1 Listen to this word, you cows of Bashan, who are on the mountain of Samaria, who oppress the poor, who crush the needy, who tell their husbands, “Bring us drinks!”Hear this word, ye kine of Bashan, that are in the mountain of Samaria, that oppress the poor, that crush the needy, that say unto their lords, Bring, and let us drink.이 말씀을 들으라, 사마리아 산에 있는 바산의 암소들아. 너희는 가난한 사람을 억압하고 궁핍한 사람을 짓밟으며, 너희 남편들에게 "마실 것을 가져오라" 하고 말하는 자들이다.
2 The Lord Yahweh has sworn by his holiness, “ Behold, the days shall come on you that they will take you away with hooks, and the last of you with fish hooks.The Lord Jehovah hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that they shall take you away with hooks, and your residue with fish-hooks.주 여호와께서 자신의 거룩하심을 두고 맹세하셨다. "보라, 너희에게 그날이 이르리니, 그들이 갈고리로 너희를 끌어가고, 너희 가운데 마지막 남은 자들까지 낚싯바늘로 끌어가리라.
3 You will go out at the breaks in the wall, everyone straight before her; and you will cast yourselves into Harmon,” says Yahweh.And ye shall go out at the breaches, every one straight before her; and ye shall cast yourselves into Harmon, saith Jehovah.너희는 저마다 곧장 앞을 향하여 무너진 성벽 틈으로 나가게 되고, 하르몬으로 내던져지리라"고 여호와께서 말씀하신다.
4 “Go to Bethel, and sin; to Gilgal, and sin more. Bring your sacrifices every morning, your tithes every three days,Come to Beth-el, and transgress; to Gilgal, and multiply transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, and your tithes every three days;"벧엘로 가서 죄를 지어라. 길갈로 가서 더 많이 죄를 지어라. 아침마다 너희 제물을 가져오고, 사흘마다 너희 십일조를 바쳐라.
5 offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving of that which is leavened, and proclaim free will offerings and brag about them; for this pleases you, you children of Israel,” says the Lord Yahweh.and offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving of that which is leavened, and proclaim freewill-offerings and publish them: for this pleaseth you, O ye children of Israel, saith the Lord Jehovah.누룩 든 것으로 감사의 제물을 드리고, 자원하여 드리는 예물을 선포하며 그것을 자랑하여라. 이스라엘 자손아, 이것이 너희를 기쁘게 하는구나"고 주 여호와께서 말씀하신다.
6 “ I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and lack of bread in every town; yet you haven’t returned to me,” says Yahweh.And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places; yet have ye not returned unto me, saith Jehovah."나도 너희 모든 성읍에서 이를 깨끗하게 하였고, 너희 모든 마을에서 양식이 떨어지게 하였다. 그런데도 너희가 내게로 돌아오지 않았다"고 여호와께서 말씀하신다.
7 “ I also have withheld the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest; and I caused it to rain on one city, and caused it not to rain on another city. One field was rained on, and the field where it didn’t rain withered.And I also have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest; and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered."또 추수까지 아직 석 달이 남았을 때에 내가 너희에게 비를 내리지 않았다. 한 성읍에는 비를 내리게 하고 다른 성읍에는 비를 내리지 않게 하였더니, 한 곳은 비를 맞고 비가 내리지 않은 곳은 말라 버렸다.
8 So two or three cities staggered to one city to drink water, and were not satisfied; yet you haven’t returned to me,” says Yahweh.So two or three cities wandered unto one city to drink water, and were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith Jehovah.그래서 두세 성읍이 물을 마시려고 한 성읍으로 비틀거리며 갔으나 만족하지 못하였다. 그런데도 너희가 내게로 돌아오지 않았다"고 여호와께서 말씀하신다.
9 “ I struck you with blight and mildew many times in your gardens and your vineyards, and the swarming locusts have devoured your fig trees and your olive trees; yet you haven’t returned to me,” says Yahweh.I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: the multitude of your gardens and your vineyards and your fig-trees and your olive-trees hath the palmer-worm devoured: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith Jehovah."내가 너희 동산과 포도원을 마름병과 곰팡이병으로 여러 번 쳤고, 너희 무화과나무와 올리브나무를 메뚜기 떼가 삼켜 버렸다. 그런데도 너희가 내게로 돌아오지 않았다"고 여호와께서 말씀하신다.
10 “ I sent plagues among you like I did Egypt. I have slain your young men with the sword, and have carried away your horses. I filled your nostrils with the stench of your camp, yet you haven’t returned to me,” says Yahweh.I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have carried away your horses; and I have made the stench of your camp to come up even into your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith Jehovah."내가 이집트에 보냈던 것처럼 너희에게 전염병을 보냈다. 내가 너희 젊은이들을 칼로 죽이고 너희 말들을 끌어갔으며, 너희 진영의 악취가 너희 콧속에 가득하게 하였다. 그런데도 너희가 내게로 돌아오지 않았다"고 여호와께서 말씀하신다.
11 “ I have overthrown some of you, as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and you were like a burning stick plucked out of the fire; yet you haven’t returned to me,” says Yahweh.I have overthrown cities among you, as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a brand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith Jehovah."하나님께서 소돔과 고모라를 멸하셨던 것처럼 내가 너희 가운데 얼마를 멸하였더니, 너희가 불 속에서 끄집어낸 타다 남은 막대기와 같았다. 그런데도 너희가 내게로 돌아오지 않았다"고 여호와께서 말씀하신다.
12 “ Therefore I will do this to you, Israel; because I will do this to you, prepare to meet your God, Israel.Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel; and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel."그러므로 이스라엘아, 내가 이같이 너희에게 행하리라. 내가 이것을 너희에게 행할 것이니, 이스라엘아, 너희 하나님 만나기를 준비하여라."
13 For, behold, he who forms the mountains, creates the wind, declares to man what is his thought, who makes the morning darkness, and treads on the high places of the earth: Yahweh, the God of Armies, is his name.”For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought; that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth— Jehovah, the God of hosts, is his name.보라, 산을 빚으시고 바람을 창조하시며 사람에게 그의 생각이 무엇인지를 알려 주시는 분, 아침을 어둠으로 만드시고 땅의 높은 곳을 밟고 다니시는 분, 그분의 이름은 만군의 하나님 여호와이시다.
