가 크기 때문이다."
14 So Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam, Achbor, Shaphan, and Asaiah went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe ( now she lived in Jerusalem in the second quarter); and they talked with her.So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asaiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe ( now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the second quarter); and they communed with her.그래서 제사장 힐기야와 아히감과 악볼과 사반과 아사야가 여선지자 훌다에게 갔다. 그는 하르하스의 손자요 디과의 아들인 살룸의 아내였으며, 살룸은 예복을 맡은 자였다. (이제 그 여인은 예루살렘의 둘째 구역에 살고 있었다.) 그들이 그와 더불어 이야기하였다.
15 She said to them, “ Yahweh the God of Israel says, ‘Tell the man who sent you to me,And she said unto them, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel: Tell ye the man that sent you unto me,그가 그들에게 말하였다. "이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하십니다. '너희를 내게 보낸 그 사람에게 전하여라.
16 “ Yahweh says, ‘ Behold, I will bring evil on this place and on its inhabitants, even all the words of the book which the king of Judah has read.Thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the words of the book which the king of Judah hath read.여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. 보아라, 내가 이곳과 그 주민들에게 재앙을 내리리니, 곧 유다 왕이 읽은 그 책의 모든 말씀대로 하리라.
17 Because they have forsaken me and have burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the work of their hands, therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and it will not be quenched.’”Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the work of their hands, therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and it shall not be quenched.이는 그들이 나를 버리고 다른 신들에게 분향하여 그들의 손으로 만든 모든 것으로 나를 노하게 하였기 때문이다. 그러므로 내 진노가 이곳을 향하여 타오를 것이며, 꺼지지 아니하리라.'
18 But to the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of Yahweh, tell him, “ Yahweh the God of Israel says, ‘ Concerning the words which you have heard,But unto the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of Jehovah, thus shall ye say to him, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel: As touching the words which thou hast heard,그러나 너희를 보내어 여호와께 묻게 한 유다 왕에게는 이렇게 말하여라. 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. 네가 들은 그 말씀에 관하여,
19 because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before Yahweh when you heard what I spoke against this place and against its inhabitants, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and have torn your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you,’ says Yahweh.because thy heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before Jehovah, when thou heardest what I spake against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and hast rent thy clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard thee, saith Jehovah.네 마음이 부드러워져서, 내가 이곳과 그 주민들을 향하여 황폐함과 저주가 되리라고 말한 것을 네가 들었을 때에 여호와 앞에서 스스로 겸손하였고, 네 옷을 찢으며 내 앞에서 울었으므로, 나도 네 말을 들었다, 여호와께서 말씀하신다.
20 ‘ Therefore behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you will be gathered to your grave in peace. Your eyes will not see all the evil which I will bring on this place.’”’” So they brought this message back to the king.Therefore, behold, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace, neither shall thine eyes see all the evil which I will bring upon this place. And they brought the king word again.그러므로 보아라, 내가 너를 네 조상들에게 모으리니, 너는 평안히 네 무덤에 모일 것이며, 내가 이곳에 내릴 모든 재앙을 네 눈이 보지 아니하리라.'" 그들이 이 말씀을 왕에게 다시 전하였다.
