1 Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children.Be ye therefore imitators of God, as beloved children;그러므로 사랑받는 자녀답게 하나님을 본받는 사람이 되십시오.
2 Walk in love, even as Christ also loved us and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.and walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odor of a sweet smell.그리고 사랑 안에서 행하십시오. 그리스도께서도 여러분을 사랑하셔서, 우리를 위해 자기 자신을 내어 주시고 향기로운 예물과 제물로 하나님께 드리셨습니다.
3 But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints;But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as becometh saints;그러나 음행과 온갖 더러운 것이나 탐욕은, 거룩한 사람들에게 마땅한 대로, 여러분 가운데서 입에 올리지도 마십시오.
4 nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not appropriate, but rather giving of thanks.nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, or jesting, which are not befitting: but rather giving of thanks.추한 행실이나 어리석은 말이나 천박한 농담도 마찬가지입니다. 이런 것들은 합당하지 않으니, 오히려 감사하는 말을 하십시오.
5 Know this for sure, that no sexually immoral person, nor unclean person, nor covetous man ( who is an idolater ), has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and God.For this ye know of a surety, that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.여러분은 이것을 분명히 알아 두십시오. 음행하는 사람이나 더러운 사람이나, 우상 숭배자와 다름없는 탐욕스러운 사람은 그리스도와 하나님의 나라에서 받을 유업이 없습니다.
6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience.Let no man deceive you with empty words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience.누구도 헛된 말로 여러분을 속이지 못하게 하십시오. 이런 일들 때문에 하나님의 진노가 불순종의 자녀들에게 임합니다.
7 Therefore don’t be partakers with them.Be not ye therefore partakers with them;그러므로 그들과 함께 어울리지 마십시오.
8 For you were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord. Walk as children of light,for ye were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord: walk as children of light여러분이 전에는 어둠이었으나, 이제는 주 안에서 빛입니다. 그러니 빛의 자녀답게 행하십시오.
9 for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth,( for the fruit of the light is in all goodness and righteousness and truth),빛의 열매는 모든 선함과 의로움과 진실함에 있습니다.
10 proving what is well pleasing to the Lord.proving what is well-pleasing unto the Lord;그렇게 함으로써 무엇이 주님을 기쁘시게 하는지 분별하십시오.
11 Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them.and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them;열매 없는 어둠의 일에 끼어들지 말고, 오히려 그것을 책망하십시오.
12 For it is a shame even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.for the things which are done by them in secret it is a shame even to speak of.그들이 은밀하게 행하는 일들은 말하기조차 부끄러운 것이기 때문입니다.
13 But all things, when they are reproved, are revealed by the light, for everything that reveals is light.But all things when they are reproved are made manifest by the light: for everything that is made manifest is light.그러나 모든 것은 책망을 받으면 빛으로 말미암아 드러나니, 드러나게 하는 모든 것은 빛이기 때문입니다.
14 Therefore he says, “ Awake, you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”Wherefore he saith, Awake, thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine upon thee.그러므로 그분이 말씀하십니다. "잠자는 자여, 깨어나라. 죽은 자들 가운데서 일어나라. 그리하면 그리스도께서 너를 비추시리라."
15 Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise,Look therefore carefully how ye walk, not as unwise, but as wise;그러므로 여러분이 어떻게 행하는지 신중하게 살피십시오. 어리석은 사람처럼 살지 말고 지혜로운 사람처럼 사십시오.
16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.redeeming the time, because the days are evil.세월을 아끼십시오. 때가 악하기 때문입니다.
17 Therefore, don’ t be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.Wherefore be ye not foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.그러므로 어리석은 사람이 되지 말고, 주님의 뜻이 무엇인지 깨달으십시오.
18 Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,And be not drunken with wine, wherein is riot, but be filled with the Spirit;술에 취하지 마십시오. 거기에는 방탕함이 있습니다. 오히려 성령으로 충만하십시오.
19 speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;speaking one to another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord;시와 찬송과 신령한 노래로 서로 화답하며, 마음으로 주님께 노래하고 찬양하십시오.
20 giving thanks always concerning all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;giving thanks always for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;우리 주 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 모든 일에 대하여 늘 하나님 아버지께 감사하십시오.
21 subjecting yourselves to one another in the fear of Christ.subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ.그리스도를 경외하는 마음으로 서로 복종하십시오.
22 Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord.Wives, be in subjection unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.아내 된 이들이여, 주님께 하듯이 자기 남편에게 복종하십시오.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body.For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, being himself the saviour of the body.남편은 아내의 머리이니, 이는 그리스도께서 교회의 머리이시며 친히 그 몸의 구주이신 것과 같습니다.
24 But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything.But as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their husbands in everything.교회가 그리스도께 복종하듯이, 아내들도 모든 일에 자기 남편에게 복종하십시오.
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for her,Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it;남편 된 이들이여, 그리스도께서 교회를 사랑하셔서 그것을 위해 자기 자신을 내어 주신 것처럼 여러분의 아내를 사랑하십시오.
26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word,그리스도께서 그렇게 하신 것은 말씀으로 물을 씻어 교회를 깨끗하게 하시고 거룩하게 하시려는 것이었으며,
27 that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without defect.that he might present the church to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.또한 점이나 주름이나 그 밖의 어떤 흠도 없이 영광스러운 모습으로 교회를 자기 앞에 세우시려는 것이었으니, 곧 교회를 거룩하고 흠 없게 하시려는 것이었습니다.
28 Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his own wife loveth himself:이와 같이 남편들도 자기 아내를 자기 몸처럼 사랑해야 합니다. 자기 아내를 사랑하는 사람은 자기 자신을 사랑하는 것입니다.
29 For no man ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly,for no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as Christ also the church;누구든지 자기 몸을 미워한 사람은 없습니다. 오히려 그것을 먹이고 보살핍니다. 주님께서도 교회를 그렇게 하십니다.
30 because we are members of his body, of his flesh and bones.because we are members of his body.우리는 그분의 몸의 지체이며, 그분의 살과 뼈의 일부이기 때문입니다.
31 “ For this cause a man will leave his father and mother and will be joined to his wife. Then the two will become one flesh.”For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh."이런 까닭에 사람이 자기 부모를 떠나 자기 아내와 합하여 둘이 한 몸이 될 것이다."
32 This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and the assembly.This mystery is great: but I speak in regard of Christ and of the church.이 비밀은 큽니다. 그러나 나는 그리스도와 교회에 관하여 말하는 것입니다.
33 Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband.Nevertheless do ye also severally love each one his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she fear her husband.그러니 여러분도 각자 자기 아내를 자기 자신처럼 사랑하고, 아내도 자기 남편을 존경하도록 하십시오.
