1 David therefore departed from there and escaped to Adullam’s cave. When his brothers and all his father’s house heard it, they went down there to him.David therefore departed thence, and escaped to the cave of Adullam: and when his brethren and all his father’s house heard it, they went down thither to him.그래서 다윗은 그곳을 떠나 아둘람 굴로 피신했다. 그의 형제들과 그의 아버지 집안 모두가 이 소식을 듣고 그곳으로 그에게 내려갔다.
2 Everyone who was in distress, everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered themselves to him; and he became captain over them. There were with him about four hundred men.And every one that was in distress, and every one that was in debt, and every one that was discontented, gathered themselves unto him; and he became captain over them: and there were with him about four hundred men.고난을 당한 사람마다, 빚진 사람마다, 마음에 불만이 있는 사람마다 그에게로 모여들었고, 그는 그들의 우두머리가 되었다. 그와 함께한 사람이 사백 명쯤 되었다.
3 David went from there to Mizpeh of Moab; and he said to the king of Moab, “ Please let my father and my mother come out to you, until I know what God will do for me.”And David went thence to Mizpeh of Moab: and he said unto the king of Moab, Let my father and my mother, I pray thee, come forth, and be with you, till I know what God will do for me.다윗은 그곳을 떠나 모압의 미스베로 가서 모압 왕에게 말했다. "하나님께서 나를 위해 어떻게 하실지 알게 될 때까지, 제 아버지와 어머니가 나와서 임금님과 함께 지내게 해 주십시오."
4 He brought them before the king of Moab; and they lived with him all the time that David was in the stronghold.And he brought them before the king of Moab: and they dwelt with him all the while that David was in the stronghold.그는 부모를 모압 왕 앞으로 데려갔고, 다윗이 산성에 머무는 동안 그들은 줄곧 왕과 함께 지냈다.
5 The prophet Gad said to David, “Don’t stay in the stronghold. Depart, and go into the land of Judah.” Then David departed, and came into the forest of Hereth.And the prophet Gad said unto David, Abide not in the stronghold; depart, and get thee into the land of Judah. Then David departed, and came into the forest of Hereth.선지자 갓이 다윗에게 말했다. "산성에 머물지 마십시오. 떠나서 유다 땅으로 들어가십시오." 그래서 다윗은 떠나 헤렛 숲으로 갔다.
6 Saul heard that David was discovered, with the men who were with him. Now Saul was sitting in Gibeah, under the tamarisk tree in Ramah, with his spear in his hand, and all his servants were standing around him.And Saul heard that David was discovered, and the men that were with him: now Saul was sitting in Gibeah, under the tamarisk-tree in Ramah, with his spear in his hand, and all his servants were standing about him.사울은 다윗과 그와 함께한 사람들이 발견되었다는 소식을 들었다. 그때 사울은 기브아에서 라마의 에셀 나무 아래 손에 창을 들고 앉아 있었고, 그의 신하들이 모두 그를 둘러서 있었다.
7 Saul said to his servants who stood around him, “ Hear now, you Benjamites! Will the son of Jesse give everyone of you fields and vineyards? Will he make you all captains of thousands and captains of hundreds?And Saul said unto his servants that stood about him, Hear now, ye Benjamites; will the son of Jesse give every one of you fields and vineyards, will he make you all captains of thousands and captains of hundreds,사울이 자기를 둘러선 신하들에게 말했다. "이제 들어라, 베냐민 사람들아! 이새의 아들이 너희 모두에게 밭과 포도원을 주겠느냐? 너희 모두를 천부장과 백부장으로 삼겠느냐?
8 Is that why all of you have conspired against me, and there is no one who discloses to me when my son makes a treaty with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you who is sorry for me, or discloses to me that my son has stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as it is today?”that all of you have conspired against me, and there is none that discloseth to me when my son maketh a league with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you that is sorry for me, or discloseth unto me that my son hath stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?그런데 너희가 모두 나를 거슬러 음모를 꾸미고, 내 아들이 이새의 아들과 언약을 맺어도 내게 알려 주는 자가 하나도 없고, 나를 가엾게 여기는 자도, 내 아들이 내 신하를 부추겨 오늘날처럼 나를 노리고 숨어 기다리게 했다고 알려 주는 자도 하나 없구나."
9 Then Doeg the Edomite, who stood by the servants of Saul, answered and said, “ I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub.Then answered Doeg the Edomite, who stood by the servants of Saul, and said, I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub.그때 사울의 신하들 곁에 서 있던 에돔 사람 도엑이 대답하여 말했다. "제가 이새의 아들이 놉에 와서 아히둡의 아들 아히멜렉에게 가는 것을 보았습니다.
10 He inquired of Yahweh for him, gave him food, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.”And he inquired of Jehovah for him, and gave him victuals, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.아히멜렉은 그를 위해 여호와께 물어보았고, 그에게 먹을 것을 주었으며, 블레셋 사람 골리앗의 칼도 주었습니다."
11 Then the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father’s house, the priests who were in Nob; and they all came to the king.Then the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father’s house, the priests that were in Nob: and they came all of them to the king.그러자 왕은 사람을 보내 제사장 아히둡의 아들 아히멜렉과 놉에 있던 그의 아버지 집안 곧 제사장들을 모두 불러오게 했고, 그들이 모두 왕에게 왔다.
12 Saul said, “ Hear now, you son of Ahitub.” He answered, “ Here I am, my lord.”And Saul said, Hear now, thou son of Ahitub. And he answered, Here I am, my lord.사울이 말했다. "이제 들어라, 아히둡의 아들아." 그가 대답했다. "제가 여기 있습니다, 내 주여."
13 Saul said to him, “ Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, in that you have given him bread, and a sword, and have inquired of God for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in wait, as it is today?”And Saul said unto him, Why have ye conspired against me, thou and the son of Jesse, in that thou hast given him bread, and a sword, and hast inquired of God for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?사울이 그에게 말했다. "어찌하여 너와 이새의 아들이 나를 거슬러 음모를 꾸몄느냐? 네가 그에게 빵과 칼을 주고 그를 위해 하나님께 물어보아, 그가 오늘날처럼 나를 거슬러 일어나 숨어 기다리게 하지 않았느냐?"
14 Then Ahimelech answered the king, and said, “ Who among all your servants is so faithful as David, who is the king’s son-in-law, captain of your body guard, and honored in your house?Then Ahimelech answered the king, and said, And who among all thy servants is so faithful as David, who is the king’s son-in-law, and is taken into thy council, and is honorable in thy house?그러자 아히멜렉이 왕에게 대답하여 말했다. "임금님의 모든 신하 가운데 다윗만큼 충성스러운 자가 누가 있습니까? 그는 왕의 사위요, 왕의 호위대장이며, 왕의 집안에서 존귀히 여김을 받는 자입니다.
15 Have I today begun to inquire of God for him? Be it far from me! Don’t let the king impute anything to his servant, nor to all the house of my father; for your servant knew nothing of all this, less or more.”Have I to-day begun to inquire of God for him? be it far from me: let not the king impute anything unto his servant, nor to all the house of my father; for thy servant knoweth nothing of all this, less or more.제가 오늘 그를 위해 하나님께 묻기 시작한 것입니까? 결코 그렇지 않습니다! 임금님께서는 이 종이나 제 아버지의 온 집안에 아무 죄도 돌리지 마십시오. 이 종은 이 모든 일에 대해 많든 적든 아무것도 알지 못합니다."
16 The king said, “ You shall surely die, Ahimelech, you and all your father’s house.”And the king said, Thou shalt surely die, Ahimelech, thou, and all thy father’s house.왕이 말했다. "아히멜렉아, 너는 반드시 죽으리라. 너와 네 아버지의 온 집안이 다 죽으리라."
17 The king said to the guard who stood about him, “ Turn and kill the priests of Yahweh, because their hand also is with David, and because they knew that he fled and didn’t disclose it to me.” But the servants of the king wouldn’t put out their hand to fall on the priests of Yahweh.And the king said unto the guard that stood about him, Turn, and slay the priests of Jehovah; because their hand also is with David, and because they knew that he fled, and did not disclose it to me. But the servants of the king would not put forth their hand to fall upon the priests of Jehovah.왕이 자기를 둘러선 호위병들에게 말했다. "돌아서서 여호와의 제사장들을 죽여라. 그들의 손도 다윗과 함께했고, 그들은 다윗이 도망친 것을 알면서도 내게 알리지 않았다." 그러나 왕의 신하들은 손을 내밀어 여호와의 제사장들을 치려 하지 않았다.
18 The king said to Doeg, “ Turn and attack the priests!” Doeg the Edomite turned, and he attacked the priests, and he killed on that day eighty-five people who wore a linen ephod.And the king said to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned, and he fell upon the priests, and he slew on that day fourscore and five persons that did wear a linen ephod.왕이 도엑에게 말했다. "너는 돌아서서 제사장들을 쳐라!" 그러자 에돔 사람 도엑이 돌아서서 제사장들을 쳤고, 그날 베 에봇을 입은 사람 여든다섯 명을 죽였다.
19 He struck Nob, the city of the priests, with the edge of the sword —both men and women, children and nursing babies, and cattle, donkeys, and sheep, with the edge of the sword.And Nob, the city of the priests, smote he with the edge of the sword, both men and women, children and sucklings, and oxen and asses and sheep, with the edge of the sword.또 그는 제사장들의 성읍 놉을 칼날로 쳤으니, 남자와 여자, 아이와 젖먹이, 소와 나귀와 양까지 칼날로 쳤다.
20 One of the sons of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped and fled after David.And one of the sons of Ahimelech, the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped, and fled after David.아히둡의 아들 아히멜렉의 아들 가운데 아비아달이라는 한 사람이 피하여 다윗에게로 도망쳤다.
21 Abiathar told David that Saul had slain Yahweh’s priests.And Abiathar told David that Saul had slain Jehovah’s priests.아비아달은 사울이 여호와의 제사장들을 죽였다고 다윗에게 알렸다.
22 David said to Abiathar, “ I knew on that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul. I am responsible for the death of all the persons of your father’s house.And David said unto Abiathar, I knew on that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul: I have occasioned the death of all the persons of thy father’s house.다윗이 아비아달에게 말했다. "에돔 사람 도엑이 거기 있던 그날, 나는 그가 반드시 사울에게 알릴 줄 알았소. 그대 아버지 집안 모든 사람의 죽음에 내가 책임이 있소.
23 Stay with me. Don’t be afraid, for he who seeks my life seeks your life. You will be safe with me.”Abide thou with me, fear not; for he that seeketh my life seeketh thy life: for with me thou shalt be in safeguard.나와 함께 머무시오. 두려워하지 마시오. 내 생명을 노리는 자가 그대의 생명도 노리니, 그대는 나와 함께 있으면 안전할 것이오."
