1 Saul spoke to Jonathan his son and to all his servants, that they should kill David. But Jonathan, Saul’s son, greatly delighted in David.And Saul spake to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should slay David. But Jonathan, Saul’s son, delighted much in David.사울이 그의 아들 요나단과 모든 신하에게 다윗을 죽이라고 말하였다. 그러나 사울의 아들 요나단은 다윗을 매우 좋아하였다.
2 Jonathan told David, saying, “ Saul my father seeks to kill you. Now therefore, please take care of yourself in the morning, live in a secret place, and hide yourself.And Jonathan told David, saying, Saul my father seeketh to slay thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take heed to thyself in the morning, and abide in a secret place, and hide thyself:요나단이 다윗에게 알려 주며 말하였다. "내 아버지 사울이 너를 죽이려고 한다. 그러니 아침에는 부디 조심하여 은밀한 곳에 머물러 숨어 있어라.
3 I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where you are, and I will talk with my father about you; and if I see anything, I will tell you.”and I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where thou art, and I will commune with my father of thee; and if I see aught, I will tell thee.나는 나가서 네가 있는 들에서 내 아버지 곁에 서서 너에 관하여 아버지와 이야기해 보겠다. 그래서 무엇이든 알게 되면 너에게 알려 주겠다."
4 Jonathan spoke good of David to Saul his father, and said to him, “Don’t let the king sin against his servant, against David; because he has not sinned against you, and because his works have been very good toward you;And Jonathan spake good of David unto Saul his father, and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against David; because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works have been to thee-ward very good:요나단이 자기 아버지 사울에게 다윗을 좋게 말하며 그에게 이렇게 말하였다. "임금님께서는 임금님의 신하 다윗에게 죄를 짓지 마십시오. 그는 임금님께 죄를 짓지 않았고, 오히려 그가 한 일은 임금님께 매우 유익하였습니다.
5 for he put his life in his hand and struck the Philistine, and Yahweh worked a great victory for all Israel. You saw it and rejoiced. Why then will you sin against innocent blood, to kill David without a cause?”for he put his life in his hand, and smote the Philistine, and Jehovah wrought a great victory for all Israel: thou sawest it, and didst rejoice; wherefore then wilt thou sin against innocent blood, to slay David without a cause?그는 자기 목숨을 걸고 그 블레셋 사람을 쳐 죽였고, 여호와께서는 온 이스라엘에 큰 승리를 이루어 주셨습니다. 임금님께서도 그것을 보고 기뻐하셨습니다. 그런데 어찌하여 죄 없는 피를 흘려 까닭 없이 다윗을 죽이려고 죄를 지으려 하십니까?"
6 Saul listened to the voice of Jonathan; and Saul swore, “ As Yahweh lives, he shall not be put to death.”And Saul hearkened unto the voice of Jonathan: and Saul sware, As Jehovah liveth, he shall not be put to death.사울이 요나단의 말을 듣고 맹세하였다. "여호와께서 살아 계심을 두고 맹세하니, 다윗은 죽임을 당하지 않을 것이다."
7 Jonathan called David, and Jonathan showed him all those things. Then Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence as before.And Jonathan called David, and Jonathan showed him all those things. And Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence, as beforetime.요나단이 다윗을 불러 그 모든 일을 그에게 알려 주었다. 그리고 요나단이 다윗을 사울에게 데려가니, 다윗이 전과 같이 사울 앞에 있게 되었다.
8 There was war again. David went out and fought with the Philistines, and killed them with a great slaughter; and they fled before him.And there was war again: and David went out, and fought with the Philistines, and slew them with a great slaughter; and they fled before him.다시 전쟁이 일어났다. 다윗이 나가서 블레셋 사람들과 싸워 그들을 크게 무찔러 죽이니, 그들이 다윗 앞에서 도망쳤다.
9 An evil spirit from Yahweh was on Saul as he sat in his house with his spear in his hand; and David was playing music with his hand.And an evil spirit from Jehovah was upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his spear in his hand; and David was playing with his hand.여호와께로부터 온 악한 영이 사울에게 임하였다. 그가 손에 창을 들고 자기 집에 앉아 있는 동안, 다윗은 손으로 (수금을) 타고 있었다.
10 Saul sought to pin David to the wall with the spear, but he slipped away out of Saul’s presence; and he stuck the spear into the wall. David fled and escaped that night.And Saul sought to smite David even to the wall with the spear; but he slipped away out of Saul’s presence, and he smote the spear into the wall: and David fled, and escaped that night.사울이 창으로 다윗을 벽에 박으려 하였으나, 다윗이 사울 앞에서 몸을 피하니 창이 벽에 꽂혔다. 다윗은 도망쳐 그날 밤에 벗어났다.
11 Saul sent messengers to David’s house to watch him and to kill him in the morning. Michal, David’s wife, told him, saying, “If you don’t save your life tonight, tomorrow you will be killed.”And Saul sent messengers unto David’s house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal, David’s wife, told him, saying, If thou save not thy life to-night, to-morrow thou wilt be slain.사울이 다윗의 집으로 사람들을 보내어 그를 지키게 하고 아침에 그를 죽이려 하였다. 다윗의 아내 미갈이 그에게 알려 주며 말하였다. "당신이 오늘 밤에 목숨을 구하지 않으면 내일 죽임을 당할 것입니다."
12 So Michal let David down through the window. He went away, fled, and escaped.So Michal let David down through the window: and he went, and fled, and escaped.그래서 미갈이 다윗을 창문으로 내려 주니, 다윗이 도망쳐 벗어났다.
13 Michal took the teraphim and laid it in the bed, and put a pillow of goats’ hair at its head and covered it with clothes.And Michal took the teraphim, and laid it in the bed, and put a pillow of goats’ hair at the head thereof, and covered it with the clothes.미갈이 드라빔(우상)을 가져다가 침대에 누이고, 그 머리맡에는 염소털로 만든 베개를 놓고, 옷으로 그것을 덮었다.
14 When Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, “ He is sick.”And when Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, He is sick.사울이 다윗을 잡으려고 사람들을 보내자, 미갈이 말하였다. "그는 병들었습니다."
15 Saul sent the messengers to see David, saying, “ Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may kill him.”And Saul sent the messengers to see David, saying, Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may slay him.사울이 다윗을 보려고 다시 사람들을 보내며 말하였다. "그를 침대째 내게로 데려오너라. 내가 그를 죽이겠다."

17 Saul said to Michal, “ Why have you deceived me like this and let my enemy go, so that he has escaped?” Michal answered Saul, “ He said to me, ‘ Let me go! Why should I kill you?’”And Saul said unto Michal, Why hast thou deceived me thus, and let mine enemy go, so that he is escaped? And Michal answered Saul, He said unto me, Let me go; why should I kill thee?사울이 미갈에게 말하였다. "어찌하여 네가 이렇게 나를 속여 내 원수를 놓아주어 도망치게 하였느냐?" 미갈이 사울에게 대답하였다. "그가 저에게 '나를 보내 다오. 어찌 내가 너를 죽이겠느냐?'라고 말하였습니다."
18 Now David fled and escaped, and came to Samuel at Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. He and Samuel went and lived in Naioth.Now David fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel to Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and dwelt in Naioth.다윗은 도망쳐 벗어나 라마에 있는 사무엘에게로 가서, 사울이 자기에게 한 모든 일을 그에게 알려 주었다. 그리고 그와 사무엘은 함께 나욧으로 가서 머물렀다.
19 Saul was told, saying, “ Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah.”And it was told Saul, saying, Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah.누군가 사울에게 알려 주며 말하였다. "보십시오, 다윗이 라마의 나욧에 있습니다."
20 Saul sent messengers to seize David; and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as head over them, God’s Spirit came on Saul’s messengers, and they also prophesied.And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as head over them, the Spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.사울이 다윗을 잡으려고 사람들을 보냈다. 그런데 그들이 예언하는 선지자의 무리와 그 앞에 우두머리로 서 있는 사무엘을 보았을 때, 하나님의 영이 사울의 사람들에게 임하니 그들도 예언하였다.
21 When Saul was told, he sent other messengers, and they also prophesied. Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they also prophesied.And when it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, and they also prophesied. And Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they also prophesied.이 일이 사울에게 알려지자, 그가 다른 사람들을 보냈는데 그들도 예언하였다. 사울이 세 번째로 다시 사람들을 보냈으나, 그들도 예언하였다.
22 Then he also went to Ramah, and came to the great well that is in Secu: and he asked, “ Where are Samuel and David?” One said, “ Behold, they are at Naioth in Ramah.”Then went he also to Ramah, and came to the great well that is in Secu: and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And one said, Behold, they are at Naioth in Ramah.그러자 사울 자신도 라마로 가서 세구에 있는 큰 우물에 이르러 물었다. "사무엘과 다윗이 어디 있느냐?" 한 사람이 말하였다. "보십시오, 그들은 라마의 나욧에 있습니다."
23 He went there to Naioth in Ramah. Then God’s Spirit came on him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah.And he went thither to Naioth in Ramah: and the Spirit of God came upon him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah.사울이 그곳, 라마의 나욧으로 갔다. 그러자 하나님의 영이 그에게도 임하니, 그가 라마의 나욧에 이르기까지 계속 걸어가며 예언하였다.
24 He also stripped off his clothes. He also prophesied before Samuel and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Therefore they say, “ Is Saul also among the prophets?”And he also stripped off his clothes, and he also prophesied before Samuel, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Wherefore they say, Is Saul also among the prophets?그도 자기 옷을 벗고 사무엘 앞에서 예언하였으며, 그날 온종일과 그날 밤새도록 벌거벗은 채 누워 있었다. 그래서 사람들이 "사울도 선지자들 가운데 있느냐?"라고 말한다.
