In Iconium, they entered together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spoke that a great multitude both of Jews and of Greeks believed. And it came to pass in Iconium that they entered together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake that a great multitude both of Jews and of Greeks believed.
But the disbelieving Jews stirred up and embittered the souls of the Gentiles against the brothers. But the Jews that were disobedient stirred up the souls of the Gentiles, and made them evil affected against the brethren.
Therefore they stayed there a long time, speaking boldly in the Lord, who testified to the word of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands.Long time therefore they tarried there speaking boldly in the Lord, who bare witness unto the word of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
But the multitude of the city was divided. Part sided with the Jews and part with the apostles. But the multitude of the city was divided; and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles.
When some of both the Gentiles and the Jews, with their rulers, made a violent attempt to mistreat and stone them,And when there was made an onset both of the Gentiles and of the Jews with their rulers, to treat them shamefully and to stone them,이방 사람과 유대 사람이 그들의 관리들과 함께 두 사도를 모욕하고 돌로 치려고 난폭하게 달려들자,
they became aware of it and fled to the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra, Derbe, and the surrounding region.they became aware of it, and fled unto the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra and Derbe, and the region round about:두 사도는 이를 알아채고 루가오니아 지방의 성읍 루스드라와 더베와 그 주변 지역으로 피했다.
There they preached the Good News.and there they preached the gospel.
At Lystra a certain man sat, impotent in his feet, a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked. And at Lystra there sat a certain man, impotent in his feet, a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked.
He was listening to Paul speaking, who, fastening eyes on him and seeing that he had faith to be made whole,The same heard Paul speaking: who, fastening his eyes upon him, and seeing that he had faith to be made whole,그가 바울이 말하는 것을 듣고 있었는데, 바울이 그를 주목하여 보니 그에게 나음을 받을 만한 믿음이 있는 것을 보고,
said with a loud voice, “Stand upright on your feet!” He leaped up and walked.said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped up and walked.
When the multitude saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voice, saying in the language of Lycaonia, “ The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!”And when the multitude saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voice, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.
They called Barnabas “ Jupiter”, and Paul “Mercury”, because he was the chief speaker. And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercury, because he was the chief speaker.
The priest of Jupiter, whose temple was in front of their city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, and would have made a sacrifice along with the multitudes. And the priest of Jupiter whose temple was before the city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the multitudes.
But when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of it, they tore their clothes and sprang into the multitude, crying out,But when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of it, they rent their garments, and sprang forth among the multitude, crying out그러나 사도 바나바와 바울이 이 일을 듣고 자기 옷을 찢고 무리 가운데로 뛰어들어가 외쳤다.
“ Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men of the same nature as you, and bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to the living God, who made the sky, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them;and saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and bring you good tidings, that ye should turn from these vain things unto a living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that in them is:"여러분, 어찌하여 이런 일을 합니까?
who in the generations gone by allowed all the nations to walk in their own ways.who in the generations gone by suffered all the nations to walk in their own ways.
Yet he didn’ t leave himself without witness, in that he did good and gave you rains from the sky and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.”And yet he left not himself without witness, in that he did good and gave you from heaven rains and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness.
Even saying these things, they hardly stopped the multitudes from making a sacrifice to them. And with these sayings scarce restrained they the multitudes from doing sacrifice unto them.
But some Jews from Antioch and Iconium came there, and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he was dead. But there came Jews thither from Antioch and Iconium: and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Paul, and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he was dead.
But as the disciples stood around him, he rose up, and entered into the city. On the next day he went out with Barnabas to Derbe. But as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and entered into the city: and on the morrow he went forth with Barnabas to Derbe.
When they had preached the Good News to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch,And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, and to Iconium, and to Antioch,그 성읍에서도 복음을 전하여 많은 사람을 제자로 삼은 뒤, 그들은 루스드라와 이고니온과 안디옥으로 돌아가서,
strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that through many afflictions we must enter into God’s Kingdom.confirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that through many tribulations we must enter into the kingdom of God.
When they had appointed elders for them in every assembly, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord on whom they had believed. And when they had appointed for them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they had believed.
They passed through Pisidia and came to Pamphylia. And they passed through Pisidia, and came to Pamphylia.
When they had spoken the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia. And when they had spoken the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia;
From there they sailed to Antioch, from where they had been committed to the grace of God for the work which they had fulfilled.and thence they sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been committed to the grace of God for the work which they had fulfilled.
When they had arrived and had gathered the assembly together, they reported all the things that God had done with them, and that he had opened a door of faith to the nations. And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all things that God had done with them, and that he had opened a door of faith unto the Gentiles.
They stayed there with the disciples for a long time. And they tarried no little time with the disciples.
