1 The child Samuel ministered to Yahweh before Eli. Yahweh’s word was rare in those days. There were not many visions, then.And the child Samuel ministered unto Jehovah before Eli. And the word of Jehovah was precious in those days; there was no frequent vision.어린 사무엘이 엘리 앞에서 여호와를 섬기고 있었습니다. 그때에는 여호와의 말씀이 귀하여, 환상도 자주 나타나지 않았습니다.
2 At that time, when Eli was laid down in his place ( now his eyes had begun to grow dim, so that he could not see ),And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place ( now his eyes had begun to wax dim, so that he could not see ),그 무렵 엘리의 눈이 점점 어두워져 잘 볼 수 없게 되었는데, 어느 날 그가 자기 자리에 누워 있었습니다.
3 and God’s lamp hadn’t yet gone out, and Samuel had laid down in Yahweh’s temple where God’s ark was,and the lamp of God was not yet gone out, and Samuel was laid down to sleep, in the temple of Jehovah, where the ark of God was;하나님의 등불이 아직 꺼지지 않았고, 사무엘은 하나님의 궤가 있는 여호와의 성전에 누워 있었습니다.
4 Yahweh called Samuel. He said, “ Here I am.”that Jehovah called Samuel: and he said, Here am I.그때 여호와께서 사무엘을 부르셨습니다. 그가 "제가 여기 있습니다" 하고 대답했습니다.
5 He ran to Eli and said, “ Here I am; for you called me.” He said, “ I didn’t call. Lie down again.” He went and lay down.And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down.그는 엘리에게 달려가 말했습니다. "제가 여기 있습니다. 저를 부르셨지요." 엘리가 말했습니다. "나는 부르지 않았다. 다시 가서 누워라." 그래서 그는 가서 누웠습니다.
6 Yahweh called yet again, “ Samuel!” Samuel arose and went to Eli and said, “ Here I am; for you called me.” He answered, “ I didn’t call, my son. Lie down again.”And Jehovah called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again.여호와께서 또다시 부르셨습니다. "사무엘아!" 사무엘이 일어나 엘리에게 가서 말했습니다. "제가 여기 있습니다. 저를 부르셨지요." 엘리가 대답했습니다. "내 아들아, 나는 부르지 않았다. 다시 가서 누워라."
7 Now Samuel didn’t yet know Yahweh, neither was Yahweh’s word yet revealed to him.Now Samuel did not yet know Jehovah, neither was the word of Jehovah yet revealed unto him.사무엘은 아직 여호와를 알지 못했고, 여호와의 말씀이 그에게 나타난 적도 없었습니다.
8 Yahweh called Samuel again the third time. He arose and went to Eli and said, “ Here I am; for you called me.” Eli perceived that Yahweh had called the child.And Jehovah called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And Eli perceived that Jehovah had called the child.여호와께서 세 번째로 다시 사무엘을 부르셨습니다. 그가 일어나 엘리에게 가서 말했습니다. "제가 여기 있습니다. 저를 부르셨지요." 그제야 엘리는 여호와께서 그 아이를 부르신 것을 깨달았습니다.
9 Therefore Eli said to Samuel, “ Go, lie down. It shall be, if he calls you, that you shall say, ‘ Speak, Yahweh; for your servant hears.’” So Samuel went and lay down in his place.Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, Jehovah; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.그래서 엘리가 사무엘에게 말했습니다. "가서 누워라. 만일 그분이 너를 부르시거든 '여호와여, 말씀하소서. 주의 종이 듣고 있습니다' 하고 대답하여라." 그래서 사무엘은 가서 자기 자리에 누웠습니다.
10 Yahweh came, and stood, and called as at other times, “ Samuel! Samuel!” Then Samuel said, “ Speak; for your servant hears.”And Jehovah came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel said, Speak; for thy servant heareth.여호와께서 오셔서 서시고는, 전과 같이 부르셨습니다. "사무엘아! 사무엘아!" 그러자 사무엘이 대답했습니다. "말씀하소서. 주의 종이 듣고 있습니다."
11 Yahweh said to Samuel, “ Behold, I will do a thing in Israel at which both the ears of everyone who hears it will tingle.And Jehovah said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle.여호와께서 사무엘에게 말씀하셨습니다. "보아라, 내가 이스라엘에 한 가지 일을 행하리니, 그것을 듣는 모든 사람의 두 귀가 울릴 것이다.
12 In that day I will perform against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from the beginning even to the end.In that day I will perform against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from the beginning even unto the end.그날에 내가 엘리의 집에 대하여 말한 모든 것을 처음부터 끝까지 그에게 다 이루겠다.
13 For I have told him that I will judge his house forever for the iniquity which he knew, because his sons brought a curse on themselves, and he didn’t restrain them.For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever, for the iniquity which he knew, because his sons did bring a curse upon themselves, and he restrained them not.내가 그의 집을 영원히 심판하겠다고 그에게 말한 것은, 그가 아는 죄악 때문이다. 그의 아들들이 스스로 저주를 불러들였는데도 그가 그들을 막지 않았기 때문이다.
14 Therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli that the iniquity of Eli’s house shall not be removed with sacrifice or offering forever.”And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli’s house shall not be expiated with sacrifice nor offering for ever.그러므로 내가 엘리의 집에 대하여 맹세하였으니, 엘리 집안의 죄악은 제사로도 예물로도 영원히 속죄되지 못할 것이다."
15 Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of Yahweh’s house. Samuel was afraid to show Eli the vision.And Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of the house of Jehovah. And Samuel feared to show Eli the vision.사무엘은 아침까지 누워 있다가, 여호와의 집의 문들을 열었습니다. 그러나 사무엘은 그 환상을 엘리에게 알리기를 두려워했습니다.
16 Then Eli called Samuel and said, “ Samuel, my son!” He said, “ Here I am.”Then Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he said, Here am I.그때 엘리가 사무엘을 불러 말했습니다. "내 아들 사무엘아!" 그가 대답했습니다. "제가 여기 있습니다."
17 He said, “ What is the thing that he has spoken to you? Please don’t hide it from me. God do so to you, and more also, if you hide anything from me of all the things that he spoke to you.”And he said, What is the thing that Jehovah hath spoken unto thee? I pray thee, hide it not from me: God do so to thee, and more also, if thou hide anything from me of all the things that he spake unto thee.엘리가 말했습니다. "그분이 네게 무슨 말씀을 하셨느냐? 제발 내게 숨기지 마라. 그분이 네게 하신 모든 말씀 가운데 하나라도 내게 숨긴다면, 하나님이 네게 벌을 내리시고 더 내리시기를 바란다."
18 Samuel told him every bit, and hid nothing from him. He said, “ It is Yahweh. Let him do what seems good to him.”And Samuel told him every whit, and hid nothing from him. And he said, It is Jehovah: let him do what seemeth him good.그래서 사무엘은 그에게 모든 것을 낱낱이 알리고 아무것도 숨기지 않았습니다. 엘리가 말했습니다. "그분은 여호와시다. 그분이 보시기에 좋으신 대로 하시기를 바란다."
19 Samuel grew, and Yahweh was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground.And Samuel grew, and Jehovah was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.사무엘이 자라는 동안 여호와께서 그와 함께하셔서, 그의 말이 하나도 땅에 떨어지지 않게 하셨습니다.
20 All Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of Yahweh.And all Israel from Dan even to Beer-sheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of Jehovah.단에서 브엘세바까지 온 이스라엘이 사무엘이 여호와의 선지자로 세워진 것을 알았습니다.
21 Yahweh appeared again in Shiloh; for Yahweh revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by Yahweh’s word.And Jehovah appeared again in Shiloh; for Jehovah revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of Jehovah.여호와께서 실로에서 다시 나타나셨습니다. 여호와께서 여호와의 말씀으로 실로에서 사무엘에게 자신을 나타내신 것입니다.
