2 The twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, “ It is not appropriate for us to forsake the word of God and serve tables.And the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not fit that we should forsake the word of God, and serve tables.그래서 열두 사도가 제자들의 무리를 불러 모아 말했습니다. "우리가 하나님의 말씀을 제쳐 두고 식탁 시중을 드는 것은 마땅하지 않습니다.
3 Therefore, select from among you, brothers, seven men of good report, full of the Holy Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.Look ye out therefore, brethren, from among you seven men of good report, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.그러니 형제들이여, 여러분 가운데서 평판이 좋고 성령과 지혜가 충만한 사람 일곱을 뽑으십시오. 우리가 그들에게 이 일을 맡기겠습니다.

5 These words pleased the whole multitude. 7 The word of God increased and the number of the disciples greatly multiplied in Jerusalem. 8 Stephen, full of faith and power, performed great wonders and signs among the people.And Stephen, full of grace and power, wrought great wonders and signs among the people.스데반은 믿음과 능력이 충만하여 백성 가운데서 큰 기적과 표적을 행했습니다.
9 But some of those who were of the synagogue called “ The Libertines”, and of the Cyrenians, of the Alexandrians, and of those of Cilicia and Asia arose, disputing with Stephen.But there arose certain of them that were of the synagogue called the synagogue of the Libertines, and of the Cyrenians, and of the Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and Asia, disputing with Stephen.그런데 이른바 "자유민"이라 불리는 회당에 속한 사람들과 구레네 사람들과 알렉산드리아 사람들과 길리기아와 아시아 출신 사람들 가운데 몇몇이 일어나 스데반과 논쟁을 벌였습니다.
10 They weren’ t able to withstand the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke.And they were not able to withstand the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spake.그러나 그들은 스데반이 말할 때 함께하신 지혜와 성령을 당해 낼 수 없었습니다.
11 Then they secretly induced men to say, “ We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God.”Then they suborned men, who said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God.그러자 그들은 몰래 사람들을 사주하여 이렇게 말하게 했습니다. "우리는 이 사람이 모세와 하나님을 모독하는 말을 하는 것을 들었습니다."
