1 When the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning Yahweh’s name, she came to test him with hard questions.And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of Jehovah, she came to prove him with hard questions.스바의 여왕이 여호와의 이름과 관련된 솔로몬의 명성을 듣고, 어려운 질문들로 그를 시험해 보려고 찾아왔다.
2 She came to Jerusalem with a very great caravan, with camels that bore spices, very much gold, and precious stones; and when she had come to Solomon, she talked with him about all that was in her heart.And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones; and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.여왕은 향료와 아주 많은 금과 보석을 실은 낙타들을 거느린 매우 큰 행렬을 이끌고 예루살렘에 이르렀다. 솔로몬에게 와서는 자기 마음속에 있는 모든 것을 그와 더불어 이야기하였다.
3 Solomon answered all her questions. There wasn’t anything hidden from the king which he didn’t tell her.And Solomon told her all her questions: there was not anything hid from the king which he told her not.솔로몬은 그 여왕의 모든 질문에 답하였다. 왕이 그에게 일러 주지 못할 만큼 숨겨진 것은 하나도 없었다.
4 When the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built,And when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,스바의 여왕은 솔로몬의 모든 지혜와 그가 지은 궁궐과
5 the food of his table, the sitting of his servants, the attendance of his officials, their clothing, his cup bearers, and his ascent by which he went up to Yahweh’s house, there was no more spirit in her.and the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of Jehovah; there was no more spirit in her.그의 식탁에 오른 음식과 신하들이 앉은 모습과 시종들이 시중드는 모습과 그들의 의복과 술잔을 받드는 자들과, 그가 여호와의 성전으로 올라가는 층계를 보고는 그만 넋을 잃고 말았다.
6 She said to the king, “ It was a true report that I heard in my own land of your acts and of your wisdom.And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thine acts, and of thy wisdom.여왕이 왕에게 말하였다. “내가 내 나라에서 당신의 업적과 지혜에 관하여 들은 소문은 참된 것이었습니다.
7 However, I didn’t believe the words until I came and my eyes had seen it. Behold, not even half was told me! Your wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame which I heard.Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me; thy wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame which I heard.그러나 내가 와서 내 눈으로 직접 보기 전까지는 그 말을 믿지 않았습니다. 보십시오, 그 절반도 내게 전해지지 않았군요! 당신의 지혜와 번영은 내가 들은 명성을 훨씬 뛰어넘습니다.
8 Happy are your men, happy are these your servants who stand continually before you, who hear your wisdom.Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, that stand continually before thee, and that hear thy wisdom.당신의 사람들은 행복합니다. 늘 당신 앞에 서서 당신의 지혜를 듣는 이 신하들도 행복합니다.
9 Blessed is Yahweh your God, who delighted in you, to set you on the throne of Israel. Because Yahweh loved Israel forever, therefore he made you king, to do justice and righteousness.”Blessed be Jehovah thy God, who delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because Jehovah loved Israel for ever, therefore made he thee king, to do justice and righteousness.당신의 하나님 여호와를 찬송합니다. 그분이 당신을 기뻐하셔서 이스라엘의 왕좌에 앉히셨습니다. 여호와께서 이스라엘을 영원히 사랑하셨으므로, 당신을 왕으로 세우셔서 공의와 의를 행하게 하신 것입니다.”
10 She gave the king one hundred twenty talents of gold, and a very great quantity of spices, and precious stones. Never again was there such an abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.And she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices very great store, and precious stones: there came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.여왕은 왕에게 금 백이십 달란트와 아주 많은 향료와 보석을 주었다. 스바의 여왕이 솔로몬 왕에게 준 만큼 풍성한 향료가 그 후로는 다시 들어온 적이 없었다.
11 The fleet of Hiram that brought gold from Ophir also brought in from Ophir great quantities of almug trees and precious stones.And the navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug-trees and precious stones.오빌에서 금을 실어 오던 히람의 선단은 오빌에서 백단목과 보석도 매우 많이 가져왔다.
12 The king made of the almug trees pillars for Yahweh’s house and for the king’s house, harps also and stringed instruments for the singers; no such almug trees came or were seen to this day.And the king made of the almug-trees pillars for the house of Jehovah, and for the king’s house, harps also and psalteries for the singers: there came no such almug-trees, nor were seen, unto this day.왕은 그 백단목으로 여호와의 성전과 왕궁의 기둥을 만들고, 노래하는 자들을 위한 수금과 비파도 만들었다. 그러한 백단목은 그 후로 다시 들어온 적도 없고 오늘까지 본 적도 없다.
13 King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, in addition to that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned and went to her own land, she and her servants.And king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, besides that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned, and went to her own land, she and her servants.솔로몬 왕은 스바의 여왕이 원하고 구하는 것은 무엇이든지 다 주었으니, 솔로몬이 왕으로서의 후한 마음으로 준 것 외에도 더 주었다. 그리하여 여왕은 신하들과 함께 자기 나라로 돌아갔다.
14 Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred sixty-six talents of gold,Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold,솔로몬에게 한 해 동안 들어온 금의 무게는 육백육십육 달란트였고,
15 in addition to that which the traders brought, and the traffic of the merchants, and of all the kings of the mixed people, and of the governors of the country.besides that which the traders brought, and the traffic of the merchants, and of all the kings of the mingled people, and of the governors of the country.이 외에도 행상들이 가져온 것과 무역상들의 거래에서 나온 것과 모든 혼합 민족의 왕들과 그 지방 총독들에게서 들어온 것이 있었다.
16 King Solomon made two hundred bucklers of beaten gold; six hundred shekels of gold went to one buckler.And king Solomon made two hundred bucklers of beaten gold; six hundred shekels of gold went to one buckler.솔로몬 왕은 두들겨 편 금으로 큰 방패 이백 개를 만들었는데, 방패 하나에 금 육백 세겔이 들었다.
17 He made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three minas of gold went to one shield; and the king put them in the House of the Forest of Lebanon.And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three pounds of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.또 두들겨 편 금으로 작은 방패 삼백 개를 만들었는데, 방패 하나에 금 삼 마네가 들었다. 왕은 이것들을 레바논 수풀 궁에 두었다.
18 Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the finest gold.Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the finest gold.또한 왕은 상아로 큰 왕좌를 만들고 그것을 정금으로 입혔다.
19 There were six steps to the throne, and the top of the throne was round behind; and there were armrests on either side by the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the armrests.There were six steps to the throne, and the top of the throne was round behind; and there were stays on either side by the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the stays.왕좌에는 여섯 계단이 있었고, 왕좌 등받이 꼭대기는 둥글었으며, 앉는 자리 양쪽에는 팔걸이가 있고, 그 팔걸이 곁에 사자 두 마리가 서 있었다.
20 Twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other on the six steps. Nothing like it was made in any kingdom.And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the like made in any kingdom.여섯 계단 양편에는 사자 열두 마리가 서 있었다. 어느 나라에서도 이같이 만든 것이 없었다.
21 All King Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were of pure gold. None were of silver, because it was considered of little value in the days of Solomon.And all king Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold: none were of silver; it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon.솔로몬 왕의 마시는 그릇은 모두 금이었고, 레바논 수풀 궁의 그릇도 다 순금이었다. 은으로 된 것은 하나도 없었으니, 솔로몬 시대에는 은을 귀하게 여기지 않았기 때문이다.
22 For the king had a fleet of ships of Tarshish at sea with Hiram’s fleet. Once every three years the fleet of Tarshish came bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks.For the king had at sea a navy of Tarshish with the navy of Hiram: once every three years came the navy of Tarshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.왕에게는 히람의 선단과 함께 바다를 다니는 다시스 선단이 있어서, 삼 년에 한 번씩 다시스 선단이 금과 은과 상아와 원숭이와 공작을 싣고 들어왔다.
23 So King Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom.So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom.그리하여 솔로몬 왕은 부와 지혜에 있어서 세상의 모든 왕을 능가하였다.
24 All the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom which God had put in his heart.And all the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.온 세상이 하나님께서 솔로몬의 마음에 두신 지혜를 들으려고 그를 만나기를 구하였다.
25 Year after year, every man brought his tribute, vessels of silver, vessels of gold, clothing, armor, spices, horses, and mules.And they brought every man his tribute, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and raiment, and armor, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.그들은 저마다 예물을 가져왔으니, 은그릇과 금그릇과 의복과 무기와 향료와 말과 노새를 해마다 정한 양만큼 바쳤다.
26 Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen. He had one thousand four hundred chariots and twelve thousand horsemen. He kept them in the chariot cities and with the king at Jerusalem.And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, that he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.솔로몬은 병거와 기병을 모았는데, 병거 천사백 대와 기병 만 이천 명을 두어, 병거를 두는 성읍들과 예루살렘 왕 곁에 배치하였다.
27 The king made silver as common as stones in Jerusalem, and cedars as common as the sycamore trees that are in the lowland.And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycomore-trees that are in the lowland, for abundance.왕은 예루살렘에서 은을 돌처럼 흔하게 하였고, 백향목을 저지대의 뽕나무처럼 많게 하였다.
28 The horses which Solomon had were brought out of Egypt. The king’s merchants received them in droves, each drove at a price.And the horses which Solomon had were brought out of Egypt; and the king’s merchants received them in droves, each drove at a price.솔로몬이 가진 말들은 이집트에서 들여온 것이었으니, 왕의 무역상들이 떼로 사들였는데 떼마다 정한 값을 치렀다.
29 A chariot was imported from Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for one hundred fifty shekels; and so they exported them to all the kings of the Hittites and to the kings of Syria.And a chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty; and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, did they bring them out by their means.병거 한 대가 이집트에서 은 육백 세겔에 들어와 나갔고, 말 한 마리는 백오십 세겔이었다. 또 그들은 그렇게 헷 사람의 모든 왕과 시리아 왕들을 위해서도 그것들을 들여다 주었다.
