1 I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called,I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beseech you to walk worthily of the calling wherewith ye were called,그러므로 주 안에서 갇힌 자인 나는, 여러분이 부르심을 받은 그 부르심에 합당하게 살아가기를 간곡히 권합니다.
2 with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love,with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;모든 겸손과 온유로, 오래 참음으로, 사랑 안에서 서로 용납하며,
3 being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.giving diligence to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.평화의 매는 줄로 성령이 하나 되게 하신 것을 지키기에 힘쓰십시오.
4 There is one body and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling,There is one body, and one Spirit, even as also ye were called in one hope of your calling;몸이 하나요 성령도 한 분이시니, 여러분이 부르심을 받았을 때에 그 부르심의 한 소망 안에서 부르심을 받은 것과 같습니다.
5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,one Lord, one faith, one baptism,주도 한 분이시요, 믿음도 하나요, 세례도 하나요,
6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in us all.one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all.모두의 하나님이시며 아버지도 한 분이시니, 그분은 모든 것 위에 계시고 모든 것을 통하여 일하시며 우리 모두 안에 계십니다.
7 But to each one of us, the grace was given according to the measure of the gift of Christ.But unto each one of us was the grace given according to the measure of the gift of Christ.그러나 우리 각 사람에게 그리스도께서 주시는 선물의 분량을 따라 은혜가 주어졌습니다.
8 Therefore he says, “ When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts to people.”Wherefore he saith, When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, And gave gifts unto men.그러므로 그분이 말씀하시기를, "그분이 높은 곳에 오르실 때에 사로잡혔던 자들을 사로잡으시고 사람들에게 선물을 주셨다" 하셨습니다.
9 Now this, “ He ascended”, what is it but that he also first descended into the lower parts of the earth?( Now this, He ascended, what is it but that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth?그런데 "그분이 오르셨다" 하는 것은, 그분이 또한 먼저 땅의 낮은 곳으로 내려가셨다는 것이 아니고 무엇이겠습니까?
10 He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.He that descended is the same also that ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)내려가셨던 그분이 바로 모든 하늘보다 더 높이 오르신 분이시니, 이는 그분이 모든 것을 충만하게 하시려는 것입니다.
11 He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, shepherds and teachers;And he gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;그분이 어떤 사람은 사도로, 어떤 사람은 선지자로, 어떤 사람은 복음 전하는 자로, 어떤 사람은 목자와 교사로 삼으셨습니다.
12 for the perfecting of the saints, to the work of serving, to the building up of the body of Christ,for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ:이는 성도들을 온전하게 하여 섬기는 일을 하게 하고 그리스도의 몸을 세우게 하려는 것입니다.
13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,till we all attain unto the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a fullgrown man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:마침내 우리가 다 하나님의 아들을 믿는 일과 아는 일에 하나가 되어, 온전한 사람을 이루어, 그리스도의 충만하심의 키 높이까지 자라게 됩니다.
14 that we may no longer be children, tossed back and forth and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error;that we may be no longer children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error;그리하여 우리가 더 이상 어린아이가 되지 않고, 사람들의 속임수와 간교함과 미혹의 술책으로 일어나는 온갖 교훈의 바람에 이리저리 흔들리거나 휩쓸리지 않게 됩니다.
15 but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him who is the head, Christ,but speaking truth in love, may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, even Christ;오직 사랑 안에서 진리를 말하며, 모든 면에서 자라나 머리 되신 그분 곧 그리스도에게까지 이르게 됩니다.
16 from whom all the body, being fitted and knit together through that which every joint supplies, according to the working in measure of each individual part, makes the body increase to the building up of itself in love.from whom all the body fitly framed and knit together through that which every joint supplieth, according to the working in due measure of each several part, maketh the increase of the body unto the building up of itself in love.그분에게서 온 몸이 각 마디를 통하여 공급받아 서로 연결되고 결합되며, 각 지체가 분량대로 활동함을 따라 몸이 자라나 사랑 안에서 스스로를 세워 갑니다.
17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind,This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye no longer walk as the Gentiles also walk, in the vanity of their mind,그러므로 내가 이것을 말하며 주 안에서 증언하노니, 여러분은 더 이상 이방 사람들이 살아가는 것처럼 그들의 헛된 생각으로 살지 마십시오.
18 being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their hearts.being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their heart;그들은 그 마음이 어두워졌고, 그들 속에 있는 무지와 그들 마음의 완고함 때문에 하나님의 생명에서 끊어졌습니다.
19 They, having become callous, gave themselves up to lust, to work all uncleanness with greediness.who being past feeling gave themselves up to lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.그들은 감각이 무뎌져서 자기 자신을 욕망에 내어 주어, 탐욕으로 온갖 더러운 일을 행합니다.
20 But you didn’ t learn Christ that way,But ye did not so learn Christ;그러나 여러분은 그리스도를 그렇게 배우지 않았습니다.
21 if indeed you heard him and were taught in him, even as truth is in Jesus:if so be that ye heard him, and were taught in him, even as truth is in Jesus:여러분이 참으로 그분의 말씀을 듣고 그분 안에서 가르침을 받았다면, 곧 진리가 예수 안에 있는 그대로입니다.
22 that you put away, as concerning your former way of life, the old man that grows corrupt after the lusts of deceit,that ye put away, as concerning your former manner of life, the old man, that waxeth corrupt after the lusts of deceit;곧 여러분의 옛 생활 방식에 관하여는, 속이는 욕망을 따라 썩어 가는 옛사람을 벗어 버리고,
23 and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,and that ye be renewed in the spirit of your mind,여러분의 마음의 영이 새롭게 되어,
24 and put on the new man, who in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.and put on the new man, that after God hath been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.의와 진리의 거룩함으로 하나님의 형상을 따라 지음을 받은 새사람을 입으십시오.
25 Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor, for we are members of one another.Wherefore, putting away falsehood, speak ye truth each one with his neighbor: for we are members one of another.그러므로 거짓을 버리고 각자 자기 이웃에게 진리를 말하십시오. 우리는 서로 지체이기 때문입니다.
26 “ Be angry, and don’ t sin.” Don’ t let the sun go down on your wrath,Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:"분을 내어도 죄를 짓지 마십시오." 해가 지도록 분을 품지 말며,
27 and don’ t give place to the devil.neither give place to the devil.마귀에게 틈을 주지 마십시오.
28 Let him who stole steal no more; but rather let him labor, producing with his hands something that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need.Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have whereof to give to him that hath need.도둑질하던 자는 다시는 도둑질하지 말고, 오히려 자기 손으로 선한 일을 하며 수고하여, 궁핍한 자에게 나누어 줄 것을 갖도록 하십시오.
29 Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear.Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for edifying as the need may be, that it may give grace to them that hear.더러운 말은 입 밖에 내지 말고, 오직 필요를 따라 덕을 세우는 데 좋은 말을 하여, 듣는 자들에게 은혜를 끼치게 하십시오.
30 Don’ t grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, in whom ye were sealed unto the day of redemption.하나님의 성령을 근심하게 하지 마십시오. 여러분은 그 성령 안에서 구속의 날까지 인 치심을 받았습니다.
31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice.Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and railing, be put away from you, with all malice:모든 쓴 마음과 분과 노여움과 떠드는 것과 비방하는 것을 온갖 악의와 함께 여러분에게서 버리십시오.
32 And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, even as God also in Christ forgave you.서로 친절하게 대하며 불쌍히 여기고, 하나님께서 그리스도 안에서 여러분을 용서하신 것같이 서로 용서하십시오.
