3 David defeated Hadadezer king of Zobah, toward Hamath, as he went to establish his dominion by the river Euphrates.And David smote Hadarezer king of Zobah unto Hamath, as he went to establish his dominion by the river Euphrates.다윗이 소바 왕 하닷에셀이 유프라테스 강가에서 자기 세력을 떨치려고 나아갈 때, 그를 쳐서 하맛까지 이르렀다.
4 David took from him one thousand chariots, seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen; and David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved of them enough for one hundred chariots.And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen; and David hocked all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for a hundred chariots.다윗이 그에게서 병거 천 대와 기마병 칠천 명과 보병 이만 명을 빼앗고, 다윗이 모든 병거 말의 뒷발 힘줄을 끊었으나 병거 백 대를 끌 만큼은 남겨 두었다.
5 When the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David struck twenty-two thousand men of the Syrians.And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succor Hadarezer king of Zobah, David smote of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.다마스쿠스의 시리아 사람들이 소바 왕 하닷에셀을 도우러 오자, 다윗이 시리아 사람 이만 이천 명을 쳤다.
6 Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David and brought tribute. And Jehovah gave victory to David whithersoever he went.그 후 다윗이 다마스쿠스의 시리아에 수비대를 두니, 시리아 사람들이 다윗의 종이 되어 조공을 바쳤다. 여호와께서 다윗이 어디로 가든지 승리를 주셨다.
7 David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.다윗이 하닷에셀의 신하들이 지니고 있던 금 방패들을 빼앗아 예루살렘으로 가져왔다.
8 From Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadadezer, David took very much bronze, with which Solomon made the bronze sea, the pillars, and the vessels of bronze.And from Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadarezer, David took very much brass, wherewith Solomon made the brazen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.또 하닷에셀의 성읍인 디브핫과 군에서 다윗이 놋을 매우 많이 빼앗았는데, 솔로몬이 그것으로 놋 바다와 기둥들과 놋 기구들을 만들었다.
9 When Tou king of Hamath heard that David had struck all the army of Hadadezer king of Zobah,And when Tou king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadarezer king of Zobah,하맛 왕 도우가 다윗이 소바 왕 하닷에셀의 온 군대를 쳤다는 소식을 듣고,
10 he sent Hadoram his son to King David to greet him and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and struck him ( for Hadadezer had wars with Tou ); and he had with him all kinds of vessels of gold and silver and bronze.he sent Hadoram his son to king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadarezer and smitten him ( for Hadarezer had wars with Tou ); and he had with him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass.자기 아들 하도람을 다윗 왕에게 보내어 문안하고 축복하게 하였는데, 이는 다윗이 하닷에셀과 싸워 그를 쳤기 때문이었다. (하닷에셀은 도우와 전쟁을 벌여 왔던 것이다.) 하도람은 온갖 금과 은과 놋 기구들을 가지고 왔다.
11 King David also dedicated these to Yahweh, with the silver and the gold that he carried away from all the nations: from Edom, from Moab, from the children of Ammon, from the Philistines, and from Amalek.These also did king David dedicate unto Jehovah, with the silver and the gold that he carried away from all the nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.다윗 왕은 이것들도 여호와께 바쳤으니, 곧 그가 모든 민족에게서, 즉 에돔과 모압과 암몬 자손과 블레셋과 아말렉에게서 가져온 은과 금과 함께 바쳤다.
12 Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah struck eighteen thousand of the Edomites in the Valley of Salt.Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah smote of the Edomites in the Valley of Salt eighteen thousand.또 스루야의 아들 아비새가 소금 골짜기에서 에돔 사람 만 팔천 명을 쳤다.
13 He put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became servants to David. Yahweh gave victory to David wherever he went.And he put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became servants to David. And Jehovah gave victory to David whithersoever he went.그가 에돔에 수비대를 두니, 모든 에돔 사람이 다윗의 종이 되었다. 여호와께서 다윗이 어디로 가든지 승리를 주셨다.

16 Zadok the son of Ahitub and Abimelech the son of Abiathar were priests; Shavsha was scribe;and Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were priests; and Shavsha was scribe;아히둡의 아들 사독과 아비아달의 아들 아비멜렉은 제사장이었고, 사브사는 서기관이었으며,
17 and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief officials serving the king.and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief about the king.여호야다의 아들 브나야는 그렛 사람과 블렛 사람을 거느렸고, 다윗의 아들들은 왕을 보좌하는 으뜸가는 자들이었다.
