2 Open your hearts to us. We wronged no one. We corrupted no one. We took advantage of no one.Open your hearts to us: we wronged no man, we corrupted no man, we took advantage of no man.여러분의 마음을 우리에게 열어 주십시오. 우리는 아무에게도 잘못한 일이 없고, 아무도 망친 일이 없으며, 아무도 이용해 먹은 일이 없습니다.
3 I say this not to condemn you, for I have said before that you are in our hearts to die together and live together.I say it not to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die together and live together.내가 이 말을 하는 것은 여러분을 정죄하려는 것이 아닙니다. 앞서 말한 대로, 여러분은 우리와 함께 죽고 함께 살 만큼 우리 마음속에 있는 사람들입니다.
4 Great is my boldness of speech toward you. Great is my boasting on your behalf. I am filled with comfort. 5 For even when we had come into Macedonia, our flesh had no relief, but we were afflicted on every side. Fightings were outside. Fear was inside.For even when we were come into Macedonia our flesh had no relief, but we were afflicted on every side; without were fightings, within were fears.우리가 마케도니아에 들어갔을 때에도 우리 몸은 도무지 쉴 틈이 없었고, 사방에서 환난을 당했습니다. 밖에서는 다툼이 있었고, 안에서는 두려움이 있었습니다.
6 Nevertheless, he who comforts the lowly, God, comforted us by the coming of Titus,Nevertheless he that comforteth the lowly, even God, comforted us by the coming of Titus;그러나 낮은 사람을 위로하시는 분, 곧 하나님께서 디도가 와 줌으로 우리를 위로해 주셨습니다.
7 and not by his coming only, but also by the comfort with which he was comforted in you while he told us of your longing, your mourning, and your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced still more.and not by his coming only, but also by the comfort wherewith he was comforted in you, while he told us your longing, your mourning, your zeal for me; so that I rejoiced yet more.그가 와 준 것뿐만 아니라, 그가 여러분에게서 받은 위로로도 우리를 위로해 주셨습니다. 그가 여러분의 사모함과 애통함과 나를 향한 열심을 우리에게 전해 주었으므로, 나는 더욱더 기뻐했습니다.
8 For though I grieved you with my letter, I do not regret it, though I did regret it. For I see that my letter made you grieve, though just for a while.For though I made you sorry with my epistle, I do not regret it: though I did regret it ( for I see that that epistle made you sorry, though but for a season ),내가 보낸 편지로 여러분을 마음 아프게 했더라도, 나는 그것을 후회하지 않습니다. 한때는 후회하기도 했습니다. 그 편지가 여러분을 잠시나마 마음 아프게 한 것을 내가 알기 때문입니다.
9 I now rejoice, not that you were grieved, but that you were grieved to repentance. For you were grieved in a godly way, that you might suffer loss by us in nothing.I now rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye were made sorry unto repentance; for ye were made sorry after a godly sort, that ye might suffer loss by us in nothing.그러나 이제 나는 기뻐합니다. 여러분이 마음 아파한 것 때문이 아니라, 그 슬픔이 회개에 이르게 했기 때문입니다. 여러분이 하나님의 뜻을 따라 마음 아파했으니, 우리로 인해 아무런 손해도 입지 않은 것입니다.
10 For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world produces death.For godly sorrow worketh repentance unto salvation, a repentance which bringeth no regret: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.하나님의 뜻을 따른 슬픔은 구원에 이르는 회개를 이루며, 거기에는 후회가 없습니다. 그러나 세상의 슬픔은 죽음을 이룹니다.
11 For behold, this same thing, that you were grieved in a godly way, what earnest care it worked in you. Yes, what defense, indignation, fear, longing, zeal, and vindication! In everything you demonstrated yourselves to be pure in the matter.For behold, this selfsame thing, that ye were made sorry after a godly sort, what earnest care it wrought in you, yea what clearing of yourselves, yea what indignation, yea what fear, yea what longing, yea what zeal, yea what avenging! In everything ye approved yourselves to be pure in the matter.보십시오, 바로 이것, 곧 여러분이 하나님의 뜻을 따라 마음 아파한 것이 여러분 안에 얼마나 간절한 정성을 이루어 냈습니까. 그렇습니다, 얼마나 많은 변명과 분개와 두려움과 사모함과 열심과 응징을 이루어 냈습니까! 여러분은 이 모든 일에서 자신이 그 문제에 대해 깨끗하다는 것을 입증했습니다.
12 So although I wrote to you, I wrote not for his cause that did the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered the wrong, but that your earnest care for us might be revealed in you in the sight of God.So although I wrote unto you, I wrote not for his cause that did the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered the wrong, but that your earnest care for us might be made manifest unto you in the sight of God.그러므로 내가 여러분에게 편지를 썼더라도, 그것은 잘못을 저지른 사람 때문도 아니고 잘못을 당한 사람 때문도 아니라, 우리를 향한 여러분의 간절한 정성이 하나님 앞에서 여러분에게 드러나게 하려는 것이었습니다.
13 Therefore we have been comforted. In our comfort we rejoiced the more exceedingly for the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by you all.Therefore we have been comforted: and in our comfort we joyed the more exceedingly for the joy of Titus, because his spirit hath been refreshed by you all.그러므로 우리는 위로를 받았습니다. 우리가 받은 위로에 더하여, 디도의 기쁨으로 인해 우리는 더욱더 크게 기뻐했습니다. 그의 마음이 여러분 모두로 인해 새 힘을 얻었기 때문입니다.
14 For if in anything I have boasted to him on your behalf, I was not disappointed. But as we spoke all things to you in truth, so our glorying also which I made before Titus was found to be truth.For if in anything I have gloried to him on your behalf, I was not put to shame; but as we spake all things to you in truth, so our glorying also which I made before Titus was found to be truth.내가 여러분을 두고 그에게 무엇인가 자랑한 일이 있더라도, 나는 부끄러움을 당하지 않았습니다. 우리가 여러분에게 모든 것을 진실하게 말한 것처럼, 우리가 디도 앞에서 한 자랑도 진실로 드러났기 때문입니다.
15 His affection is more abundantly toward you, while he remembers all of your obedience, how with fear and trembling you received him.And his affection is more abundantly toward you, while he remembereth the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him.그가 여러분 모두의 순종을, 곧 여러분이 두려움과 떨림으로 그를 맞아들인 것을 기억할 때, 그의 사랑은 여러분을 향해 더욱더 넘칩니다.
16 I rejoice that in everything I am confident concerning you.I rejoice that in everything I am of good courage concerning you.나는 모든 일에서 여러분에 대해 확신하게 되어 기뻐합니다.
