1 Hear this word that Yahweh has spoken against you, children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up out of the land of Egypt, saying:Hear this word that Jehovah hath spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up out of the land of Egypt, saying,이스라엘 자손아, 여호와께서 너희를 두고 하신 이 말씀을 들어라. 내가 이집트 땅에서 이끌어 낸 온 족속을 두고 하신 말씀이다.
2 “ I have only chosen you of all the families of the earth. Therefore I will punish you for all of your sins.”You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will visit upon you all your iniquities."땅의 모든 족속 가운데 오직 너희만을 내가 택하였다. 그러므로 너희의 모든 죄에 대하여 내가 너희를 벌하겠다."
3 Do two walk together, unless they have agreed?Shall two walk together, except they have agreed?두 사람이 서로 약속하지 않고서야 어찌 함께 걷겠느냐?
4 Will a lion roar in the thicket, when he has no prey? Does a young lion cry out of his den, if he has caught nothing?Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?사자가 잡을 먹이가 없는데 숲에서 으르렁거리겠느냐? 젊은 사자가 아무것도 잡지 못했는데 굴에서 소리를 지르겠느냐?
5 Can a bird fall in a trap on the earth, where no snare is set for him? Does a snare spring up from the ground, when there is nothing to catch?Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin is set for him? shall a snare spring up from the ground, and have taken nothing at all?덫이 놓이지 않은 땅에 새가 걸려들겠느냐? 잡힐 것이 없는데 덫이 땅에서 튀어 오르겠느냐?
6 Does the trumpet alarm sound in a city, without the people being afraid? Does evil happen to a city, and Yahweh hasn’t done it?Shall the trumpet be blown in a city, and the people not be afraid? shall evil befall a city, and Jehovah hath not done it?성읍에서 나팔로 경보가 울리는데 백성이 두려워하지 않겠느냐? 여호와께서 하지 않으셨는데 성읍에 재앙이 닥치겠느냐?
7 Surely the Lord Yahweh will do nothing, unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets.Surely the Lord Jehovah will do nothing, except he reveal his secret unto his servants the prophets.주 여호와께서는 자기의 비밀을 그 종 선지자들에게 알리지 않고서는 결코 아무 일도 하지 않으신다.
8 The lion has roared. Who will not fear? The Lord Yahweh has spoken. Who can but prophesy?The lion hath roared; who will not fear? The Lord Jehovah hath spoken; who can but prophesy?사자가 으르렁거렸으니 누가 두려워하지 않겠느냐? 주 여호와께서 말씀하셨으니 누가 선지자 노릇을 하지 않을 수 있겠느냐?
9 Proclaim in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, “Assemble yourselves on the mountains of Samaria, and see what unrest is in her, and what oppression is among them.”Publish ye in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold what great tumults are therein, and what oppressions in the midst thereof.아스돗의 궁궐들과 이집트 땅의 궁궐들에 선포하여 이렇게 말하여라. "사마리아 산들에 모여, 그 안에 얼마나 큰 소란이 있는지, 그들 가운데 얼마나 심한 압제가 있는지 보아라."
10 “ Indeed they don’t know to do right,” says Yahweh, “ Who hoard plunder and loot in their palaces.”For they know not to do right, saith Jehovah, who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.여호와께서 말씀하신다. "그들은 옳은 일을 행할 줄 모르며, 자기 궁궐에 약탈과 강탈로 빼앗은 것을 쌓아 둔다."
11 Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: “ An adversary will overrun the land; and he will pull down your strongholds, and your fortresses will be plundered.”Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: An adversary there shall be, even round about the land; and he shall bring down thy strength from thee, and thy palaces shall be plundered.그러므로 주 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. "한 대적이 이 땅을 휩쓸 것이다. 그가 네 요새들을 무너뜨릴 것이며, 네 산성들이 약탈당할 것이다."
12 Yahweh says: “ As the shepherd rescues out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear, so shall the children of Israel be rescued who sit in Samaria on the corner of a couch, and on the silken cushions of a bed.”Thus saith Jehovah: As the shepherd rescueth out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear, so shall the children of Israel be rescued that sit in Samaria in the corner of a couch, and on the silken cushions of a bed.여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. "목자가 사자의 입에서 양의 두 다리나 귀 한 조각을 건져 내듯이, 사마리아에 사는 이스라엘 자손, 곧 침상 모퉁이와 비단 방석 위에 앉아 있는 자들도 그렇게 건짐을 받을 것이다."
13 “ Listen, and testify against the house of Jacob,” says the Lord Yahweh, the God of Armies.Hear ye, and testify against the house of Jacob, saith the Lord Jehovah, the God of hosts.만군의 하나님이신 주 여호와께서 말씀하신다. "들어라, 그리고 야곱의 집을 향하여 증언하여라."
14 “ For in the day that I visit the transgressions of Israel on him, I will also visit the altars of Bethel; and the horns of the altar will be cut off, and fall to the ground.For in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel upon him, I will also visit the altars of Beth-el; and the horns of the altar shall be cut off, and fall to the ground."내가 이스라엘의 죄악을 벌하는 그날에, 벧엘의 제단들도 벌하겠다. 제단의 뿔들이 잘려 땅에 떨어질 것이다.
15 I will strike the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory will perish, and the great houses will have an end,” says Yahweh.And I will smite the winter-house with the summer-house; and the houses of ivory shall perish, and the great houses shall have an end, saith Jehovah.내가 겨울 집을 여름 집과 함께 치겠다. 상아로 꾸민 집들이 무너지고, 큰 집들이 끝장날 것이다." 여호와께서 말씀하신다.
