1 Hannah prayed, and said, “ My heart exults in Yahweh! My horn is exalted in Yahweh. My mouth is enlarged over my enemies, because I rejoice in your salvation.And Hannah prayed, and said: My heart exulteth in Jehovah; My horn is exalted in Jehovah; My mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; Because I rejoice in thy salvation.한나가 기도하며 말하였다. "내 마음이 여호와 안에서 기뻐 뛰며 내 뿔이 여호와 안에서 높이 들렸습니다. 내가 주의 구원을 기뻐하므로 내 입이 내 원수들을 향하여 크게 열립니다.
2 There is no one as holy as Yahweh, for there is no one besides you, nor is there any rock like our God.There is none holy as Jehovah; For there is none besides thee, Neither is there any rock like our God.여호와처럼 거룩하신 분은 없습니다. 주 외에 다른 이가 없으며 우리 하나님 같은 반석도 없습니다.
3 “Don’t keep talking so exceedingly proudly. Don’t let arrogance come out of your mouth, for Yahweh is a God of knowledge. By him actions are weighed.Talk no more so exceeding proudly; Let not arrogancy come out of your mouth; For Jehovah is a God of knowledge, And by him actions are weighed.더 이상 그렇게 심히 교만하게 말하지 마십시오. 거만한 말을 입 밖에 내지 마십시오. 여호와는 지식의 하나님이시니 그분께서 모든 행위를 저울에 다십니다.
4 “The bows of the mighty men are broken. Those who stumbled are armed with strength.The bows of the mighty men are broken; And they that stumbled are girded with strength.용사들의 활은 꺾이고 넘어지던 자들은 힘으로 띠를 둘렀습니다.
5 Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread. Those who were hungry are satisfied. Yes, the barren has borne seven. She who has many children languishes.They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; And they that were hungry have ceased to hunger: Yea, the barren hath borne seven; And she that hath many children languisheth.배부르던 자들은 양식을 얻으려고 자기를 품팔이로 내놓고, 굶주리던 자들은 더 이상 굶주리지 않습니다. 자식을 낳지 못하던 여인은 일곱을 낳았으나 자녀가 많던 여인은 쇠약해집니다.
6 “ Yahweh kills and makes alive. He brings down to Sheol and brings up.Jehovah killeth, and maketh alive: He bringeth down to Sheol, and bringeth up.여호와는 죽이기도 하시고 살리기도 하시며, 스올로 내려가게도 하시고 다시 올라오게도 하십니다.
7 Yahweh makes poor and makes rich. He brings low, he also lifts up.Jehovah maketh poor, and maketh rich: He bringeth low, he also lifteth up.여호와는 가난하게도 하시고 부하게도 하시며, 낮추기도 하시고 높이기도 하십니다.
8 He raises up the poor out of the dust. He lifts up the needy from the dunghill to make them sit with princes and inherit the throne of glory. For the pillars of the earth are Yahweh’s. He has set the world on them.He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, He lifteth up the needy from the dunghill, To make them sit with princes, And inherit the throne of glory: For the pillars of the earth are Jehovah’s, And he hath set the world upon them.그분께서 가난한 자를 티끌 가운데서 일으키시고 궁핍한 자를 거름더미에서 들어 올리셔서, 그들을 귀족들과 함께 앉게 하시며 영광의 보좌를 차지하게 하십니다. 땅의 기둥들이 여호와의 것이니 그분께서 그 위에 세상을 두셨습니다.
9 He will keep the feet of his holy ones, but the wicked will be put to silence in darkness; for no man will prevail by strength.He will keep the feet of his holy ones; But the wicked shall be put to silence in darkness; For by strength shall no man prevail.그분께서 자기의 거룩한 자들의 발을 지켜 주시지만, 악인들은 어둠 속에서 잠잠하게 되리니, 사람이 힘으로는 이기지 못하기 때문입니다.
10 Those who strive with Yahweh shall be broken to pieces. He will thunder against them in the sky. “ Yahweh will judge the ends of the earth. He will give strength to his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.”They that strive with Jehovah shall be broken to pieces; Against them will he thunder in heaven: Jehovah will judge the ends of the earth; And he will give strength unto his king, And exalt the horn of his anointed.여호와와 다투는 자들은 산산이 부서질 것입니다. 그분께서 하늘에서 그들을 향해 천둥을 치실 것입니다. 여호와께서 땅끝까지 심판하시며 자기의 왕에게 힘을 주시고 자기가 기름 부으신 이의 뿔을 높이실 것입니다."
11 Elkanah went to Ramah to his house. The child served Yahweh before Eli the priest.And Elkanah went to Ramah to his house. And the child did minister unto Jehovah before Eli the priest.엘가나는 라마에 있는 자기 집으로 돌아갔다. 그 아이는 제사장 엘리 앞에서 여호와를 섬겼다.
12 Now the sons of Eli were wicked men. They didn’t know Yahweh.Now the sons of Eli were base men; they knew not Jehovah.그런데 엘리의 아들들은 불량한 자들이어서 여호와를 알지 못하였다.
13 The custom of the priests with the people was that when anyone offered a sacrifice, the priest’s servant came while the meat was boiling, with a fork of three teeth in his hand;And the custom of the priests with the people was, that, when any man offered sacrifice, the priest’s servant came, while the flesh was boiling, with a flesh-hook of three teeth in his hand;제사장들이 백성을 대하는 관례는 이러하였다. 누구든지 제사를 드릴 때면 고기를 삶는 동안 제사장의 종이 세 갈래 갈고리를 손에 들고 와서,
14 and he stabbed it into the pan, or kettle, or cauldron, or pot. The priest took all that the fork brought up for himself. They did this to all the Israelites who came there to Shiloh.and he struck it into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; all that the flesh-hook brought up the priest took therewith. So they did in Shiloh unto all the Israelites that came thither.그것을 냄비나 솥이나 큰 솥이나 가마에 찔러 넣어, 갈고리에 걸려 올라오는 것은 무엇이든 제사장이 가져갔다. 그들은 실로에 오는 모든 이스라엘 사람에게 이렇게 하였다.
15 Yes, before they burned the fat, the priest’s servant came, and said to the man who sacrificed, “ Give meat to roast for the priest; for he will not accept boiled meat from you, but raw.”Yea, before they burnt the fat, the priest’s servant came, and said to the man that sacrificed, Give flesh to roast for the priest; for he will not have boiled flesh of thee, but raw.게다가 기름을 태우기도 전에 제사장의 종이 와서 제사 드리는 사람에게 말하였다. "제사장께 구울 고기를 내놓으시오. 그분은 당신에게서 삶은 고기는 받지 않고 날것을 원하시오."
16 If the man said to him, “ Let the fat be burned first, and then take as much as your soul desires;” then he would say, “ No, but you shall give it to me now; and if not, I will take it by force.”And if the man said unto him, They will surely burn the fat first, and then take as much as thy soul desireth; then he would say, Nay, but thou shalt give it me now: and if not, I will take it by force.그 사람이 "기름을 먼저 태우게 하고 그 뒤에 당신 마음껏 가져가시오" 하고 말하면, 종은 "아니오, 지금 내게 주시오. 그러지 않으면 내가 힘으로 빼앗겠소" 하고 대답하였다.
17 The sin of the young men was very great before Yahweh; for the men despised Yahweh’s offering.And the sin of the young men was very great before Jehovah; for the men despised the offering of Jehovah.그 젊은이들의 죄가 여호와 앞에서 매우 컸으니, 이는 그 사람들이 여호와의 제물을 업신여겼기 때문이다.
18 But Samuel ministered before Yahweh, being a child, clothed with a linen ephod.But Samuel ministered before Jehovah, being a child, girded with a linen ephod.그러나 사무엘은 아이였으나 베 에봇을 입고 여호와 앞에서 섬겼다.

20 Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, “ May Yahweh give you offspring from this woman for the petition which was asked of Yahweh.” Then they went to their own home.And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, Jehovah give thee seed of this woman for the petition which was asked of Jehovah. And they went unto their own home.엘리가 엘가나와 그의 아내를 축복하며 말하였다. "이 여인이 여호와께 구하여 얻은 청원으로 인하여, 여호와께서 그대에게 이 여인을 통해 자손을 주시기를 바라오." 그리고 그들은 자기 집으로 돌아갔다.
21 Yahweh visited Hannah, and she conceived and bore three sons and two daughters. The child Samuel grew before Yahweh.And Jehovah visited Hannah, and she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before Jehovah.여호와께서 한나를 돌보시니 그가 임신하여 세 아들과 두 딸을 낳았다. 아이 사무엘은 여호와 앞에서 자랐다.
22 Now Eli was very old; and he heard all that his sons did to all Israel, and how that they slept with the women who served at the door of the Tent of Meeting.Now Eli was very old; and he heard all that his sons did unto all Israel, and how that they lay with the women that did service at the door of the tent of meeting.그때 엘리는 매우 늙었는데, 자기 아들들이 온 이스라엘에게 행한 모든 일과, 그들이 회막 문에서 섬기는 여인들과 동침한 일을 다 들었다.
23 He said to them, “ Why do you do such things? For I hear of your evil dealings from all these people.And he said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings from all this people.그가 그들에게 말하였다. "어찌하여 너희가 이런 일을 하느냐? 내가 이 모든 백성에게서 너희의 악한 행위를 듣는구나.
24 No, my sons; for it is not a good report that I hear! You make Yahweh’s people disobey.Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make Jehovah’s people to transgress.내 아들들아, 그러지 마라. 내가 듣는 소문이 좋지 못하구나. 너희가 여호와의 백성으로 하여금 어기게 하는구나.
25 If one man sins against another, God will judge him; but if a man sins against Yahweh, who will intercede for him?” Notwithstanding, they didn’t listen to the voice of their father, because Yahweh intended to kill them.If one man sin against another, God shall judge him; but if a man sin against Jehovah, who shall entreat for him? Notwithstanding, they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, because Jehovah was minded to slay them.사람이 사람에게 죄를 지으면 하나님께서 그를 재판하시겠지만, 사람이 여호와께 죄를 지으면 누가 그를 위해 간구하겠느냐?" 그러나 그들은 아버지의 말을 듣지 않았으니, 이는 여호와께서 그들을 죽이려 하셨기 때문이다.
26 The child Samuel grew on, and increased in favor both with Yahweh and also with men.And the child Samuel grew on, and increased in favor both with Jehovah, and also with men.아이 사무엘은 점점 자라며 여호와와 사람들에게 더욱 사랑을 받았다.
27 A man of God came to Eli and said to him, “ Yahweh says, ‘ Did I reveal myself to the house of your father when they were in Egypt in bondage to Pharaoh’s house?And there came a man of God unto Eli, and said unto him, Thus saith Jehovah, Did I reveal myself unto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt in bondage to Pharaoh’s house?하나님의 사람이 엘리에게 와서 그에게 말하였다. "여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하십니다. '네 조상의 집이 이집트에서 파라오의 집에 종살이할 때에 내가 그들에게 나를 분명히 나타내지 않았느냐?
28 Didn’t I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to go up to my altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? Didn’t I give to the house of your father all the offerings of the children of Israel made by fire?and did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to go up unto mine altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? and did I give unto the house of thy father all the offerings of the children of Israel made by fire?내가 이스라엘 모든 지파 가운데서 그를 택하여 나의 제사장으로 삼아, 내 제단에 올라가 분향하며 내 앞에서 에봇을 입게 하지 않았느냐? 또 내가 이스라엘 자손이 불로 드리는 모든 제물을 네 조상의 집에 주지 않았느냐?
29 Why do you kick at my sacrifice and at my offering, which I have commanded in my habitation, and honor your sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the best of all the offerings of Israel my people?’Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded in my habitation, and honorest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people?그런데 어찌하여 너희가 내 처소에서 내가 명한 나의 제사와 나의 제물을 발로 차며, 네 아들들을 나보다 더 높여, 내 백성 이스라엘이 드리는 모든 제물 가운데 가장 좋은 것으로 너희 자신을 살찌우느냐?'
30 “ Therefore Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, ‘ I said indeed that your house and the house of your father should walk before me forever.’ But now Yahweh says, ‘ Far be it from me; for those who honor me I will honor, and those who despise me will be cursed.Therefore Jehovah, the God of Israel, saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now Jehovah saith, Be it far from me; for them that honor me I will honor, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.그러므로 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서 말씀하신다. '내가 진실로 네 집과 네 조상의 집이 영원히 내 앞에서 행하리라고 말하였으나, 이제 여호와가 말한다. 결코 그렇지 않다. 나를 존중히 여기는 자를 내가 존중히 여기고, 나를 멸시하는 자를 내가 천하게 여길 것이다.
31 Behold, the days come that I will cut off your arm and the arm of your father’s house, that there will not be an old man in your house.Behold, the days come, that I will cut off thine arm, and the arm of thy father’s house, that there shall not be an old man in thy house.보라, 날이 이르면 내가 네 팔과 네 조상의 집의 팔을 끊어, 네 집에 노인이 없게 하리라.
32 You will see the affliction of my habitation, in all the wealth which I will give Israel. There shall not be an old man in your house forever.And thou shalt behold the affliction of my habitation, in all the wealth which God shall give Israel; and there shall not be an old man in thy house for ever.이스라엘에게 베풀 모든 복 가운데서, 너는 내 처소의 고난을 보게 될 것이며, 네 집에는 영원토록 노인이 없으리라.
33 The man of yours whom I don’t cut off from my altar will consume your eyes and grieve your heart. All the increase of your house will die in the flower of their age.And the man of thine, whom I shall not cut off from mine altar, shall be to consume thine eyes, and to grieve thy heart; and all the increase of thy house shall die in the flower of their age.내가 내 제단에서 끊지 않을 네 사람은 네 눈을 쇠하게 하고 네 마음을 슬프게 하는 자가 될 것이며, 네 집에서 태어나는 모든 자손은 한창때에 죽으리라.
34 This will be the sign to you that will come on your two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas: in one day they will both die.And this shall be the sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas: in one day they shall die both of them.네 두 아들 홉니와 비느하스에게 임할 이것이 네게 표징이 되리니, 그 둘이 한날에 다 죽으리라.
35 I will raise up a faithful priest for myself who will do according to that which is in my heart and in my mind. I will build him a sure house. He will walk before my anointed forever.And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in my heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.내가 나를 위하여 충성된 제사장을 일으키리니, 그는 내 마음과 내 뜻에 있는 대로 행할 것이다. 내가 그를 위하여 견고한 집을 세우리니, 그가 내가 기름 부은 이 앞에서 영원히 행하리라.
36 It will happen that everyone who is left in your house will come and bow down to him for a piece of silver and a loaf of bread, and will say, “ Please put me into one of the priests’ offices, that I may eat a morsel of bread.”’”And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left in thy house shall come and bow down to him for a piece of silver and a loaf of bread, and shall say, Put me, I pray thee, into one of the priests’ offices, that I may eat a morsel of bread.그리고 네 집에 남은 모든 자가 와서 그에게 절하며 은 한 조각과 빵 한 덩이를 구하고 이렇게 말할 것이다. "청하오니 나를 제사장 직무 가운데 하나에 두어 빵 한 조각이라도 먹게 해 주시오."'"
