1 For this cause I, Paul, am the prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles,For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus in behalf of you Gentiles,—이런 까닭에 나 바울은 이방 사람인 여러분을 위하여 그리스도 예수의 갇힌 자가 되었습니다.
2 if it is so that you have heard of the administration of that grace of God which was given me toward you,if so be that ye have heard of the dispensation of that grace of God which was given me to you-ward;여러분을 위하여 하나님께서 내게 주신 그 은혜의 경영을 여러분도 들었을 줄 압니다.
3 how that by revelation the mystery was made known to me, as I wrote before in few words,how that by revelation was made known unto me the mystery, as I wrote before in few words,곧 내가 앞서 간략하게 적은 대로, 하나님께서 계시로 그 비밀을 내게 알려 주셨습니다.
4 by which, when you read, you can perceive my understanding in the mystery of Christ,whereby, when ye read, ye can perceive my understanding in the mystery of Christ;여러분이 그 글을 읽으면, 그리스도의 비밀에 관한 나의 깨달음을 헤아릴 수 있을 것입니다.
5 which in other generations was not made known to the children of men, as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit,which in other generations was not made known unto the sons of men, as it hath now been revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit;이 비밀은 다른 세대에는 사람의 아들들에게 알려지지 않았으나, 이제는 성령으로 그분의 거룩한 사도들과 선지자들에게 계시되었습니다.
6 that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of his promise in Christ Jesus through the Good News,to wit, that the Gentiles are fellow-heirs, and fellow-members of the body, and fellow-partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel,곧 이방 사람들이 복음을 통하여 그리스도 예수 안에서 함께 상속받는 자가 되고, 함께 한 몸의 지체가 되며, 그분의 약속에 함께 참여하는 자가 되는 것입니다.
7 of which I was made a servant according to the gift of that grace of God which was given me according to the working of his power.whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of that grace of God which was given me according to the working of his power.나는 하나님께서 그분의 능력의 역사를 따라 내게 주신 그 은혜의 선물을 따라 이 복음의 일꾼이 되었습니다.
8 To me, the very least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach unto the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;모든 성도 가운데 가장 작은 자보다 더 작은 나에게 이 은혜를 주신 것은, 그리스도의 헤아릴 수 없는 풍성함을 이방 사람들에게 전하게 하시려는 것이며,
9 and to make all men see what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God, who created all things through Jesus Christ,and to make all men see what is the dispensation of the mystery which for ages hath been hid in God who created all things;또한 만물을 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 창조하신 하나님 안에 오랜 세대 동안 감추어졌던 그 비밀의 경영이 어떤 것인지를 모든 사람에게 밝히 보이시려는 것입니다.
10 to the intent that now through the assembly the manifold wisdom of God might be made known to the principalities and the powers in the heavenly places,to the intent that now unto the principalities and the powers in the heavenly places might be made known through the church the manifold wisdom of God,이는 이제 교회를 통하여 하늘에 있는 통치자들과 권세자들에게 하나님의 여러 갈래로 나타나는 지혜를 알리시려는 것이니,
11 according to the eternal purpose which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.according to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:이것은 하나님께서 우리 주 그리스도 예수 안에서 이루신 영원한 뜻을 따른 것입니다.
12 In him we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him.in whom we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him.우리는 그분 안에서, 그분을 믿는 믿음으로 말미암아 담대함과 확신 있는 나아감을 얻었습니다.
13 Therefore I ask that you may not lose heart at my troubles for you, which are your glory.Wherefore I ask that ye may not faint at my tribulations for you, which are your glory.그러므로 내가 여러분을 위하여 받는 환난 때문에 여러분이 낙심하지 말기를 부탁합니다. 이 환난은 곧 여러분의 영광입니다.
14 For this cause, I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father,이런 까닭에 나는 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 아버지 앞에 무릎을 꿇습니다.
15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named,from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named,하늘과 땅에 있는 모든 족속이 그분에게서 이름을 받았습니다.
16 that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that you may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner person,that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that ye may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man;아버지께서 그분의 영광의 풍성함을 따라, 그분의 성령으로 말미암아 여러분의 속사람을 능력으로 강건하게 하여 주시기를 빕니다.
17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, to the end that you, being rooted and grounded in love,that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,또한 믿음으로 말미암아 그리스도께서 여러분의 마음에 거하시고, 여러분이 사랑 안에 뿌리를 박고 터를 잡아,
18 may be strengthened to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and height and depth,may be strong to apprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,모든 성도와 함께 그 너비와 길이와 높이와 깊이가 어떠한지를 깨달을 힘을 얻고,
19 and to know Christ’s love which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.and to know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge, that ye may be filled unto all the fulness of God.지식을 뛰어넘는 그리스도의 사랑을 알아, 하나님의 모든 충만하심으로 충만하게 되기를 빕니다.
20 Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,우리 안에서 역사하시는 능력을 따라 우리가 구하거나 생각하는 모든 것보다 더 넘치도록 능히 행하실 수 있는 분께,
21 to him be the glory in the assembly and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.unto him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus unto all generations for ever and ever. Amen.교회 안에서와 그리스도 예수 안에서 대대로 영원무궁토록 영광이 있기를 바랍니다. 아멘.
