2 David said to all the assembly of Israel, “If it seems good to you, and if it is of Yahweh our God, let’s send word everywhere to our brothers who are left in all the land of Israel, with whom the priests and Levites are in their cities that have pasture lands, that they may gather themselves to us.And David said unto all the assembly of Israel, If it seem good unto you, and if it be of Jehovah our God, let us send abroad every where unto our brethren that are left in all the land of Israel, with whom the priests and Levites are in their cities that have suburbs, that they may gather themselves unto us;그리고 다윗이 이스라엘 온 회중에게 말하였다. "여러분이 좋게 여기고 또 이것이 우리 하나님 여호와께로부터 난 일이라면, 이스라엘 온 땅에 남아 있는 우리 형제들과, 또 들이 딸린 성읍에서 그들과 함께 지내는 제사장과 레위 사람들에게 사방으로 사람을 보내어, 그들을 우리에게로 모이게 합시다.
3 Also, let’s bring the ark of our God back to us again, for we didn’t seek it in the days of Saul.”and let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we sought not unto it in the days of Saul.그리하여 우리 하나님의 궤를 우리에게로 다시 모셔 옵시다. 사울이 다스리던 시절에는 우리가 그 궤를 찾지 않았기 때문입니다."
4 All the assembly said that they would do so, for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.And all the assembly said that they would do so; for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.이 일이 온 백성이 보기에 옳았으므로, 온 회중이 그렇게 하기로 하였다.
5 So David assembled all Israel together, from the Shihor River of Egypt even to the entrance of Hamath, to bring God’s ark from Kiriath Jearim.So David assembled all Israel together, from the Shihor the brook of Egypt even unto the entrance of Hamath, to bring the ark of God from Kiriath-jearim.그래서 다윗은 이집트의 시홀 시내에서부터 하맛 어귀에 이르기까지 온 이스라엘을 모아, 기럇여아림에서 하나님의 궤를 모셔 오려고 하였다.
6 David went up with all Israel to Baalah, that is, to Kiriath Jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up from there God Yahweh’s ark that sits above the cherubim, that is called by the Name.And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to Kiriath-jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God Jehovah that sitteth above the cherubim, that is called by the Name.다윗이 온 이스라엘과 함께 바알라 곧 유다에 속한 기럇여아림으로 올라갔으니, 이는 그룹 사이에 좌정하시고 그 이름으로 불리시는 하나님 여호와의 궤를 그곳에서 모셔 오려는 것이었다.
7 They carried God’s ark on a new cart, and brought it out of Abinadab’s house; and Uzza and Ahio drove the cart.And they carried the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drove the cart.그들은 하나님의 궤를 새 수레에 싣고 아비나답의 집에서 메어 내었으며, 웃사와 아효가 그 수레를 몰았다.
8 David and all Israel played before God with all their might, even with songs, with harps, with stringed instruments, with tambourines, with cymbals, and with trumpets.And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, even with songs, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.다윗과 온 이스라엘은 하나님 앞에서 온 힘을 다하여, 노래하며 수금과 비파와 소고와 제금과 나팔을 울리며 즐거워하였다.
9 When they came to Chidon’s threshing floor, Uzza put out his hand to hold the ark, for the oxen stumbled.And when they came unto the threshing-floor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.그들이 기돈의 타작마당에 이르렀을 때, 소들이 비틀거리므로 웃사가 손을 내밀어 궤를 붙들었다.
10 Yahweh’s anger burned against Uzza, and he struck him because he put his hand on the ark; and he died there before God.And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put forth his hand to the ark; and there he died before God.그러자 여호와께서 웃사에게 진노하시어 그를 치셨으니, 이는 그가 궤에 손을 내밀었기 때문이다. 그가 거기에서 하나님 앞에 죽었다.
11 David was displeased, because Yahweh had broken out against Uzza. He called that place Perez Uzza, to this day.And David was displeased, because Jehovah had broken forth upon Uzza: and he called that place Perez-uzza, unto this day.여호와께서 웃사를 치셨으므로 다윗이 마음 상하여, 그곳을 베레스웃사라 불렀으니 오늘날까지 그러하다.
12 David was afraid of God that day, saying, “ How can I bring God’s ark home to me?”And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?그날 다윗이 하나님을 두려워하여 말하였다. "내가 어떻게 하나님의 궤를 내게로 모셔 올 수 있겠는가?"
13 So David didn’t move the ark with him into David’s city, but carried it aside into Obed-Edom the Gittite’s house.So David removed not the ark unto him into the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.그래서 다윗은 그 궤를 자기에게로 곧 다윗 성으로 옮기지 아니하고, 길을 돌려 가드 사람 오벧에돔의 집으로 옮겨 두었다.
14 God’s ark remained with the family of Obed-Edom in his house three months; and Yahweh blessed Obed-Edom’s house and all that he had.And the ark of God remained with the family of Obed-edom in his house three months: and Jehovah blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that he had.하나님의 궤가 오벧에돔의 집에서 그 가족과 함께 석 달 동안 머물렀는데, 여호와께서 오벧에돔의 집과 그에게 딸린 모든 것에 복을 내리셨다.
