1 After these things, Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard which was in Jezreel, next to the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.And it came to pass after these things, that Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, hard by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.이런 일들이 있은 뒤에, 이스르엘 사람 나봇에게 포도원이 하나 있었는데, 그것은 사마리아 왕 아합의 왕궁 바로 곁 이스르엘에 있었다.
2 Ahab spoke to Naboth, saying, “ Give me your vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near my house; and I will give you for it a better vineyard than it. Or, if it seems good to you, I will give you its worth in money.”And Ahab spake unto Naboth, saying, Give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house; and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it: or, if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the worth of it in money.아합이 나봇에게 말하였다. "당신의 포도원을 나에게 주시오. 그것이 내 집 가까이에 있으니 내가 채소밭으로 삼으려 하오. 그 대신 내가 당신에게 그보다 더 좋은 포도원을 주겠소. 만일 당신이 원한다면 그 값을 돈으로 쳐 주겠소."
3 Naboth said to Ahab, “ May Yahweh forbid me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers to you!”And Naboth said to Ahab, Jehovah forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee.그러나 나봇이 아합에게 말하였다. "내 조상에게서 물려받은 유산을 내가 임금님께 드리는 일은 여호와께서 결코 허락하지 않으실 것입니다."
4 Ahab came into his house sullen and angry because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him, for he had said, “ I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers.” He laid himself down on his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.And Ahab came into his house heavy and displeased because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him; for he had said, I will not give thee the inheritance of my fathers. And he laid him down upon his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.이스르엘 사람 나봇이 "내 조상에게서 물려받은 유산을 임금님께 드릴 수 없습니다" 하고 말하였으므로, 아합은 그 말 때문에 침울하고 화가 난 채로 자기 집에 들어왔다. 그는 침상에 누워 얼굴을 돌리고 음식도 먹지 않았다.
5 But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said to him, “ Why is your spirit so sad that you eat no bread?”But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said unto him, Why is thy spirit so sad, that thou eatest no bread?그러자 그의 아내 이세벨이 그에게 와서 말하였다. "어찌하여 마음이 그렇게 상하셔서 음식도 드시지 않습니까?"
6 He said to her, “ Because I spoke to Naboth the Jezreelite, and said to him, ‘ Give me your vineyard for money; or else, if it pleases you, I will give you another vineyard for it.’ He answered, ‘ I will not give you my vineyard.’”And he said unto her, Because I spake unto Naboth the Jezreelite, and said unto him, Give me thy vineyard for money; or else, if it please thee, I will give thee another vineyard for it: and he answered, I will not give thee my vineyard.그가 그녀에게 말하였다. "내가 이스르엘 사람 나봇에게 '당신의 포도원을 돈을 받고 나에게 주시오. 그렇지 않으면 원하는 대로 다른 포도원을 그 대신 주겠소' 하고 말했더니, 그가 '내 포도원을 임금님께 드릴 수 없습니다' 하고 대답하였기 때문이오."
7 Jezebel his wife said to him, “ Do you now govern the kingdom of Israel? Arise, and eat bread, and let your heart be merry. I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.”And Jezebel his wife said unto him, Dost thou now govern the kingdom of Israel? arise, and eat bread, and let thy heart be merry: I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.그의 아내 이세벨이 그에게 말하였다. "당신은 지금 이스라엘 나라를 다스리는 분이 아니십니까? 일어나 음식을 드시고 마음을 즐겁게 하십시오. 제가 이스르엘 사람 나봇의 포도원을 임금님께 드리겠습니다."
8 So she wrote letters in Ahab’s name and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters to the elders and to the nobles who were in his city, who lived with Naboth.So she wrote letters in Ahab’s name, and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters unto the elders and to the nobles that were in his city, and that dwelt with Naboth.그래서 이세벨은 아합의 이름으로 편지들을 써서 그의 인장으로 봉인하고, 나봇과 같은 성읍에 사는 장로들과 귀족들에게 그 편지들을 보냈다.
9 She wrote in the letters, saying, “ Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people.And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people:그녀는 그 편지에 이렇게 썼다. "금식을 선포하고, 나봇을 백성 가운데 높이 앉히시오.
10 Set two men, wicked fellows, before him, and let them testify against him, saying, ‘ You cursed God and the king!’ Then carry him out, and stone him to death.”and set two men, base fellows, before him, and let them bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst curse God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him to death.그리고 불량한 자 두 사람을 그 앞에 세워 그를 고발하게 하여 '네가 하나님과 왕을 저주하였다' 하고 증언하게 하시오. 그런 다음 그를 끌어내어 돌로 쳐 죽이시오."
11 The men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who lived in his city, did as Jezebel had instructed them in the letters which she had written and sent to them.And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who dwelt in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, according as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them.그 성읍 사람들, 곧 그 성읍에 사는 장로들과 귀족들은 이세벨이 보낸 대로, 그녀가 보낸 편지에 쓰인 대로 행하였다.
12 They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people.They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people.그들은 금식을 선포하고 나봇을 백성 가운데 높이 앉혔다.
13 The two men, the wicked fellows, came in and sat before him. The wicked fellows testified against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, “ Naboth cursed God and the king!” Then they carried him out of the city and stoned him to death with stones.And the two men, the base fellows, came in and sat before him: and the base fellows bare witness against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did curse God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him to death with stones.그리고 불량한 자 두 사람이 들어와 그 앞에 앉아, 백성 앞에서 나봇을 고발하여 증언하였다. "나봇이 하나님과 왕을 저주하였다!" 그러자 그들은 그를 성읍 밖으로 끌어내어 돌로 쳐 죽였다.
14 Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, “ Naboth has been stoned and is dead.”Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, Naboth is stoned, and is dead.그러고 나서 그들은 이세벨에게 사람을 보내어 "나봇이 돌에 맞아 죽었습니다" 하고 알렸다.
15 When Jezebel heard that Naboth had been stoned and was dead, Jezebel said to Ahab, “ Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give you for money; for Naboth is not alive, but dead.”And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned, and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give thee for money; for Naboth is not alive, but dead.이세벨은 나봇이 돌에 맞아 죽었다는 말을 듣고 아합에게 말하였다. "일어나 이스르엘 사람 나봇이 돈을 받고도 임금님께 드리기를 거절하던 그 포도원을 차지하십시오. 나봇은 살아 있지 않고 죽었습니다."
16 When Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it.And it came to pass, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it.아합은 나봇이 죽었다는 말을 듣고, 일어나 이스르엘 사람 나봇의 포도원으로 내려가 그것을 차지하려 하였다.
17 Yahweh’s word came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,And the word of Jehovah came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,그때 여호와의 말씀이 디셉 사람 엘리야에게 임하여 이르셨다.
18 “ Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who dwells in Samaria. Behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, where he has gone down to take possession of it.Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who dwelleth in Samaria: behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone down to take possession of it."일어나 사마리아에 사는 이스라엘 왕 아합을 만나러 내려가거라. 보아라, 그가 나봇의 포도원에 있다. 그가 그것을 차지하려고 그곳으로 내려갔다.
19 You shall speak to him, saying, ‘ Yahweh says, “ Have you killed and also taken possession?”’ You shall speak to him, saying, ‘ Yahweh says, “ In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth, dogs will lick your blood, even yours.”’”And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith Jehovah, Hast thou killed, and also taken possession? And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith Jehovah, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick thy blood, even thine.너는 그에게 말하여라. '여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. 네가 사람을 죽이고 또 그 재산을 빼앗았느냐?' 그리고 또 그에게 말하여라. '여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. 개들이 나봇의 피를 핥은 그곳에서, 개들이 네 피, 바로 네 피를 핥을 것이다.'"
20 Ahab said to Elijah, “ Have you found me, my enemy?” He answered, “ I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do that which is evil in Yahweh’s sight.And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee, because thou hast sold thyself to do that which is evil in the sight of Jehovah.아합이 엘리야에게 말하였다. "내 원수여, 네가 나를 찾아내었느냐?" 엘리야가 대답하였다. "내가 너를 찾아내었다. 네가 여호와께서 보시기에 악한 일을 행하려고 네 자신을 팔았기 때문이다.
21 Behold, I will bring evil on you, and will utterly sweep you away and will cut off from Ahab everyone who urinates against a wall, and him who is shut up and him who is left at large in Israel.Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will utterly sweep thee away and will cut off from Ahab every man-child, and him that is shut up and him that is left at large in Israel:보아라, 내가 너에게 재앙을 내려 너를 완전히 쓸어버리겠고, 이스라엘에서 아합에게 속한 남자는 매인 자나 놓인 자나 모두 끊어 버리겠다.
22 I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation with which you have provoked me to anger, and have made Israel to sin.”and I will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked me to anger, and hast made Israel to sin.네가 나를 노하게 하고 이스라엘로 죄를 짓게 한 그 도발 때문에, 내가 네 집안을 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 집안같이, 또 아히야의 아들 바아사의 집안같이 만들겠다."
23 Yahweh also spoke of Jezebel, saying, “ The dogs will eat Jezebel by the rampart of Jezreel.And of Jezebel also spake Jehovah, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the rampart of Jezreel.여호와께서 이세벨에 대해서도 말씀하셨다. "개들이 이스르엘 성벽 곁에서 이세벨을 먹을 것이다.
24 The dogs will eat whoever dies of Ahab in the city; and the birds of the sky will eat whoever dies in the field.”Him that dieth of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the birds of the heavens eat.아합에게 속한 자로서 성읍에서 죽는 자는 개들이 먹을 것이고, 들에서 죽는 자는 공중의 새들이 먹을 것이다."
25 But there was no one like Ahab, who sold himself to do that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.( But there was none like unto Ahab, who did sell himself to do that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.(참으로 아합같이 여호와께서 보시기에 악한 일을 행하려고 자신을 판 자는 없었으니, 그의 아내 이세벨이 그를 부추겼다.
26 He did very abominably in following idols, according to all that the Amorites did, whom Yahweh cast out before the children of Israel.And he did very abominably in following idols, according to all that the Amorites did, whom Jehovah cast out before the children of Israel.)그는 여호와께서 이스라엘 자손 앞에서 쫓아내신 아모리 사람들이 행한 그 모든 것을 따라, 우상들을 좇으며 지극히 가증한 일을 행하였다.)
27 When Ahab heard those words, he tore his clothes, put sackcloth on his body, fasted, lay in sackcloth, and went about despondently.And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.아합이 그 말을 듣고는 자기 옷을 찢고 살에 굵은 베옷을 입고 금식하며, 굵은 베옷을 입은 채로 누웠고, 풀이 죽어 다녔다.
28 Yahweh’s word came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,And the word of Jehovah came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,그때 여호와의 말씀이 디셉 사람 엘리야에게 임하여 이르셨다.
29 “ See how Ahab humbles himself before me? Because he humbles himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days; but I will bring the evil on his house in his son’s day.”Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days; but in his son’s day will I bring the evil upon his house."아합이 내 앞에서 어떻게 스스로 겸손해졌는지 너는 보았느냐? 그가 내 앞에서 스스로 겸손해졌으므로, 내가 그가 사는 날에는 재앙을 내리지 않겠다. 그러나 그의 아들이 사는 날에 내가 그의 집안에 재앙을 내리겠다."
