1 Now the Philistines gathered together all their armies to Aphek; and the Israelites encamped by the spring which is in Jezreel.Now the Philistines gathered together all their hosts to Aphek: and the Israelites encamped by the fountain which is in Jezreel.그때 블레셋 사람들은 자기들의 모든 군대를 아벡으로 집결시켰고, 이스라엘 사람들은 이스르엘에 있는 샘 곁에 진을 쳤다.
2 The lords of the Philistines passed on by hundreds and by thousands; and David and his men passed on in the rear with Achish.And the lords of the Philistines passed on by hundreds, and by thousands; and David and his men passed on in the rearward with Achish.블레셋 사람들의 영주들은 수백 명씩, 수천 명씩 부대를 이끌고 나아갔고, 다윗과 그의 부하들은 아기스와 함께 맨 뒤에서 따라갔다.
3 Then the princes of the Philistines said, “ What about these Hebrews?” Achish said to the princes of the Philistines, “Isn’t this David, the servant of Saul the king of Israel, who has been with me these days, or rather these years? I have found no fault in him since he fell away until today.”Then said the princes of the Philistines, What do these Hebrews here? And Achish said unto the princes of the Philistines, Is not this David, the servant of Saul the king of Israel, who hath been with me these days, or rather these years, and I have found no fault in him since he fell away unto me unto this day?그러자 블레셋 사람들의 지휘관들이 물었다. "이 히브리 사람들은 어찌 된 일이오?" 아기스가 블레셋 사람들의 지휘관들에게 대답했다. "이 사람은 이스라엘 왕 사울의 신하였던 다윗이 아니오? 그가 나와 함께 지낸 지 여러 날, 아니 여러 해가 되었는데, 그가 사울에게서 떠나 내게 온 날부터 오늘까지 나는 그에게서 아무 허물도 찾지 못하였소."
4 But the princes of the Philistines were angry with him; and the princes of the Philistines said to him, “ Make the man return, that he may go back to his place where you have appointed him, and let him not go down with us to battle, lest in the battle he become an adversary to us. For with what should this fellow reconcile himself to his lord? Should it not be with the heads of these men?But the princes of the Philistines were wroth with him; and the princes of the Philistines said unto him, Make the man return, that he may go back to his place where thou hast appointed him, and let him not go down with us to battle, lest in the battle he become an adversary to us: for wherewith should this fellow reconcile himself unto his lord? should it not be with the heads of these men?그러나 블레셋 사람들의 지휘관들은 아기스에게 화를 내며 말했다. "그 사람을 돌려보내, 당신이 정해 준 그의 처소로 되돌아가게 하시오. 그가 우리와 함께 전쟁터로 내려가지 못하게 하시오. 싸움 중에 그가 우리의 대적이 될까 두렵소. 이 사람이 무엇으로 자기 주인의 환심을 다시 사려 하겠소? 바로 우리 부하들의 머리를 베어 바치는 것으로 하지 않겠소?
5 Isn’t this David, of whom people sang to one another in dances, saying, ‘ Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands’?”Is not this David, of whom they sang one to another in dances, saying, Saul hath slain his thousands, And David his ten thousands?이 사람이 바로 그 다윗이 아니오? 사람들이 춤추며 서로 화답하여 '사울이 죽인 자는 수천이요, 다윗이 죽인 자는 수만이라' 하고 노래하던 그 다윗 말이오."
6 Then Achish called David and said to him, “ As Yahweh lives, you have been upright, and your going out and your coming in with me in the army is good in my sight; for I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me to this day. Nevertheless, the lords don’t favor you.Then Achish called David, and said unto him, As Jehovah liveth, thou hast been upright, and thy going out and thy coming in with me in the host is good in my sight; for I have not found evil in thee since the day of thy coming unto me unto this day: nevertheless the lords favor thee not.그래서 아기스가 다윗을 불러 말했다. "여호와께서 살아 계심을 두고 맹세하지만, 그대는 정직한 사람이오. 그대가 군대에서 나와 함께 나가고 들어오는 것이 내 눈에 좋아 보였소. 그대가 내게 온 날부터 오늘까지 나는 그대에게서 아무런 악도 찾지 못했소. 그러나 영주들은 그대를 좋게 여기지 않소.
7 Therefore now return, and go in peace, that you not displease the lords of the Philistines.”Wherefore now return, and go in peace, that thou displease not the lords of the Philistines.그러니 이제는 돌아가시오. 평안히 가서 블레셋 사람들의 영주들이 언짢아하지 않게 하시오."
8 David said to Achish, “ But what have I done? What have you found in your servant so long as I have been before you to this day, that I may not go and fight against the enemies of my lord the king?”And David said unto Achish, But what have I done? and what hast thou found in thy servant so long as I have been before thee unto this day, that I may not go and fight against the enemies of my lord the king?다윗이 아기스에게 말했다. "제가 무엇을 잘못했습니까? 제가 왕께 온 날부터 오늘까지 왕을 모시는 동안에 왕께서 이 종에게서 무슨 허물을 찾으셨기에, 제가 가서 내 주이신 왕의 원수들과 싸우지 못하게 하십니까?"
9 Achish answered David, “ I know that you are good in my sight, as an angel of God. Notwithstanding, the princes of the Philistines have said, ‘ He shall not go up with us to the battle.’And Achish answered and said to David, I know that thou art good in my sight, as an angel of God: notwithstanding the princes of the Philistines have said, He shall not go up with us to the battle.아기스가 다윗에게 대답했다. "그대가 내 눈에 하나님의 천사처럼 선한 줄을 나는 아오. 그렇지만 블레셋 사람들의 지휘관들이 '그는 우리와 함께 전쟁터로 올라가지 못한다'라고 말하였소.
10 Therefore now rise up early in the morning with the servants of your lord who have come with you; and as soon as you are up early in the morning and have light, depart.”Wherefore now rise up early in the morning with the servants of thy lord that are come with thee; and as soon as ye are up early in the morning, and have light, depart.그러니 이제 그대의 주인의 신하들, 곧 그대와 함께 온 자들과 더불어 아침 일찍 일어나시오. 아침에 일찍 일어나 날이 밝거든 떠나시오."
11 So David rose up early, he and his men, to depart in the morning, to return into the land of the Philistines; and the Philistines went up to Jezreel.So David rose up early, he and his men, to depart in the morning, to return into the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel.그래서 다윗과 그의 부하들은 아침 일찍 일어나, 블레셋 사람들의 땅으로 돌아가려고 떠났다. 그리고 블레셋 사람들은 이스르엘로 올라갔다.
