1 It is indeed unnecessary for me to write to you concerning the service to the saints,For as touching the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you:성도들을 섬기는 이 일에 관하여는 사실 내가 여러분에게 굳이 쓸 필요가 없습니다.
2 for I know your readiness, of which I boast on your behalf to those of Macedonia, that Achaia has been prepared for the past year. Your zeal has stirred up very many of them.for I know your readiness, of which I glory on your behalf to them of Macedonia, that Achaia hath been prepared for a year past; and your zeal hath stirred up very many of them.나는 여러분이 기꺼이 하려는 마음을 알고 있어서, 마케도니아 사람들에게 여러분을 두고 자랑하기를, 아가야는 이미 작년부터 준비되어 있었다고 하였습니다. 그리고 여러분의 열심이 그들 가운데 아주 많은 사람을 분발하게 하였습니다.
3 But I have sent the brothers so that our boasting on your behalf may not be in vain in this respect, that, just as I said, you may be prepared,But I have sent the brethren, that our glorying on your behalf may not be made void in this respect; that, even as I said, ye may be prepared:그러나 내가 형제들을 보낸 것은, 이 일에 있어서 여러분을 두고 한 우리의 자랑이 헛되지 않게 하려는 것이니, 곧 내가 말한 대로 여러분이 준비되어 있게 하려는 것입니다.
4 lest by any means, if anyone from Macedonia comes there with me and finds you unprepared, we ( to say nothing of you ) would be disappointed in this confident boasting.lest by any means, if there come with me any of Macedonia and find you unprepared, we ( that we say not, ye ) should be put to shame in this confidence.혹시 마케도니아 사람들이 나와 함께 가서 여러분이 준비되지 않은 것을 보게 되면, 이렇게 확신을 가지고 자랑한 우리가 (여러분은 말할 것도 없고) 부끄러움을 당하지 않게 하려는 것입니다.
5 I thought it necessary therefore to entreat the brothers that they would go before to you and arrange ahead of time the generous gift that you promised before, that the same might be ready as a matter of generosity, and not of greediness.I thought it necessary therefore to entreat the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your aforepromised bounty, that the same might be ready as a matter of bounty, and not of extortion.그러므로 나는 형제들에게 부탁하여 먼저 여러분에게 가서, 여러분이 전에 약속한 그 후한 헌금을 미리 준비해 두게 하는 것이 필요하다고 생각하였습니다. 그래야 그것이 마지못해 짜내는 것이 아니라 기꺼운 선물로 준비될 것입니다.
6 Remember this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.But this I say, He that soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he that soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.이것을 기억하십시오. 적게 심는 사람은 적게 거두고, 많이 심는 사람은 많이 거둡니다.
7 Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.Let each man do according as he hath purposed in his heart: not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.각 사람은 마음에 정한 대로 하고, 아까워하거나 억지로 하지 마십시오. 하나님께서는 기쁜 마음으로 내는 사람을 사랑하십니다.
8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound to every good work.And God is able to make all grace abound unto you; that ye, having always all sufficiency in everything, may abound unto every good work:하나님께서는 여러분에게 모든 은혜를 넘치게 하실 수 있으니, 그리하여 여러분이 언제나 모든 일에 모든 것을 넉넉히 가지고 모든 선한 일에 넘치게 하려는 것입니다.
9 As it is written, “ He has scattered abroad. He has given to the poor. His righteousness remains forever.”as it is written, He hath scattered abroad, he hath given to the poor; His righteousness abideth for ever.기록된 바와 같습니다. "그가 흩어 가난한 사람들에게 주었으니, 그의 의가 영원히 있다."
10 Now may he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food, supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness,And he that supplieth seed to the sower and bread for food, shall supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness:이제 씨 뿌리는 사람에게 씨를 주시고 먹을 양식을 주시는 분께서, 여러분이 뿌릴 씨를 공급하시고 늘리시며, 여러분의 의의 열매를 더하게 하실 것입니다.
11 you being enriched in everything for all generosity, which produces thanksgiving to God through us.ye being enriched in everything unto all liberality, which worketh through us thanksgiving to God.여러분은 모든 일에 넉넉하게 되어 모든 후한 마음을 베풀게 될 것이고, 이것이 우리를 통해 하나님께 드리는 감사를 이루게 합니다.
12 For this service of giving that you perform not only makes up for lack among the saints, but abounds also through much giving of thanks to God,For the ministration of this service not only filleth up the measure of the wants of the saints, but aboundeth also through many thanksgivings unto God;이 섬김의 헌금은 성도들의 부족한 것을 채워 줄 뿐만 아니라, 또한 많은 사람이 하나님께 드리는 감사로 넘쳐나게 합니다.
13 seeing that through the proof given by this service, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the Good News of Christ and for the generosity of your contribution to them and to all,seeing that through the proving of you by this ministration they glorify God for the obedience of your confession unto the gospel of Christ, and for the liberality of your contribution unto them and unto all;이 섬김으로 증명된 것을 보고, 그들은 여러분이 그리스도의 복음을 고백하며 순종하는 것과, 그들과 모든 사람에게 후하게 나누는 것을 인하여 하나님께 영광을 돌립니다.
14 while they themselves also, with supplication on your behalf, yearn for you by reason of the exceeding grace of God in you.while they themselves also, with supplication on your behalf, long after you by reason of the exceeding grace of God in you.또한 그들은 여러분 안에 있는 하나님의 넘치는 은혜로 인하여, 여러분을 위해 간구하며 여러분을 사모합니다.
15 Now thanks be to God for his unspeakable gift!Thanks be to God for his unspeakable gift.말로 다 할 수 없는 하나님의 선물로 인하여 하나님께 감사를 드립니다!
