1 There was a famine in the days of David for three years, year after year; and David sought the face of Yahweh. Yahweh said, “ It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he put the Gibeonites to death.”And there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David sought the face of Jehovah. And Jehovah said, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he put to death the Gibeonites.다윗의 시대에 삼 년 동안 해마다 거듭 기근이 들었다. 그래서 다윗이 여호와의 얼굴을 구하니, 여호와께서 말씀하셨다. "이는 사울과 그의 피 흘린 집안 때문이니, 그가 기브온 사람들을 죽였기 때문이다."

3 and David said to the Gibeonites, “ What should I do for you? And with what should I make atonement, that you may bless Yahweh’s inheritance?”and David said unto the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? and wherewith shall I make atonement, that ye may bless the inheritance of Jehovah?다윗이 기브온 사람들에게 말하였다. "내가 너희를 위하여 무엇을 하면 되겠느냐? 무엇으로 속죄하여야 너희가 여호와의 기업을 축복하겠느냐?"
4 The Gibeonites said to him, “ It is no matter of silver or gold between us and Saul or his house; neither is it for us to put any man to death in Israel.” He said, “ I will do for you whatever you say.”And the Gibeonites said unto him, It is no matter of silver or gold between us and Saul, or his house; neither is it for us to put any man to death in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, that will I do for you.기브온 사람들이 그에게 대답하였다. "우리와 사울이나 그의 집안 사이의 일은 은이나 금으로 해결할 문제가 아니며, 이스라엘 가운데서 우리가 어떤 사람을 죽이는 것도 우리에게 달린 일이 아닙니다." 다윗이 말하였다. 5 They said to the king, “ The man who consumed us and who plotted against us, that we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the borders of Israel,And they said unto the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us, that we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the borders of Israel,그들이 왕에게 말하였다. 6 let seven men of his sons be delivered to us, and we will hang them up to Yahweh in Gibeah of Saul, the chosen of Yahweh.” The king said, “ I will give them.”let seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will hang them up unto Jehovah in Gibeah of Saul, the chosen of Jehovah. And the king said, I will give them.그의 아들 일곱 사람을 우리에게 넘겨 주십시오. 그러면 우리가 여호와께서 택하신 사울의 땅 기브아에서 그들을 여호와 앞에 매달겠습니다." 왕이 말하였다. "내가 그들을 내어 주겠다."

8 But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bore to Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Merab the daughter of Saul, whom she bore to Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite.But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bare unto Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she bare to Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite:왕이 아야의 딸 리스바가 사울에게 낳은 두 아들 알모니와 므비보셋을 데려오고, 사울의 딸 미갈이 므홀랏 사람 바르실래의 아들 아드리엘에게 낳은 다섯 아들을 데려와서,
9 He delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites; and they hanged them on the mountain before Yahweh, and all seven of them fell together. 10 Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth and spread it for herself on the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water poured on them from the sky. 14 They buried the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son in the country of Benjamin in Zela, in the tomb of Kish his father; and they performed all that the king commanded. 15 The Philistines had war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines. 17 But Abishai the son of Zeruiah helped him, and struck the Philistine and killed him. Then the men of David swore to him, saying, “Don’t go out with us to battle any more, so that you don’t quench the lamp of Israel.”But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succored him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the lamp of Israel.그러나 스루야의 아들 아비새가 다윗을 도와 그 블레셋 사람을 쳐 죽였다. 그때에 다윗의 부하들이 그에게 맹세하여 말하였다. "왕께서는 다시 우리와 함께 싸움에 나가지 마십시오. 이스라엘의 등불을 꺼지게 하지 않으려 합니다."
18 After this, there was again war with the Philistines at Gob. Then Sibbecai the Hushathite killed Saph, who was of the sons of the giant.And it came to pass after this, that there was again war with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbecai the Hushathite slew Saph, who was of the sons of the giant.그 후에 다시 곱에서 블레셋 사람들과 전쟁이 있었다. 그때에 후사 사람 십브개가 거인의 자손 가운데 하나인 삽을 죽였다.
19 There was again war with the Philistines at Gob, and Elhanan the son of Jaare-Oregim the Bethlehemite killed Goliath the Gittite’s brother, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam.And there was again war with the Philistines at Gob; and Elhanan the son of Jaare-oregim the Beth-lehemite slew Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam.다시 곱에서 블레셋 사람들과 전쟁이 있었는데, 베들레헴 사람 야레오르김의 아들 엘하난이 가드 사람 골리앗의 아우를 죽였으니, 그의 창 자루는 베틀 채 같았다.
