1 Then David said, “ This is the house of Yahweh God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”Then David said, This is the house of Jehovah God, and this is the altar of burnt-offering for Israel.그때에 다윗이 말하였다. "이곳이 바로 여호와 하나님의 성전이며, 이곳이 이스라엘을 위한 번제단이다."
2 David gave orders to gather together the foreigners who were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to cut dressed stones to build God’s house.And David commanded to gather together the sojourners that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of God.다윗은 이스라엘 땅에 살고 있는 이방 사람들을 한자리에 모으라고 명령하였다. 그리고 그는 석공들을 세워 하나님의 성전을 짓기 위한 다듬은 돌을 깎게 하였다.
3 David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates and for the couplings, and bronze in abundance without weight,And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the couplings; and brass in abundance without weight;다윗은 문짝과 성문의 못으로 쓸 철과 이음쇠로 쓸 철을 넉넉히 준비하였고, 무게를 달 수 없을 만큼 많은 놋도 마련하였다.
4 and cedar trees without number, for the Sidonians and the people of Tyre brought cedar trees in abundance to David.and cedar-trees without number: for the Sidonians and they of Tyre brought cedar-trees in abundance to David.또 셀 수 없을 만큼 많은 백향목도 준비하였는데, 이는 시돈 사람들과 두로 사람들이 백향목을 다윗에게 풍성히 가져왔기 때문이다.
5 David said, “ Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be built for Yahweh must be exceedingly magnificent, of fame and of glory throughout all countries. I will therefore make preparation for it.” So David prepared abundantly before his death.And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for Jehovah must be exceeding magnificent, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.다윗이 말하였다. "내 아들 솔로몬은 아직 어리고 연약한데, 여호와를 위하여 지을 성전은 모든 나라에 그 명성과 영광이 드러나도록 더없이 웅장하게 지어야 한다. 그러므로 내가 이 일을 위해 미리 준비하겠다." 그래서 다윗은 죽기 전에 풍성히 준비해 두었다.
6 Then he called for Solomon his son, and commanded him to build a house for Yahweh, the God of Israel.Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build a house for Jehovah, the God of Israel.그런 다음 다윗은 자기 아들 솔로몬을 불러, 이스라엘의 하나님이신 여호와를 위하여 성전을 지으라고 명령하였다.
7 David said to Solomon his son, “ As for me, it was in my heart to build a house to the name of Yahweh my God.And David said to Solomon his son, As for me, it was in my heart to build a house unto the name of Jehovah my God.다윗이 자기 아들 솔로몬에게 말하였다. "내 아들아, 나로서는 내 하나님 여호와의 이름을 위하여 성전을 짓는 것이 내 마음의 소원이었다.
8 But Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, ‘ You have shed blood abundantly and have made great wars. You shall not build a house to my name, because you have shed much blood on the earth in my sight.But the word of Jehovah came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build a house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.그러나 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 이르셨다. '너는 많은 피를 흘렸고 큰 전쟁을 치렀다. 네가 내 앞에서 땅에 많은 피를 흘렸으므로, 너는 내 이름을 위하여 성전을 짓지 못할 것이다.
9 Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of peace. I will give him rest from all his enemies all around; for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days.Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about; for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.보아라, 한 아들이 네게서 태어날 것이니, 그는 평안의 사람이 될 것이다. 내가 그를 사방의 모든 원수에게서 벗어나 평안을 누리게 하겠다. 그의 이름은 솔로몬이라 할 것이며, 내가 그의 시대에 이스라엘에게 평화와 안정을 주겠다.
10 He shall build a house for my name; and he will be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.’He shall build a house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.그가 내 이름을 위하여 성전을 지을 것이다. 그는 내 아들이 되고 나는 그의 아버지가 될 것이며, 내가 그의 왕국의 보좌를 이스라엘 위에 영원히 견고하게 세우겠다.'
11 Now, my son, may Yahweh be with you and prosper you, and build the house of Yahweh your God, as he has spoken concerning you.Now, my son, Jehovah be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of Jehovah thy God, as he hath spoken concerning thee.이제 내 아들아, 여호와께서 너와 함께하셔서 너를 형통하게 하시고, 너에 대하여 말씀하신 대로 네 하나님 여호와의 성전을 짓게 하시기를 바란다.
12 May Yahweh give you discretion and understanding, and put you in charge of Israel, so that you may keep the law of Yahweh your God.Only Jehovah give thee discretion and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel; that so thou mayest keep the law of Jehovah thy God.여호와께서 네게 분별력과 명철을 주시고 너를 이스라엘을 다스리는 자로 세우셔서, 네가 네 하나님 여호와의 율법을 지키게 하시기를 바란다.
13 Then you will prosper, if you observe to do the statutes and the ordinances which Yahweh gave Moses concerning Israel. Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid and don’t be dismayed.Then shalt thou prosper, if thou observe to do the statutes and the ordinances which Jehovah charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; fear not, neither be dismayed.여호와께서 이스라엘에 관하여 모세에게 주신 규례와 법도를 네가 지켜 행하면, 그때에 너는 형통할 것이다. 강하고 담대하여라. 두려워하지도 말고 낙심하지도 말아라.
14 Now, behold, in my affliction I have prepared for Yahweh’s house one hundred thousand talents of gold, one million talents of silver, and bronze and iron without weight; for it is in abundance. I have also prepared timber and stone; and you may add to them.Now, behold, in my affliction I have prepared for the house of Jehovah a hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver, and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto.보아라, 내가 어려움 중에서도 여호와의 성전을 위하여 금 십만 달란트와 은 백만 달란트를 준비하였고, 무게를 달 수 없을 만큼 많은 놋과 철도 마련하였으니, 이는 그것이 풍성하기 때문이다. 또 나는 재목과 돌도 준비하였으니, 너는 거기에 더 보태어도 된다.
15 There are also workmen with you in abundance —cutters and workers of stone and timber, and all kinds of men who are skillful in every kind of work;Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all men that are skilful in every manner of work:또 너에게는 일꾼이 많이 있으니, 곧 돌을 깎는 자와 다듬는 자, 재목을 다루는 자, 온갖 종류의 일에 능숙한 모든 사람이다.
16 of the gold, the silver, the bronze, and the iron, there is no number. Arise and be doing, and may Yahweh be with you.”of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise and be doing, and Jehovah be with thee.금과 은과 놋과 철은 그 수가 헤아릴 수 없을 만큼 많다. 일어나 일을 시작하여라. 여호와께서 너와 함께하시기를 바란다."
17 David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,다윗은 또 이스라엘의 모든 지도자에게 자기 아들 솔로몬을 도우라고 명령하며 말하였다.
18 “Isn’t Yahweh your God with you? Hasn’t he given you rest on every side? For he has delivered the inhabitants of the land into my hand; and the land is subdued before Yahweh and before his people.Is not Jehovah your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side? for he hath delivered the inhabitants of the land into my hand; and the land is subdued before Jehovah, and before his people."너희 하나님 여호와께서 너희와 함께하지 않으시느냐? 그분께서 너희에게 사방으로 평안을 주지 않으셨느냐? 그분께서 이 땅의 주민들을 내 손에 넘겨주셨으니, 이 땅은 여호와 앞에서, 또 그분의 백성 앞에서 정복되었다.
19 Now set your heart and your soul to follow Yahweh your God. Arise therefore, and build the sanctuary of Yahweh God, to bring the ark of Yahweh’s covenant and the holy vessels of God into the house that is to be built for Yahweh’s name.”Now set your heart and your soul to seek after Jehovah your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of Jehovah God, to bring the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of Jehovah.이제 너희 마음과 너희 영혼을 다하여 너희 하나님 여호와를 찾아라. 그러므로 일어나 여호와 하나님의 성소를 지어, 여호와의 언약궤와 하나님의 거룩한 기구들을 여호와의 이름을 위하여 지을 성전 안으로 옮겨 들여라."
