1 Listen to this word which I take up for a lamentation over you, O house of Israel:Hear ye this word which I take up for a lamentation over you, O house of Israel.이스라엘 집이여, 내가 너희를 두고 부르는 이 슬픔의 노래를 들으라.
2 “ The virgin of Israel has fallen; She shall rise no more. She is cast down on her land; there is no one to raise her up.”The virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall no more rise: she is cast down upon her land; there is none to raise her up."처녀 이스라엘이 쓰러졌으니 다시는 일어나지 못하리라. 그 땅 위에 버려졌으나 일으켜 줄 자가 없구나."
3 For the Lord Yahweh says: “ The city that went out a thousand shall have a hundred left, and that which went out one hundred shall have ten left to the house of Israel.”For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: The city that went forth a thousand shall have a hundred left, and that which went forth a hundred shall have ten left, to the house of Israel.주 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. "이스라엘 집에서 천 명이 나가던 성읍에는 백 명만 남을 것이요, 백 명이 나가던 성읍에는 열 명만 남을 것이다."
4 For Yahweh says to the house of Israel: “ Seek me, and you will live;For thus saith Jehovah unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live;여호와께서 이스라엘 집에게 이렇게 말씀하신다. "나를 찾으라. 그리하면 너희가 살리라.
5 but don’t seek Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and don’t pass to Beersheba; for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nothing.but seek not Beth-el, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beer-sheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Beth-el shall come to nought.그러나 벧엘을 찾지 말고 길갈로 들어가지 말며 브엘세바로 건너가지도 말라. 길갈은 반드시 사로잡혀 가고 벧엘은 헛것이 되리라.
6 Seek Yahweh, and you will live, lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and it devour, and there be no one to quench it in Bethel.Seek Jehovah, and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and it devour, and there be none to quench it in Beth-el.여호와를 찾으라. 그리하면 너희가 살리라. 그렇지 않으면 그분이 불같이 요셉의 집에 터져 나와 삼키실 것이니, 벧엘에서 그 불을 끌 자가 없으리라.
7 You who turn justice to wormwood, and cast down righteousness to the earth!Ye who turn justice to wormwood, and cast down righteousness to the earth,너희는 공의를 쓴 쑥으로 바꾸고 의를 땅에 던져 버리는 자들이로다.
8 Seek him who made the Pleiades and Orion, and turns the shadow of death into the morning, and makes the day dark with night; who calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out on the surface of the earth, Yahweh is his name,seek him that maketh the Pleiades and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night; that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth ( Jehovah is his name );묘성과 삼성을 만드시고, 죽음의 그늘을 아침으로 바꾸시며, 낮을 어두운 밤으로 만드시고, 바닷물을 불러 땅 위에 쏟아부으시는 그분을 찾으라. 그 이름은 여호와시라.
9 who brings sudden destruction on the strong, so that destruction comes on the fortress.that bringeth sudden destruction upon the strong, so that destruction cometh upon the fortress.그분은 강한 자에게 갑작스런 멸망을 내리시니, 요새에도 멸망이 닥치는도다.
10 They hate him who reproves in the gate, and they abhor him who speaks blamelessly.They hate him that reproveth in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly.그들은 성문에서 바른말로 책망하는 자를 미워하고, 흠 없이 말하는 자를 싫어하는도다.
11 Therefore, because you trample on the poor and take taxes from him of wheat, you have built houses of cut stone, but you will not dwell in them. You have planted pleasant vineyards, but you shall not drink their wine.Forasmuch therefore as ye trample upon the poor, and take exactions from him of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drink the wine thereof.너희가 가난한 자를 짓밟고 그에게서 밀을 세금으로 빼앗았으니, 너희가 다듬은 돌로 집을 지었으나 거기 살지 못할 것이요, 아름다운 포도원을 가꾸었으나 그 포도주를 마시지 못하리라.
12 For I know how many are your offenses, and how great are your sins — you who afflict the just, who take a bribe, and who turn away the needy in the courts.For I know how manifold are your transgressions, and how mighty are your sins — ye that afflict the just, that take a bribe, and that turn aside the needy in the gate from their right.너희의 허물이 얼마나 많고 너희의 죄가 얼마나 큰지 내가 아노라. 너희는 의로운 자를 괴롭히고, 뇌물을 받으며, 법정에서 궁핍한 자를 억울하게 내치는 자들이로다.
13 Therefore a prudent person keeps silent in such a time, for it is an evil time.Therefore he that is prudent shall keep silence in such a time; for it is an evil time.그러므로 슬기로운 자는 그런 때에 잠잠하나니, 이는 악한 때임이라.
14 Seek good, and not evil, that you may live; and so Yahweh, the God of Armies, will be with you, as you say.Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live; and so Jehovah, the God of hosts, will be with you, as ye say.선을 구하고 악을 구하지 말라. 그리하면 너희가 살리니, 너희가 말하는 대로 만군의 하나님 여호와께서 너희와 함께하시리라.
15 Hate evil, love good, and establish justice in the courts. It may be that Yahweh, the God of Armies, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.”Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish justice in the gate: it may be that Jehovah, the God of hosts, will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.악을 미워하고 선을 사랑하며 법정에서 공의를 세우라. 혹시 만군의 하나님 여호와께서 요셉의 남은 자에게 은혜를 베푸시리라."
16 Therefore Yahweh, the God of Armies, the Lord, says: “ Wailing will be in all the wide ways. They will say in all the streets, ‘ Alas! Alas!’ They will call the farmer to mourning, and those who are skillful in lamentation to wailing.Therefore thus saith Jehovah, the God of hosts, the Lord: Wailing shall be in all the broad ways; and they shall say in all the streets, Alas! alas! and they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and such as are skilful in lamentation to wailing.그러므로 만군의 하나님이신 주 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. "모든 광장에 통곡이 있고 모든 거리에서 '아이고, 아이고!' 하고 부르짖으리라. 농부를 불러 애곡하게 하고, 슬픈 노래에 능한 자를 불러 통곡하게 하리라.
17 In all vineyards there will be wailing, for I will pass through the middle of you,” says Yahweh.And in all vineyards shall be wailing; for I will pass through the midst of thee, saith Jehovah.모든 포도원에 통곡이 있으리니, 이는 내가 너희 가운데로 지나갈 것임이라." 여호와께서 말씀하신다.
18 “ Woe to you who desire the day of Yahweh! Why do you long for the day of Yahweh? It is darkness, and not light.Woe unto you that desire the day of Jehovah! Wherefore would ye have the day of Jehovah? It is darkness, and not light."여호와의 날을 사모하는 너희에게 화가 있으리라! 어찌하여 너희가 여호와의 날을 사모하느냐? 그날은 어둠이요 빛이 아니로다.
19 As if a man fled from a lion, and a bear met him; or he went into the house and leaned his hand on the wall, and a snake bit him.As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.마치 사람이 사자를 피하다가 곰을 만나고, 집에 들어가 손을 벽에 기대다가 뱀에게 물리는 것 같으리라.
20 Won’t the day of Yahweh be darkness, and not light? Even very dark, and no brightness in it?Shall not the day of Jehovah be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?여호와의 날이 어둠이요 빛이 아니며, 캄캄하여 그 안에 광명이 없지 아니하겠느냐?
21 I hate, I despise your feasts, and I can’t stand your solemn assemblies.I hate, I despise your feasts, and I will take no delight in your solemn assemblies.나는 너희의 절기를 미워하고 멸시하며, 너희의 엄숙한 모임을 견딜 수 없노라.
22 Yes, though you offer me your burnt offerings and meal offerings, I will not accept them; neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat animals.Yea, though ye offer me your burnt-offerings and meal-offerings, I will not accept them; neither will I regard the peace-offerings of your fat beasts.너희가 내게 번제와 소제를 드릴지라도 내가 받지 아니하며, 살진 짐승의 화목제도 돌아보지 아니하리라.
23 Take away from me the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps.Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.너희의 노랫소리를 내 앞에서 치우라! 너희의 수금 소리도 내가 듣지 아니하리라.
24 But let justice roll on like rivers, and righteousness like a mighty stream.But let justice roll down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.오직 공의를 강물 같이, 의를 마르지 않는 시내 같이 흐르게 할지니라.
25 “ Did you bring to me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, house of Israel?Did ye bring unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?이스라엘 집이여, 너희가 광야에서 사십 년 동안 내게 희생제물과 소제물을 드렸느냐?
26 You also carried the tent of your king and the shrine of your images, the star of your god, which you made for yourselves.Yea, ye have borne the tabernacle of your king and the shrine of your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves.너희가 너희 왕의 장막과 너희가 스스로 만든 우상들의 신당, 곧 너희 신의 별을 메고 다녔도다.
27 Therefore I will cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus,” says Yahweh, whose name is the God of Armies.Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, saith Jehovah, whose name is the God of hosts.그러므로 내가 너희를 다마스쿠스 너머로 사로잡혀 가게 하리라." 그 이름이 만군의 하나님이신 여호와께서 말씀하신다.
