1 This is the third time I am coming to you. “ At the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.”This is the third time I am coming to you. At the mouth of two witnesses or three shall every word be established.이번이 내가 여러분에게 가는 세 번째 길입니다. "두세 증인의 입으로 모든 말이 확정되리라" 하였습니다.
2 I have warned previously, and I warn again, as when I was present the second time, so now, being absent, I write to those who have sinned before now and to all the rest that if I come again, I will not spare,I have said beforehand, and I do say beforehand, as when I was present the second time, so now, being absent, to them that have sinned heretofore, and to all the rest, that, if I come again, I will not spare;내가 두 번째로 여러분과 함께 있었을 때 미리 말했던 것처럼, 이제 떠나 있으면서도 미리 말해 둡니다. 전에 죄지은 사람들과 그 밖의 모든 사람에게 말하노니, 내가 다시 가면 결코 용서하지 않겠습니다.
3 seeing that you seek a proof of Christ who speaks in me who is not weak, but is powerful in you.seeing that ye seek a proof of Christ that speaketh in me; who to you-ward is not weak, but is powerful in you:이는 그리스도께서 내 안에서 말씀하신다는 증거를 여러분이 찾기 때문입니다. 그분은 여러분을 향하여 약하지 않으시고, 도리어 여러분 안에서 능력이 되십니다.
4 For he was crucified through weakness, yet he lives through the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we will live with him through the power of God toward you.for he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth through the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him through the power of God toward you.그분은 약함으로 인해 십자가에 못 박히셨으나, 하나님의 능력으로 살아 계십니다. 우리도 그분 안에서 약하지만, 여러분을 향하여 하나님의 능력으로 그분과 함께 살아갈 것입니다.
5 Examine your own selves, whether you are in the faith. Test your own selves. Or don’ t you know about your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you?— unless indeed you are disqualified.Try your own selves, whether ye are in the faith; prove your own selves. Or know ye not as to your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you? unless indeed ye be reprobate.여러분 자신이 믿음 안에 있는지 스스로 시험해 보십시오. 여러분 자신을 시험해 보십시오. 예수 그리스도께서 여러분 안에 계신 줄을 여러분 자신에 대하여 알지 못합니까? 알지 못한다면 정말로 여러분은 실격된 사람입니다.
6 But I hope that you will know that we aren’t disqualified.But I hope that ye shall know that we are not reprobate.그러나 우리는 실격된 사람이 아님을 여러분이 알게 되기를 바랍니다.
7 Now I pray to God that you do no evil; not that we may appear approved, but that you may do that which is honorable, though we may seem to have failed.Now we pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we may appear approved, but that ye may do that which is honorable, though we be as reprobate.이제 우리는 여러분이 아무런 악도 행하지 않기를 하나님께 기도합니다. 이는 우리가 인정받은 자로 보이려 함이 아니라, 우리가 비록 버림받은 자처럼 여겨질지라도 여러분이 선한 일을 행하게 하려는 것입니다.
8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.우리는 진리를 거슬러서는 아무것도 할 수 없고, 오직 진리를 위해서만 할 수 있습니다.
9 For we rejoice when we are weak and you are strong. We also pray for this: your becoming perfect.For we rejoice, when we are weak, and ye are strong: this we also pray for, even your perfecting.우리가 약하고 여러분이 강할 때에 우리는 기뻐합니다. 우리는 또한 여러분이 온전해지기를 기도합니다.
10 For this cause I write these things while absent, that I may not deal sharply when present, according to the authority which the Lord gave me for building up and not for tearing down.For this cause I write these things while absent, that I may not when present deal sharply, according to the authority which the Lord gave me for building up, and not for casting down.내가 떠나 있으면서 이 글을 쓰는 까닭은, 주께서 무너뜨리려고가 아니라 세우려고 내게 주신 권위를 따라, 함께 있을 때에 엄하게 대하지 않으려는 것입니다.
11 Finally, brothers, rejoice! Be perfected. Be comforted. Be of the same mind. Live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfected; be comforted; be of the same mind; live in peace: and the God of love and peace shall be with you.끝으로 형제들이여, 기뻐하십시오. 온전해지고, 위로를 받고, 같은 마음을 품고, 평화 가운데 사십시오. 그리하면 사랑과 평화의 하나님께서 여러분과 함께하실 것입니다.
