1 Samuel said to all Israel, “ Behold, I have listened to your voice in all that you said to me, and have made a king over you.And Samuel said unto all Israel, Behold, I have hearkened unto your voice in all that ye said unto me, and have made a king over you.사무엘이 온 이스라엘에게 말했다. "보십시오, 나는 여러분이 내게 말한 모든 것을 그대로 듣고, 여러분 위에 왕을 세웠습니다.
2 Now, behold, the king walks before you. I am old and gray-headed. Behold, my sons are with you. I have walked before you from my youth to this day.And now, behold, the king walketh before you; and I am old and grayheaded; and, behold, my sons are with you: and I have walked before you from my youth unto this day.이제 보십시오, 그 왕이 여러분 앞에서 다스리고 있으며, 나는 늙고 머리가 희어졌습니다. 보십시오, 내 아들들도 여러분과 함께 있습니다. 나는 어릴 때부터 오늘까지 여러분 앞에서 살아왔습니다.
3 Here I am. Witness against me before Yahweh and before his anointed. Whose ox have I taken? Whose donkey have I taken? Whom have I defrauded? Whom have I oppressed? Of whose hand have I taken a bribe to make me blind my eyes? I will restore it to you.”Here I am: witness against me before Jehovah, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I taken a ransom to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.내가 여기 있으니, 여호와 앞과 그분이 기름 부으신 이 앞에서 나를 고발하십시오. 내가 누구의 소를 빼앗았습니까? 누구의 나귀를 빼앗았습니까? 누구를 속였습니까? 누구를 억압했습니까? 누구의 손에서 뇌물을 받아 내 눈을 가렸습니까? 그랬다면 내가 여러분에게 돌려주겠습니다."
4 They said, “ You have not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither have you taken anything from anyone’s hand.”And they said, Thou hast not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither hast thou taken aught of any man’s hand.그들이 대답했다. "당신은 우리를 속이지도, 억압하지도 않았으며, 어느 누구의 손에서도 아무것도 빼앗지 않았습니다."
5 He said to them, “ Yahweh is witness against you, and his anointed is witness today, that you have not found anything in my hand.” They said, “ He is witness.”And he said unto them, Jehovah is witness against you, and his anointed is witness this day, that ye have not found aught in my hand. And they said, He is witness.사무엘이 그들에게 말했다. "여호와께서 여러분을 향해 증인이 되시고, 그분이 기름 부으신 이도 오늘 증인이 되십니다. 여러분이 내 손에서 아무것도 찾아내지 못했음을 말입니다." 그들이 대답했다. "그분이 증인이십니다."
6 Samuel said to the people, “ It is Yahweh who appointed Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt.And Samuel said unto the people, It is Jehovah that appointed Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt.사무엘이 백성에게 말했다. "모세와 아론을 세우시고 여러분의 조상들을 이집트 땅에서 이끌어 내신 분이 바로 여호와이십니다.
7 Now therefore stand still, that I may plead with you before Yahweh concerning all the righteous acts of Yahweh, which he did to you and to your fathers.Now therefore stand still, that I may plead with you before Jehovah concerning all the righteous acts of Jehovah, which he did to you and to your fathers.그러니 이제 가만히 서 계십시오. 여호와께서 여러분과 여러분의 조상들에게 행하신 모든 의로운 일들에 관하여, 내가 여호와 앞에서 여러분과 변론하려 합니다.
8 “ When Jacob had come into Egypt, and your fathers cried to Yahweh, then Yahweh sent Moses and Aaron, who brought your fathers out of Egypt, and made them to dwell in this place.When Jacob was come into Egypt, and your fathers cried unto Jehovah, then Jehovah sent Moses and Aaron, who brought forth your fathers out of Egypt, and made them to dwell in this place.야곱이 이집트로 들어갔을 때, 여러분의 조상들이 여호와께 부르짖었고, 그러자 여호와께서 모세와 아론을 보내셨습니다. 그들이 여러분의 조상들을 이집트에서 이끌어 내어 이곳에 살게 하셨습니다.
9 But they forgot Yahweh their God; and he sold them into the hand of Sisera, captain of the army of Hazor, and into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab; and they fought against them.But they forgat Jehovah their God; and he sold them into the hand of Sisera, captain of the host of Hazor, and into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab; and they fought against them.그러나 그들은 그들의 하나님 여호와를 잊어버렸고, 그분께서는 그들을 하솔 군대의 장관 시스라의 손과 블레셋 사람들의 손과 모압 왕의 손에 파셨으며, 그들이 이스라엘과 싸웠습니다.
10 They cried to Yahweh, and said, ‘ We have sinned, because we have forsaken Yahweh and have served the Baals and the Ashtaroth; but now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve you.’And they cried unto Jehovah, and said, We have sinned, because we have forsaken Jehovah, and have served the Baalim and the Ashtaroth: but now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve thee.그들이 여호와께 부르짖으며 말했습니다. '우리가 죄를 지었습니다. 우리가 여호와를 버리고 바알들과 아스다롯을 섬겼기 때문입니다. 그러나 이제 우리를 우리 원수들의 손에서 건져 주십시오. 그러면 우리가 주를 섬기겠습니다.'
11 Yahweh sent Jerubbaal, Bedan, Jephthah, and Samuel, and delivered you out of the hand of your enemies on every side; and you lived in safety.And Jehovah sent Jerubbaal, and Bedan, and Jephthah, and Samuel, and delivered you out of the hand of your enemies on every side; and ye dwelt in safety.그러자 여호와께서 여룹바알과 베단과 입다와 사무엘을 보내시어, 여러분을 사방의 원수들의 손에서 건져 주셨고, 여러분은 안전하게 살았습니다.
12 “ When you saw that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon came against you, you said to me, ‘ No, but a king shall reign over us,’ when Yahweh your God was your king.And when ye saw that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon came against you, ye said unto me, Nay, but a king shall reign over us; when Jehovah your God was your king.그런데 여러분은 암몬 자손의 왕 나하스가 여러분을 치러 오는 것을 보았을 때, 여호와 여러분의 하나님께서 여러분의 왕이셨음에도 불구하고, 내게 '아닙니다, 우리 위에 왕이 다스려야 합니다'라고 말했습니다.
13 Now therefore see the king whom you have chosen and whom you have asked for. Behold, Yahweh has set a king over you.Now therefore behold the king whom ye have chosen, and whom ye have asked for: and, behold, Jehovah hath set a king over you.그러니 이제 여러분이 선택하고 요구한 왕을 보십시오. 보십시오, 여호와께서 여러분 위에 왕을 세우셨습니다.
14 If you will fear Yahweh, and serve him, and listen to his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of Yahweh, then both you and also the king who reigns over you are followers of Yahweh your God.If ye will fear Jehovah, and serve him, and hearken unto his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of Jehovah, and both ye and also the king that reigneth over you be followers of Jehovah your God, well:여러분이 여호와를 경외하고 그분을 섬기며 그분의 음성에 귀 기울이고 여호와의 명령을 거역하지 않는다면, 여러분과 여러분을 다스리는 왕이 다 함께 여호와 여러분의 하나님을 따르는 자가 될 것입니다.
15 But if you will not listen to Yahweh’s voice, but rebel against the commandment of Yahweh, then Yahweh’s hand will be against you, as it was against your fathers.but if ye will not hearken unto the voice of Jehovah, but rebel against the commandment of Jehovah, then will the hand of Jehovah be against you, as it was against your fathers.그러나 여러분이 여호와의 음성에 귀 기울이지 않고 여호와의 명령을 거역한다면, 여러분의 조상들에게 그러하셨던 것처럼 여호와의 손이 여러분을 치실 것입니다.
16 “ Now therefore stand still and see this great thing, which Yahweh will do before your eyes.Now therefore stand still and see this great thing, which Jehovah will do before your eyes.그러니 이제 가만히 서서, 여호와께서 여러분의 눈앞에서 행하실 이 큰일을 보십시오.
17 Isn’t it wheat harvest today? I will call to Yahweh, that he may send thunder and rain; and you will know and see that your wickedness is great, which you have done in Yahweh’s sight, in asking for a king.”Is it not wheat harvest to-day? I will call unto Jehovah, that he may send thunder and rain; and ye shall know and see that your wickedness is great, which ye have done in the sight of Jehovah, in asking you a king.오늘이 밀 추수 때가 아닙니까? 내가 여호와께 부르짖어 천둥과 비를 보내시게 하겠습니다. 그러면 여러분이 왕을 구함으로써 여호와 보시기에 행한 여러분의 악이 크다는 것을 알고 깨닫게 될 것입니다."
18 So Samuel called to Yahweh, and Yahweh sent thunder and rain that day. Then all the people greatly feared Yahweh and Samuel.So Samuel called unto Jehovah; and Jehovah sent thunder and rain that day: and all the people greatly feared Jehovah and Samuel.그래서 사무엘이 여호와께 부르짖으니, 여호와께서 그날 천둥과 비를 보내셨다. 그러자 온 백성이 여호와와 사무엘을 크게 두려워했다.
19 All the people said to Samuel, “ Pray for your servants to Yahweh your God, that we not die; for we have added to all our sins this evil, to ask for a king.”And all the people said unto Samuel, Pray for thy servants unto Jehovah thy God, that we die not; for we have added unto all our sins this evil, to ask us a king.온 백성이 사무엘에게 말했다. "당신의 종들을 위하여 여호와 당신의 하나님께 기도해 주십시오. 우리가 죽지 않게 해 주십시오. 우리가 우리의 모든 죄에다 왕을 구하는 이 악까지 더했기 때문입니다."
20 Samuel said to the people, “Don’t be afraid. You have indeed done all this evil; yet don’t turn away from following Yahweh, but serve Yahweh with all your heart.And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: ye have indeed done all this evil; yet turn not aside from following Jehovah, but serve Jehovah with all your heart:사무엘이 백성에게 말했다. "두려워하지 마십시오. 여러분이 참으로 이 모든 악을 행한 것은 사실이나, 그래도 여호와를 따르는 데서 돌이키지 말고, 마음을 다하여 여호와를 섬기십시오.
21 Don’t turn away to go after vain things which can’t profit or deliver, for they are vain.and turn ye not aside; for then would ye go after vain things which cannot profit nor deliver, for they are vain.헛된 것들을 좇아 돌이키지 마십시오. 그것들은 유익을 주지도 못하고 건져 주지도 못합니다. 그것들은 헛것이기 때문입니다.
22 For Yahweh will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake, because it has pleased Yahweh to make you a people for himself.For Jehovah will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake, because it hath pleased Jehovah to make you a people unto himself.여호와께서는 그분의 위대하신 이름을 위하여 그분의 백성을 버리지 않으실 것입니다. 여호와께서 여러분을 그분의 백성으로 삼으시기를 기뻐하셨기 때문입니다.
23 Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against Yahweh in ceasing to pray for you; but I will instruct you in the good and the right way.Moreover as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against Jehovah in ceasing to pray for you: but I will instruct you in the good and the right way.또한 나로 말하면, 내가 여러분을 위해 기도하기를 그쳐 여호와께 죄를 짓는 일은 결코 없을 것입니다. 도리어 나는 여러분에게 선하고 바른 길을 가르치겠습니다.
24 Only fear Yahweh, and serve him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things he has done for you.Only fear Jehovah, and serve him in truth with all your heart; for consider how great things he hath done for you.오직 여호와를 경외하고, 진실함으로 마음을 다하여 그분을 섬기십시오. 그분께서 여러분을 위하여 얼마나 큰일을 행하셨는지 생각해 보십시오.
25 But if you keep doing evil, you will be consumed, both you and your king.”But if ye shall still do wickedly, ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king.그러나 여러분이 여전히 악을 행한다면, 여러분과 여러분의 왕이 다 함께 멸망할 것입니다."
