1 You were made alive when you were dead in transgressions and sins,And you did he make alive, when ye were dead through your trespasses and sins,여러분은 허물과 죄로 죽어 있었으나, 하나님께서 여러분을 살리셨습니다.
2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the children of disobedience.wherein ye once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the powers of the air, of the spirit that now worketh in the sons of disobedience;여러분은 한때 그 허물과 죄 가운데서, 이 세상의 풍조를 따라, 또 공중의 권세를 잡은 통치자, 곧 지금도 불순종의 자녀들 가운데서 일하는 영을 따라 살았습니다.
3 We also all once lived among them in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.among whom we also all once lived in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest:—우리도 다 전에는 그들 가운데서 우리 육신의 정욕을 따라 살며, 육신과 마음이 원하는 대로 행하여, 본래 다른 사람들과 마찬가지로 진노의 자녀였습니다.
4 But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us,but God, being rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,그러나 긍휼이 풍성하신 하나님께서는 우리를 사랑하신 그 크신 사랑으로 말미암아,
5 even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ — by grace you have been saved —even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ ( by grace have ye been saved ),우리가 허물로 죽어 있을 때에도 그리스도와 함께 우리를 살려 주셨습니다. 여러분은 은혜로 구원을 받았습니다.
6 and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus:또 하나님께서는 그리스도 예수 안에서 우리를 그분과 함께 일으키시고, 함께 하늘에 앉게 하셨습니다.
7 that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus;that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus:이는 그리스도 예수 안에서 우리에게 베푸신 그 자비로, 다가오는 모든 시대에 넘치도록 풍성한 그분의 은혜를 보이시려는 것입니다.
8 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;여러분은 은혜로 인하여 믿음으로 구원을 받았습니다. 이것은 여러분 자신에게서 난 것이 아니라 하나님의 선물입니다.
9 not of works, that no one would boast.not of works, that no man should glory.행위에서 난 것이 아니니, 아무도 자랑하지 못하게 하려는 것입니다.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God afore prepared that we should walk in them.우리는 하나님께서 만드신 작품이며, 선한 일을 위하여 그리스도 예수 안에서 지으심을 받았습니다. 이 선한 일은 하나님께서 미리 예비하셔서, 우리가 그 가운데 행하게 하신 것입니다.
11 Therefore remember that once you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called “uncircumcision” by that which is called “ circumcision” ( in the flesh, made by hands ),Wherefore remember, that once ye, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called Circumcision, in the flesh, made by hands;그러므로 기억하십시오. 여러분은 본래 육신으로는 이방 사람이며, 손으로 육신에 행한 이른바 할례를 받은 사람들에게 무할례자라고 불리던 자들이었습니다.
12 that you were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.that ye were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.그때에 여러분은 그리스도와 상관이 없었고, 이스라엘 백성에서 제외되었으며, 약속의 언약들에 대하여 외인이었고, 세상에서 소망도 없고 하나님도 없는 사람들이었습니다.
13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off are made near in the blood of Christ.But now in Christ Jesus ye that once were far off are made nigh in the blood of Christ.그러나 이제는 전에 멀리 있던 여러분이 그리스도 예수 안에서 그리스도의 피로 가까워졌습니다.
14 For he is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of separation,For he is our peace, who made both one, and brake down the middle wall of partition,그분은 우리의 화평이십니다. 그분은 둘을 하나로 만드시고, 그 사이를 가로막던 담을 허무셨습니다.
15 having abolished in his flesh the hostility, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man of the two, making peace,having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; that he might create in himself of the two one new man, so making peace;그분은 자기 육체로 원수 된 것, 곧 규례로 된 계명의 율법을 폐하셨으니, 이는 그 둘을 자기 안에서 하나의 새 사람으로 지어 화평을 이루시려는 것이었습니다.
16 and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, having killed the hostility through it.and might reconcile them both in one body unto God through the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:또 십자가로 그 둘을 한 몸으로 하나님과 화목하게 하시고, 그 원수 된 것을 십자가로 소멸하셨습니다.
17 He came and preached peace to you who were far off and to those who were near.and he came and preached peace to you that were far off, and peace to them that were nigh:그분이 오셔서 멀리 있던 여러분에게도 화평을 전하시고, 가까이 있던 사람들에게도 화평을 전하셨습니다.
18 For through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.for through him we both have our access in one Spirit unto the Father.이는 그분으로 말미암아 우리 둘이 다 한 성령 안에서 아버지께 나아갈 수 있게 되었기 때문입니다.
19 So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and of the household of God,So then ye are no more strangers and sojourners, but ye are fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the household of God,그러므로 이제 여러분은 더 이상 외인이나 나그네가 아니라, 성도들과 함께 시민이요, 하나님의 가족입니다.
20 being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief cornerstone;being built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief corner stone;여러분은 사도들과 선지자들의 터 위에 세워졌으며, 그리스도 예수께서 친히 그 모퉁잇돌이 되십니다.
21 in whom the whole building, fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord;in whom each several building, fitly framed together, groweth into a holy temple in the Lord;그분 안에서 건물 전체가 서로 연결되어, 주 안에서 거룩한 성전으로 자라 갑니다.
22 in whom you also are built together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.in whom ye also are builded together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.여러분도 그분 안에서 함께 세워져, 성령 안에서 하나님이 거하실 처소가 되어 갑니다.
