1 Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;그러므로 우리가 믿음으로 의롭게 되었으니, 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 통하여 하나님과 더불어 화평을 누립니다.
2 through whom we also have our access by faith into this grace in which we stand. We rejoice in hope of the glory of God.through whom also we have had our access by faith into this grace wherein we stand; and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.또한 그분을 통하여 우리는 믿음으로 지금 서 있는 이 은혜에 들어가게 되었고, 하나님의 영광을 바라며 기뻐합니다.
3 Not only this, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces perseverance;And not only so, but we also rejoice in our tribulations: knowing that tribulation worketh stedfastness;이뿐 아니라 우리는 환난 가운데서도 기뻐합니다. 환난은 인내를 이루어 낸다는 것을 알기 때문입니다.
4 and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;and stedfastness, approvedness; and approvedness, hope:그리고 인내는 연단된 인격을, 연단된 인격은 소망을 이루어 냅니다.
5 and hope doesn’ t disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.and hope putteth not to shame; because the love of God hath been shed abroad in our hearts through the Holy Spirit which was given unto us.이 소망은 우리를 부끄럽게 하지 않습니다. 우리에게 주신 성령으로 말미암아 하나님의 사랑이 우리 마음에 부어졌기 때문입니다.
6 For while we were yet weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.For while we were yet weak, in due season Christ died for the ungodly.우리가 아직 연약할 때에, 정한 때가 되어 그리스도께서 경건하지 못한 사람들을 위하여 죽으셨습니다.
7 For one will hardly die for a righteous man. Yet perhaps for a good person someone would even dare to die.For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: for peradventure for the good man some one would even dare to die.의로운 사람을 위하여 죽는 사람도 거의 없습니다. 그러나 선한 사람을 위하여서는 혹시 감히 죽으려는 사람이 있을지도 모릅니다.
8 But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.But God commendeth his own love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.그러나 우리가 아직 죄인이었을 때에 그리스도께서 우리를 위하여 죽으셨으니, 하나님께서 이것으로 우리를 향한 자신의 사랑을 나타내십니다.
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we will be saved from God’s wrath through him.Much more then, being now justified by his blood, shall we be saved from the wrath of God through him.그러므로 이제 우리가 그분의 피로 의롭게 되었으니, 더욱더 그분으로 말미암아 하나님의 진노에서 구원을 받을 것입니다.
10 For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we will be saved by his life.For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, shall we be saved by his life;우리가 원수 되었을 때에도 그분의 아들의 죽으심으로 하나님과 화목하게 되었다면, 화목하게 된 우리가 그분의 생명으로 말미암아 더욱더 구원을 받을 것입니다.
11 Not only so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.and not only so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.이뿐 아니라 우리는 지금 화목하게 하심을 받게 한 우리 주 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 하나님 안에서 기뻐합니다.
12 Therefore, as sin entered into the world through one man, and death through sin, so death passed to all men because all sinned.Therefore, as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin; and so death passed unto all men, for that all sinned:—그러므로 한 사람으로 말미암아 죄가 세상에 들어오고, 죄로 말미암아 죽음이 들어온 것같이, 모든 사람이 죄를 지었으므로 죽음이 모든 사람에게 이르렀습니다.
13 For until the law, sin was in the world; but sin is not charged when there is no law.for until the law sin was in the world; but sin is not imputed when there is no law.율법이 있기 전에도 죄가 세상에 있었으나, 율법이 없을 때에는 죄를 따지지 않습니다.
14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those whose sins weren’ t like Adam’s disobedience, who is a foreshadowing of him who was to come.Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the likeness of Adam’s transgression, who is a figure of him that was to come.그러나 아담으로부터 모세에 이르기까지, 아담의 범죄와 같은 죄를 짓지 않은 사람들까지도 죽음이 다스렸습니다. 아담은 오실 그분의 모형입니다.
15 But the free gift isn’ t like the trespass. For if by the trespass of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many.But not as the trespass, so also is the free gift. For if by the trespass of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God, and the gift by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abound unto the many.그러나 거저 주시는 은혜의 선물은 범죄와 같지 않습니다. 한 사람의 범죄로 많은 사람이 죽었다면, 하나님의 은혜와 또한 한 사람 예수 그리스도의 은혜로 주시는 선물은 더욱더 많은 사람에게 넘치게 되었습니다.
16 The gift is not as through one who sinned; for the judgment came by one to condemnation, but the free gift followed many trespasses to justification.And not as through one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment came of one unto condemnation, but the free gift came of many trespasses unto justification.또 이 선물은 한 사람이 죄지은 결과와 같지 않습니다. 심판은 한 사람으로 말미암아 정죄에 이르렀으나, 거저 주시는 선물은 많은 범죄로부터 의롭다 하심에 이르게 합니다.
17 For if by the trespass of the one, death reigned through the one; so much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one, Jesus Christ.For if, by the trespass of the one, death reigned through the one; much more shall they that receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one, even Jesus Christ.한 사람의 범죄로 말미암아 그 한 사람으로 죽음이 다스렸다면, 넘치는 은혜와 의의 선물을 받는 사람들은 더욱더 한 사람 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 생명 안에서 다스릴 것입니다.
18 So then as through one trespass, all men were condemned; even so through one act of righteousness, all men were justified to life.So then as through one trespass the judgment came unto all men to condemnation; even so through one act of righteousness the free gift came unto all men to justification of life.그러므로 한 범죄로 모든 사람이 정죄에 이른 것같이, 한 의로운 행위로 모든 사람이 의롭다 하심을 받아 생명에 이르게 되었습니다.
19 For as through the one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the one, many will be made righteous.For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the one shall the many be made righteous.한 사람의 불순종으로 많은 사람이 죄인이 된 것같이, 한 사람의 순종으로 많은 사람이 의롭게 될 것입니다.
20 The law came in that the trespass might abound; but where sin abounded, grace abounded more exceedingly,And the law came in besides, that the trespass might abound; but where sin abounded, grace did abound more exceedingly:율법이 들어온 것은 범죄를 더하게 하려는 것이었으나, 죄가 더한 곳에 은혜가 더욱더 넘쳤습니다.
21 that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.that, as sin reigned in death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.이는 죄가 죽음 안에서 다스린 것같이, 은혜도 의로 말미암아 다스려 우리 주 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 영생에 이르게 하려는 것입니다.
