1 “ To the angel of the assembly in Ephesus write: “ He who holds the seven stars in his right hand, he who walks among the seven golden lamp stands says these things:To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, he that walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks:"에베소 교회의 사자에게 이렇게 써 보내라. 오른손에 일곱 별을 붙잡고 일곱 금 촛대 사이를 거니시는 분이 이렇게 말씀하신다.
2 “ I know your works, and your toil and perseverance, and that you can’ t tolerate evil men, and have tested those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and found them false.I know thy works, and thy toil and patience, and that thou canst not bear evil men, and didst try them that call themselves apostles, and they are not, and didst find them false;나는 네 행위와 네 수고와 인내를 안다. 또 네가 악한 자들을 용납하지 못하는 것과, 사도라 자칭하나 실은 그렇지 않은 자들을 시험하여 그들이 거짓된 자임을 밝혀낸 것도 안다.
3 You have perseverance and have endured for my name’ s sake, and have not grown weary.and thou hast patience and didst bear for my name’ s sake, and hast not grown weary.너는 인내하며 내 이름을 위해 견뎌 왔고 지치지 않았다.
4 But I have this against you, that you left your first love.But I have this against thee, that thou didst leave thy first love.그러나 너를 책망할 것이 있다. 네가 처음 사랑을 버린 것이다.
5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent and do the first works; or else I am coming to you swiftly, and will move your lamp stand out of its place, unless you repent.Remember therefore whence thou art fallen, and repent and do the first works; or else I come to thee, and will move thy candlestick out of its place, except thou repent.그러므로 네가 어디서 떨어졌는지 기억하고 회개하여 처음 행위를 행하여라. 만일 그렇게 하지 않으면 내가 네게 속히 가서 네 촛대를 그 자리에서 옮겨 버리겠다. 네가 회개하지 않는 한 그렇게 하겠다.
6 But this you have, that you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.But this thou hast, that thou hatest the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.그래도 네게 이것이 있으니, 곧 네가 니골라당의 행위를 미워하는 것이다. 나도 그것을 미워한다.
7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of my God.He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. To him that overcometh, to him will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of God.귀 있는 자는 성령이 교회들에게 하시는 말씀을 들어라. 이기는 자에게는 내 하나님의 낙원에 있는 생명나무의 열매를 먹게 해 주겠다.
8 “ To the angel of the assembly in Smyrna write: “ The first and the last, who was dead, and has come to life says these things:And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These things saith the first and the last, who was dead, and lived again:"서머나 교회의 사자에게 이렇게 써 보내라. 처음이며 마지막이요, 죽었다가 다시 살아나신 분이 이렇게 말씀하신다.
9 “ I know your works, oppression, and your poverty ( but you are rich ), and the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews, and they are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.I know thy tribulation, and thy poverty ( but thou art rich ), and the blasphemy of them that say they are Jews, and they are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.나는 네 환난과 네 가난을 안다. 그러나 너는 부요한 자다. 또 자칭 유대 사람이라 하나 실은 그렇지 않고 도리어 사탄의 회당인 자들이 너를 비방하는 것도 안다.
10 Don’ t be afraid of the things which you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested; and you will have oppression for ten days. Be faithful to death, and I will give you the crown of life.Fear not the things which thou art about to suffer: behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days. Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee the crown of life.네가 앞으로 당할 고난을 두려워하지 마라. 보아라, 마귀가 너희 가운데 몇 사람을 옥에 던져 시험을 받게 할 것이며, 너희가 열흘 동안 환난을 당할 것이다. 죽기까지 충성하여라. 그러면 내가 네게 생명의 면류관을 주겠다.
11 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. He who overcomes won’ t be harmed by the second death.He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.귀 있는 자는 성령이 교회들에게 하시는 말씀을 들어라. 이기는 자는 둘째 사망의 해를 받지 않을 것이다.
12 “ To the angel of the assembly in Pergamum write: “ He who has the sharp two-edged sword says these things:And to the angel of the church in Pergamum write: These things saith he that hath the sharp two-edged sword:"버가모 교회의 사자에게 이렇게 써 보내라. 좌우에 날선 예리한 검을 가지신 분이 이렇게 말씀하신다.
13 “ I know your works and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. You hold firmly to my name, and didn’ t deny my faith in the days of Antipas my witness, my faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.I know where thou dwellest, even where Satan’s throne is; and thou holdest fast my name, and didst not deny my faith, even in the days of Antipas my witness, my faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwelleth.나는 네가 어디에 사는지 안다. 거기는 사탄의 보좌가 있는 곳이다. 그러나 너는 내 이름을 굳게 붙잡았고, 사탄이 사는 그곳에서 너희 가운데 죽임을 당한 나의 충성된 증인 안디바의 때에도 나를 믿는 믿음을 부인하지 않았다.
14 But I have a few things against you, because you have there some who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to throw a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there some that hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit fornication.그러나 너를 책망할 것이 몇 가지 있다. 네게 발람의 가르침을 따르는 자들이 있다는 것이다. 발람은 발락을 가르쳐 이스라엘 자손 앞에 걸림돌을 놓아 우상에게 바친 제물을 먹게 하고 음행하게 하였다.
15 So also you likewise have some who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans.So hast thou also some that hold the teaching of the Nicolaitans in like manner.이와 같이 네게도 니골라당의 가르침을 따르는 자들이 있다.
16 Repent therefore, or else I am coming to you quickly and I will make war against them with the sword of my mouth.Repent therefore; or else I come to thee quickly, and I will make war against them with the sword of my mouth.그러므로 회개하여라. 그렇지 않으면 내가 네게 속히 가서 내 입의 검으로 그들과 싸우겠다.
17 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. To him who overcomes, to him I will give of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows but he who receives it.He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. To him that overcometh, to him will I give of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and upon the stone a new name written, which no one knoweth but he that receiveth it.귀 있는 자는 성령이 교회들에게 하시는 말씀을 들어라. 이기는 자에게는 감추어진 만나를 주겠고, 또 흰 돌을 주겠다. 그 돌 위에는 새 이름이 새겨져 있는데, 그것을 받는 자 외에는 아무도 그 이름을 알지 못한다.
18 “ To the angel of the assembly in Thyatira write: “ The Son of God, who has his eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet are like burnished brass, says these things:And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write: These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet are like unto burnished brass:"두아디라 교회의 사자에게 이렇게 써 보내라. 눈은 불꽃 같고 발은 빛나는 놋쇠 같으신 하나님의 아들이 이렇게 말씀하신다.
19 “ I know your works, your love, faith, service, patient endurance, and that your last works are more than the first.I know thy works, and thy love and faith and ministry and patience, and that thy last works are more than the first.나는 네 행위와 네 사랑과 믿음과 섬김과 인내를 안다. 또 네 나중 행위가 처음 것보다 더 많은 것도 안다.
20 But I have this against you, that you tolerate your woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. She teaches and seduces my servants to commit sexual immorality and to eat things sacrificed to idols.But I have this against thee, that thou sufferest the woman Jezebel, who calleth herself a prophetess; and she teacheth and seduceth my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed to idols.그러나 너를 책망할 것이 있다. 네가 자칭 선지자라 하는 여자 이세벨을 용납하는 것이다. 그 여자는 내 종들을 가르치고 미혹하여 음행하게 하고 우상에게 바친 제물을 먹게 한다.
21 I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality.And I gave her time that she should repent; and she willeth not to repent of her fornication.내가 그 여자에게 회개할 기회를 주었으나, 그는 자기의 음행을 회개하기를 거부한다.
22 Behold, I will throw her and those who commit adultery with her into a bed of great oppression, unless they repent of her works.Behold, I cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of her works.보아라, 내가 그 여자를 병상에 던지겠고, 그와 더불어 간음하는 자들도 그 여자의 행위를 회개하지 않으면 큰 환난 가운데 던지겠다.
23 I will kill her children with Death, and all the assemblies will know that I am he who searches the minds and hearts. I will give to each one of you according to your deeds.And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he that searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto each one of you according to your works.또 내가 그 여자의 자녀들을 사망으로 죽이겠다. 그리하면 모든 교회가, 내가 사람의 생각과 마음을 살피는 자임을 알게 될 것이다. 또 내가 너희 각 사람에게 그 행위대로 갚아 주겠다.
24 But to you I say, to the rest who are in Thyatira — as many as don’ t have this teaching, who don’ t know what some call ‘ the deep things of Satan’— to you I say, I am not putting any other burden on you.But to you I say, to the rest that are in Thyatira, as many as have not this teaching, who know not the deep things of Satan, as they are wont to say; I cast upon you none other burden.그러나 두아디라에 있는 너희 나머지 사람들, 곧 이 가르침을 받지 않고 사탄의 깊은 것이라고 하는 것을 알지 못하는 자들에게 나는 말한다. 내가 너희에게 다른 짐을 지우지 않겠다.
25 Nevertheless, hold that which you have firmly until I come.Nevertheless that which ye have, hold fast till I come.다만 너희가 가진 것을 내가 올 때까지 굳게 붙잡아라.
26 He who overcomes, and he who keeps my works to the end, to him I will give authority over the nations.And he that overcometh, and he that keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give authority over the nations:이기는 자와 끝까지 내 일을 지키는 자에게는 내가 만국을 다스리는 권세를 주겠다.
27 He will rule them with a rod of iron, shattering them like clay pots, as I also have received of my Father;and he shall rule them with a rod of iron, as the vessels of the potter are broken to shivers; as I also have received of my Father:그가 쇠 지팡이로 그들을 다스려 질그릇을 부수듯이 깨뜨릴 것이다. 이는 나도 내 아버지께 받은 그대로다.
28 and I will give him the morning star.and I will give him the morning star.또 내가 그에게 새벽 별을 주겠다.
29 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.귀 있는 자는 성령이 교회들에게 하시는 말씀을 들어라."
