1 “ And to the angel of the assembly in Sardis write: “ He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars says these things: “ I know your works, that you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead.And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars: I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and thou art dead."사데에 있는 교회의 사자에게 이렇게 써라. 하나님의 일곱 영과 일곱 별을 가지신 분이 이렇게 말씀하신다. 나는 네가 한 일을 안다. 너는 살아 있다는 이름은 가졌으나 실은 죽은 자다.
2 Wake up and strengthen the things that remain, which you were about to throw away, for I have found no works of yours perfected before my God.Be thou watchful, and establish the things that remain, which were ready to die: for I have found no works of thine perfected before my God.깨어 일어나, 죽어 가는, 그러나 아직 남아 있는 것들을 굳게 하여라. 나는 네가 한 일이 내 하나님 앞에서 온전하게 된 것을 보지 못하였다.
3 Remember therefore how you have received and heard. Keep it and repent. If therefore you won’t watch, I will come as a thief, and you won’t know what hour I will come upon you.Remember therefore how thou hast received and didst hear; and keep it, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.그러므로 네가 어떻게 받고 들었는지를 기억하여라. 그것을 지키고 회개하여라. 만일 네가 깨어 있지 않으면, 내가 도둑같이 갈 것이니, 내가 어느 때에 네게 갈지 너는 알지 못할 것이다.
4 Nevertheless you have a few names in Sardis that didn’ t defile their garments. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy.But thou hast a few names in Sardis that did not defile their garments: and they shall walk with me in white; for they are worthy.그러나 사데에는 그 옷을 더럽히지 않은 몇 사람의 이름이 네게 있으니, 그들은 흰옷을 입고 나와 함께 다닐 것이다. 이는 그들이 합당하기 때문이다.
5 He who overcomes will be arrayed in white garments, and I will in no way blot his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.He that overcometh shall thus be arrayed in white garments; and I will in no wise blot his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.이기는 사람은 이렇게 흰옷을 입을 것이며, 나는 결코 그의 이름을 생명책에서 지우지 않고, 내 아버지 앞과 그분의 천사들 앞에서 그의 이름을 시인할 것이다.
6 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.귀 있는 사람은 성령이 교회들에게 하시는 말씀을 들어라.
7 “ To the angel of the assembly in Philadelphia write: “ He who is holy, he who is true, he who has the key of David, he who opens and no one can shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says these things:And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth and none shall shut, and that shutteth and none openeth:빌라델비아에 있는 교회의 사자에게 이렇게 써라. 거룩하시고 참되시며, 다윗의 열쇠를 가지셔서, 열면 아무도 닫을 수 없고 닫으면 아무도 열 수 없는 분이 이렇게 말씀하신다.
8 “ I know your works ( behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one can shut ), that you have a little power, and kept my word, and didn’ t deny my name.I know thy works ( behold, I have set before thee a door opened, which none can shut ), that thou hast a little power, and didst keep my word, and didst not deny my name.나는 네가 한 일을 안다. 보아라, 내가 네 앞에 아무도 닫을 수 없는 열린 문을 두었다. 너는 작은 능력을 가지고도 내 말씀을 지키며 내 이름을 부인하지 않았다.
9 Behold, I make some of the synagogue of Satan, of those who say they are Jews, and they are not, but lie — behold, I will make them to come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.Behold, I give of the synagogue of Satan, of them that say they are Jews, and they are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.보아라, 유대 사람이라고 말하지만 실은 그렇지 않고 거짓말하는 사탄의 회당에 속한 자들을 내가 어떻게 하겠는지 보아라. 내가 그들을 오게 하여 네 발 앞에 엎드려 절하게 하고, 내가 너를 사랑한 것을 알게 하겠다.
10 Because you kept my command to endure, I also will keep you from the hour of testing which is to come on the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.Because thou didst keep the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of trial, that hour which is to come upon the whole world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.네가 인내하라는 내 명령을 지켰으므로, 나도 온 세상에 닥쳐 땅에 사는 사람들을 시험할 그 시험의 때로부터 너를 지켜 주겠다.
11 I am coming quickly! Hold firmly that which you have, so that no one takes your crown.I come quickly: hold fast that which thou hast, that no one take thy crown.내가 속히 가겠다! 네가 가진 것을 굳게 잡아, 아무도 네 면류관을 빼앗지 못하게 하여라.
12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will go out from there no more. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God, and my own new name.He that overcometh, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go out thence no more: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God, and mine own new name.이기는 사람을 나는 내 하나님의 성전 안에 기둥이 되게 하겠으니, 그가 다시는 거기에서 나가지 않을 것이다. 또 내가 그 위에 내 하나님의 이름과, 내 하나님의 성 곧 내 하나님께로부터 하늘에서 내려오는 새 예루살렘의 이름과, 나의 새 이름을 기록하겠다.
13 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.귀 있는 사람은 성령이 교회들에게 하시는 말씀을 들어라.
14 “ To the angel of the assembly in Laodicea write: “ The Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of God’s creation, says these things:And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God:라오디게아에 있는 교회의 사자에게 이렇게 써라. 아멘이시며 신실하고 참된 증인이시며 하나님의 창조의 근원이신 분이 이렇게 말씀하신다.
15 “ I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot.I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.나는 네가 한 일을 안다. 너는 차지도 않고 뜨겁지도 않다. 네가 차든지 뜨겁든지 하기를 나는 원한다.
16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth.So because thou art lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spew thee out of my mouth.그러므로 네가 미지근하여 뜨겁지도 차지도 않으니, 내가 너를 내 입에서 토해 내겠다.
17 Because you say, ‘ I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing,’ and don’ t know that you are the wretched one, miserable, poor, blind, and naked;Because thou sayest, I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art the wretched one and miserable and poor and blind and naked:너는 '나는 부자라, 부요하여 부족한 것이 없다' 하지만, 네가 곤고하고 가련하며 가난하고 눈멀고 벌거벗은 자인 줄을 알지 못하는구나.
18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, that you may become rich; and white garments, that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see.I counsel thee to buy of me gold refined by fire, that thou mayest become rich; and white garments, that thou mayest clothe thyself, and that the shame of thy nakedness be not made manifest; and eyesalve to anoint thine eyes, that thou mayest see.내가 네게 권한다. 나에게서 불로 정련된 금을 사서 부요하게 되고, 흰옷을 사서 네 벌거벗은 부끄러움이 드러나지 않게 입으며, 안약을 사서 네 눈에 발라 보게 하여라.
19 As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent.As many as I love, I reprove and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.나는 내가 사랑하는 사람마다 책망하고 징계한다. 그러므로 열심을 내고 회개하여라.
20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with me.Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.보아라, 내가 문 밖에 서서 두드린다. 누구든지 내 음성을 듣고 문을 열면, 내가 그에게로 들어가 그와 함께 먹고 그도 나와 함께 먹을 것이다.
21 He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.He that overcometh, I will give to him to sit down with me in my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father in his throne.이기는 사람에게는, 내가 이기고 내 아버지와 함께 그분의 보좌에 앉은 것같이, 내가 그에게 나와 함께 내 보좌에 앉게 하겠다.
22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.”He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.귀 있는 사람은 성령이 교회들에게 하시는 말씀을 들어라."
