1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads. On his horns were ten crowns, and on his heads, blasphemous names.and he stood upon the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns ten diadems, and upon his heads names of blasphemy.그때 나는 바닷가 모래 위에 섰다. 그리고 한 짐승이 바다에서 올라오는 것을 보았는데, 그 짐승은 열 개의 뿔과 일곱 개의 머리를 가지고 있었다. 그 뿔에는 열 개의 왕관이 있었고, 머리에는 하나님을 모독하는 이름들이 적혀 있었다.
2 The beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority.And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his throne, and great authority.내가 본 그 짐승은 표범 같았고, 그 발은 곰의 발 같았으며, 그 입은 사자의 입 같았다. 용이 그 짐승에게 자기의 능력과 자기의 왕좌와 큰 권세를 주었다.
3 One of his heads looked like it had been wounded fatally. His fatal wound was healed, and the whole earth marveled at the beast.And I saw one of his heads as though it had been smitten unto death; and his death-stroke was healed: and the whole earth wondered after the beast;그 짐승의 머리들 가운데 하나는 마치 치명적인 상처를 입은 것처럼 보였다. 그러나 그 치명적인 상처가 나아 버렸고, 온 땅이 그 짐승을 보고 놀랍게 여기며 따라갔다.
4 They worshiped the dragon because he gave his authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “ Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”and they worshipped the dragon, because he gave his authority unto the beast; and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? and who is able to war with him?사람들은 용에게 경배했는데, 용이 자기의 권세를 짐승에게 주었기 때문이다. 또 그들은 그 짐승에게도 경배하며 말했다. "누가 이 짐승과 같으냐? 누가 이 짐승과 맞서 싸울 수 있겠느냐?"
5 A mouth speaking great things and blasphemy was given to him. Authority to make war for forty-two months was given to him.and there was given to him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and there was given to him authority to continue forty and two months.그 짐승에게는 거만한 말과 하나님을 모독하는 말을 하는 입이 주어졌다. 또 마흔두 달 동안 권세를 행할 권한이 주어졌다.
6 He opened his mouth for blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, his dwelling, and those who dwell in heaven.And he opened his mouth for blasphemies against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, even them that dwell in the heaven.그 짐승은 입을 열어 하나님을 모독했으니, 그분의 이름과 그분이 거하시는 곳, 곧 하늘에 사는 이들을 모독했다.
7 It was given to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. Authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation was given to him.And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and there was given to him authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation.또 그 짐승에게는 성도들과 싸워 그들을 이기는 것이 허락되었고, 모든 족속과 백성과 언어와 민족을 다스리는 권세가 주어졌다.
8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been killed.And all that dwell on the earth shall worship him, every one whose name hath not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb that hath been slain.땅에 사는 모든 사람이 그 짐승에게 경배할 것이다. 다만 죽임 당하신 어린 양의 생명책에 창세 이래로 그 이름이 기록된 사람들은 그렇지 않다.
9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear.If any man hath an ear, let him hear.누구든지 귀가 있는 사람은 들어라.
10 If anyone is to go into captivity, he will go into captivity. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, he must be killed. Here is the endurance and the faith of the saints.If any man is for captivity, into captivity he goeth: if any man shall kill with the sword, with the sword must he be killed. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.누구든지 포로로 잡혀갈 사람은 포로가 될 것이고, 누구든지 칼로 죽임 당할 사람은 칼로 죽임 당할 수밖에 없다. 여기에 성도들의 인내와 믿음이 있다.
11 I saw another beast coming up out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb and it spoke like a dragon.And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like unto a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.그리고 나는 또 다른 짐승이 땅에서 올라오는 것을 보았다. 그 짐승은 어린 양처럼 두 개의 뿔을 가졌으나, 용처럼 말했다.
12 He exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence. He makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed.And he exerciseth all the authority of the first beast in his sight. And he maketh the earth and them that dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose death-stroke was healed.그 짐승은 첫째 짐승의 모든 권세를 그 앞에서 행사하며, 땅과 그 안에 사는 사람들로 하여금 치명적인 상처가 나았던 첫째 짐승에게 경배하게 했다.
13 He performs great signs, even making fire come down out of the sky to the earth in the sight of people.And he doeth great signs, that he should even make fire to come down out of heaven upon the earth in the sight of men.또 그 짐승은 큰 표적들을 행했으니, 심지어 사람들이 보는 앞에서 하늘로부터 땅으로 불이 내려오게 했다.
14 He deceives my own people who dwell on the earth because of the signs he was granted to do in front of the beast, saying to those who dwell on the earth that they should make an image to the beast who had the sword wound and lived.And he deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by reason of the signs which it was given him to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast who hath the stroke of the sword and lived.그 짐승은 첫째 짐승 앞에서 행하도록 허락받은 표적들로 땅에 사는 사람들을 미혹했다. 그리고 땅에 사는 사람들에게 말하기를, 칼에 상처를 입고도 살아난 그 짐승을 위하여 형상을 만들라고 했다.
15 It was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause as many as wouldn’ t worship the image of the beast to be killed.And it was given unto him to give breath to it, even to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as should not worship the image of the beast should be killed.그 짐승에게는 그 짐승의 형상에게 생기를 불어넣어, 그 형상이 말도 하게 하고, 또 그 짐승의 형상에게 경배하지 않는 사람은 누구든지 죽임 당하게 하는 권한이 주어졌다.
16 He causes all, the small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free and the slave, to be given marks on their right hands or on their foreheads;And he causeth all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the bond, that there be given them a mark on their right hand, or upon their forehead;또 그 짐승은 작은 자나 큰 자나, 부유한 자나 가난한 자나, 자유인이나 종이나, 모든 사람으로 하여금 그들의 오른손이나 이마에 표를 받게 했다.
17 and that no one would be able to buy or to sell unless he has that mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.and that no man should be able to buy or to sell, save he that hath the mark, even the name of the beast or the number of his name.그래서 그 표, 곧 그 짐승의 이름이나 그 이름의 숫자를 가진 사람이 아니면 아무도 사고팔 수 없게 했다.
18 Here is wisdom. He who has understanding, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. His number is six hundred sixty-six.Here is wisdom. He that hath understanding, let him count the number of the beast; for it is the number of a man: and his number is Six hundred and sixty and six.여기에 지혜가 있다. 총명이 있는 사람은 그 짐승의 숫자를 세어 보아라. 그것은 사람의 숫자이니, 그 숫자는 육백육십육이다.
