5 When the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David struck twenty two thousand men of the Syrians.And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succor Hadadezer king of Zobah, David smote of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.다마스쿠스의 아람 사람들이 소바 왕 하닷에셀을 도우러 왔으나, 다윗이 아람 사람 이만 이천 명을 쳐 죽였다.

10 then Toi sent Joram his son to King David to greet him and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and struck him; for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. Joram brought with him vessels of silver, vessels of gold, and vessels of bronze.then Toi sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:그래서 도이는 자기 아들 요람을 다윗 왕에게 보내어 문안하고 축복하게 하였으니, 이는 다윗이 하닷에셀과 싸워 그를 쳤기 때문이다. 하닷에셀은 도이와 전쟁을 벌이던 사이였다. 요람은 은그릇과 금그릇과 놋그릇들을 가지고 왔다.
11 King David also dedicated these to Yahweh, with the silver and gold that he dedicated of all the nations which he subdued —these also did king David dedicate unto Jehovah, with the silver and gold that he dedicated of all the nations which he subdued;다윗 왕은 이 그릇들도 여호와께 드렸으니, 자기가 굴복시킨 모든 민족에게서 거둔 은과 금과 함께 바친 것이다.

13 David earned a reputation when he returned from striking down eighteen thousand men of the Syrians in the Valley of Salt.And David gat him a name when he returned from smiting the Syrians in the Valley of Salt, even eighteen thousand men.다윗은 소금 골짜기에서 아람 사람 만 팔천 명을 치고 돌아왔을 때에 명성을 얻었다.
14 He put garrisons in Edom. Throughout all Edom, he put garrisons, and all the Edomites became servants to David. Yahweh gave victory to David wherever he went.And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all the Edomites became servants to David. And Jehovah gave victory to David whithersoever he went.또 그가 에돔에 수비대를 두니, 온 에돔에 두루 수비대를 두자 모든 에돔 사람이 다윗의 종이 되었다. 다윗이 어디로 가든지 여호와께서 그에게 승리를 주셨다.

17 Zadok the son of Ahitub and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar were priests, Seraiah was scribe,and Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were priests; and Seraiah was scribe;아히둡의 아들 사독과 아비아달의 아들 아히멜렉은 제사장이 되었고, 스라야는 서기관이 되었다.
