2 David said to Joab and to the princes of the people, “ Go, count Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring me word, that I may know how many there are.”And David said to Joab and to the princes of the people, Go, number Israel from Beer-sheba even to Dan; and bring me word, that I may know the sum of them.다윗이 요압과 백성의 지도자들에게 말하였습니다. "가서 브엘세바에서 단까지 이스라엘의 인구를 세어 내게 알려 주시오. 그 수가 얼마나 되는지 내가 알고자 하오."
3 Joab said, “ May Yahweh make his people a hundred times as many as they are. But, my lord the king, aren’t they all my lord’s servants? Why does my lord require this thing? Why will he be a cause of guilt to Israel?”And Joab said, Jehovah make his people a hundred times as many as they are: but, my lord the king, are they not all my lord’s servants? why doth my lord require this thing? why will he be a cause of guilt unto Israel?요압이 대답하였습니다. "여호와께서 그 백성을 지금보다 백 배나 더하게 하시기를 바랍니다. 그러나 내 주 왕이여, 그들이 다 내 주의 종이 아닙니까? 어찌하여 내 주께서 이 일을 요구하십니까? 어찌하여 이스라엘에게 죄가 되게 하려 하십니까?"
4 Nevertheless the king’s word prevailed against Joab. Therefore Joab departed and went throughout all Israel, then came to Jerusalem.Nevertheless the king’s word prevailed against Joab. Wherefore Joab departed, and went throughout all Israel, and came to Jerusalem.그러나 왕의 명령이 요압을 이겼습니다. 그리하여 요압은 떠나 온 이스라엘을 두루 다닌 뒤에 예루살렘으로 돌아왔습니다.
5 Joab gave the sum of the census of the people to David. All those of Israel were one million one hundred thousand men who drew a sword; and in Judah were four hundred seventy thousand men who drew a sword.And Joab gave up the sum of the numbering of the people unto David. And all they of Israel were a thousand thousand and a hundred thousand men that drew sword: and Judah was four hundred threescore and ten thousand men that drew sword.요압이 인구를 센 총수를 다윗에게 보고하였습니다. 온 이스라엘 가운데 칼을 쓸 수 있는 자가 백십만 명이었고, 유다 가운데 칼을 쓸 수 있는 자가 사십칠만 명이었습니다.
6 But he didn’t count Levi and Benjamin among them, for the king’s word was abominable to Joab.But Levi and Benjamin counted he not among them; for the king’s word was abominable to Joab.그러나 요압은 왕의 명령을 가증히 여겨, 레위와 베냐민은 그 가운데 세지 않았습니다.
7 God was displeased with this thing; therefore he struck Israel.And God was displeased with this thing; therefore he smote Israel.하나님께서 이 일을 기뻐하지 않으셔서, 이스라엘을 치셨습니다.
8 David said to God, “ I have sinned greatly, in that I have done this thing. But now put away, I beg you, the iniquity of your servant, for I have done very foolishly.”And David said unto God, I have sinned greatly, in that I have done this thing: but now, put away, I beseech thee, the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly.다윗이 하나님께 아뢰었습니다. "제가 이 일을 행하여 크게 죄를 지었습니다. 그러나 이제 주의 종의 죄악을 없애 주시기를 간구합니다. 제가 참으로 어리석게 행하였습니다."
9 Yahweh spoke to Gad, David’s seer, saying,And Jehovah spake unto Gad, David’s seer, saying,여호와께서 다윗의 선견자 갓에게 말씀하셨습니다.
10 “ Go and speak to David, saying, ‘ Yahweh says, “ I offer you three things. Choose one of them, that I may do it to you.”’”Go and speak unto David, saying, Thus saith Jehovah, I offer thee three things: choose thee one of them, that I may do it unto thee."가서 다윗에게 전하여 이르라. '여호와께서 이같이 말씀하신다. 내가 네게 세 가지를 내놓으니, 그중 하나를 택하라. 그러면 내가 그것을 네게 행하리라.'"
11 So Gad came to David and said to him, “ Yahweh says, ‘ Take your choice:So Gad came to David, and said unto him, Thus saith Jehovah, Take which thou wilt:갓이 다윗에게 와서 말하였습니다. "여호와께서 이같이 말씀하십니다. '네가 택하라.
12 either three years of famine; or three months to be consumed before your foes, while the sword of your enemies overtakes you; or else three days of the sword of Yahweh, even pestilence in the land, and Yahweh’s angel destroying throughout all the borders of Israel. Now therefore consider what answer I shall return to him who sent me.’”either three years of famine; or three months to be consumed before thy foes, while the sword of thine enemies overtaketh thee; or else three days the sword of Jehovah, even pestilence in the land, and the angel of Jehovah destroying throughout all the borders of Israel. 13 David said to Gad, “ I am in distress. Let me fall, I pray, into Yahweh’s hand, for his mercies are very great. Don’t let me fall into man’s hand.”And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let me fall, I pray, into the hand of Jehovah; for very great are his mercies: and let me not fall into the hand of man.다윗이 갓에게 말하였습니다. "내가 심히 곤경에 빠졌소. 내가 여호와의 손에 빠지기를 원하오. 그분의 긍휼이 매우 크기 때문이오. 사람의 손에는 빠지지 않게 해 주오."
14 So Yahweh sent a pestilence on Israel, and seventy thousand men of Israel fell.So Jehovah sent a pestilence upon Israel; and there fell of Israel seventy thousand men.그리하여 여호와께서 이스라엘에 전염병을 내리시니, 이스라엘 사람 칠만 명이 쓰러졌습니다.
15 God sent an angel to Jerusalem to destroy it. As he was about to destroy, Yahweh saw, and he relented of the disaster, and said to the destroying angel, “ It is enough. Now withdraw your hand.” Yahweh’s angel was standing by the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.And God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it: and as he was about to destroy, Jehovah beheld, and he repented him of the evil, and said to the destroying angel, It is enough; now stay thy hand. And the angel of Jehovah was standing by the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.하나님께서 천사를 보내 예루살렘을 멸하게 하셨습니다. 그러나 천사가 멸하려 할 때에 여호와께서 보시고 그 재앙을 거두시며, 멸하는 천사에게 말씀하셨습니다. "충분하다. 이제 네 손을 거두라." 그때 여호와의 천사는 여부스 사람 오르난의 타작마당 곁에 서 있었습니다.
16 David lifted up his eyes, and saw Yahweh’s angel standing between earth and the sky, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell on their faces.And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of Jehovah standing between earth and heaven, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell upon their faces.다윗이 눈을 들어 보니, 여호와의 천사가 땅과 하늘 사이에 서서 칼을 빼어 손에 들고 예루살렘을 향하여 펼치고 있었습니다. 그러자 다윗과 장로들이 굵은 베옷을 입고 얼굴을 땅에 대고 엎드렸습니다.
17 David said to God, “Isn’t it I who commanded the people to be counted? It is even I who have sinned and done very wickedly; but these sheep, what have they done? Please let your hand, O Yahweh my God, be against me and against my father’s house; but not against your people, that they should be plagued.”And David said unto God, Is it not I that commanded the people to be numbered? even I it is that have sinned and done very wickedly; but these sheep, what have they done? let thy hand, I pray thee, O Jehovah my God, be against me, and against my father’s house; but not against thy people, that they should be plagued.다윗이 하나님께 아뢰었습니다. "백성을 세라고 명령한 자가 바로 저 아닙니까? 죄를 짓고 심히 악하게 행한 자도 바로 저입니다. 그러나 이 양들이 무슨 일을 하였습니까? 여호와 나의 하나님이여, 주의 손이 저와 제 아버지의 집을 치시고, 주의 백성에게는 재앙이 내리지 않게 하소서."
18 Then Yahweh’s angel commanded Gad to tell David that David should go up and raise an altar to Yahweh on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.Then the angel of Jehovah commanded Gad to say to David, that David should go up, and rear an altar unto Jehovah in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.그때 여호와의 천사가 갓에게 명하여 다윗에게 전하게 하였습니다. 다윗이 올라가 여부스 사람 오르난의 타작마당에 여호와를 위한 제단을 쌓아야 한다는 것이었습니다.
19 David went up at the saying of Gad, which he spoke in Yahweh’s name.And David went up at the saying of Gad, which he spake in the name of Jehovah.다윗이 갓이 여호와의 이름으로 전한 말씀을 따라 올라갔습니다.
20 Ornan turned back and saw the angel; and his four sons who were with him hid themselves. Now Ornan was threshing wheat.And Ornan turned back, and saw the angel; and his four sons that were with him hid themselves. Now Ornan was threshing wheat.오르난이 돌이켜 천사를 보았고, 그와 함께 있던 네 아들은 숨었습니다. 그때 오르난은 밀을 타작하고 있었습니다.
21 As David came to Ornan, Ornan looked and saw David, and went out of the threshing floor, and bowed himself to David with his face to the ground.And as David came to Ornan, Ornan looked and saw David, and went out of the threshing-floor, and bowed himself to David with his face to the ground.다윗이 오르난에게 가까이 오자, 오르난이 바라보다가 다윗을 알아보고는 타작마당에서 나와 얼굴을 땅에 대고 다윗에게 절하였습니다.
22 Then David said to Ornan, “ Sell me the place of this threshing floor, that I may build an altar to Yahweh on it. You shall sell it to me for the full price, that the plague may be stopped from afflicting the people.”Then David said to Ornan, Give me the place of this threshing-floor, that I may build thereon an altar unto Jehovah: for the full price shalt thou give it me, that the plague may be stayed from the people.다윗이 오르난에게 말하였습니다. "이 타작마당의 터를 내게 주시오. 내가 그 위에 여호와를 위한 제단을 쌓고자 하오. 백성에게서 재앙이 그치도록, 그것을 충분한 값을 주고 내게 파시오."
23 Ornan said to David, “ Take it for yourself, and let my lord the king do that which is good in his eyes. Behold, I give the oxen for burnt offerings, and the threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for the meal offering. I give it all.”And Ornan said unto David, Take it to thee, and let my lord the king do that which is good in his eyes: lo, I give thee the oxen for burnt-offerings, and the threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for the meal-offering; I give it all.오르난이 다윗에게 말하였습니다. "그것을 가지십시오. 내 주 왕께서 보시기에 좋은 대로 행하소서. 보십시오, 제가 번제로 드릴 소들과 땔감으로 쓸 타작 기구와 소제로 드릴 밀을 드리겠습니다. 제가 이 모든 것을 드립니다."
24 King David said to Ornan, “ No, but I will most certainly buy it for the full price. For I will not take that which is yours for Yahweh, nor offer a burnt offering that costs me nothing.”And king David said to Ornan, Nay; but I will verily buy it for the full price: for I will not take that which is thine for Jehovah, nor offer a burnt-offering without cost.다윗 왕이 오르난에게 말하였습니다. "아니오. 내가 반드시 충분한 값을 주고 사겠소. 그대의 것을 여호와를 위하여 취하거나, 값 없이 번제를 드리지는 않겠소."
25 So David gave to Ornan six hundred shekels of gold by weight for the place.So David gave to Ornan for the place six hundred shekels of gold by weight.그리하여 다윗이 그 터의 값으로 오르난에게 금 육백 세겔을 달아 주었습니다.
26 David built an altar to Yahweh there, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called on Yahweh; and he answered him from the sky by fire on the altar of burnt offering.And David built there an altar unto Jehovah, and offered burnt-offerings and peace-offerings, and called upon Jehovah; and he answered him from heaven by fire upon the altar of burnt-offering.다윗이 거기에 여호와를 위한 제단을 쌓고 번제와 화목제를 드리며 여호와를 부르니, 여호와께서 하늘에서 번제단 위에 불을 내려 그에게 응답하셨습니다.
27 Then Yahweh commanded the angel, and he put his sword back into its sheath.And Jehovah commanded the angel; and he put up his sword again into the sheath thereof.여호와께서 천사에게 명하시니, 천사가 다시 칼을 칼집에 꽂았습니다.
28 At that time, when David saw that Yahweh had answered him in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite, then he sacrificed there.At that time, when David saw that Jehovah had answered him in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite, then he sacrificed there.그때에 다윗이 여호와께서 여부스 사람 오르난의 타작마당에서 자기에게 응답하신 것을 보고는 거기서 제사를 드렸습니다.
