1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, to the saints who are at Ephesus, and the faithful in Christ Jesus:Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, to the saints that are at Ephesus, and the faithful in Christ Jesus:하나님의 뜻을 따라 그리스도 예수의 사도가 된 바울은, 에베소에 있는 성도들 곧 그리스도 예수 안에서 신실한 이들에게 이 편지를 씁니다.
2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.우리 아버지 하나님과 주 예수 그리스도께서 주시는 은혜와 평강이 여러분에게 있기를 바랍니다.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ:우리 주 예수 그리스도의 하나님이시며 아버지께 찬송을 드립니다. 그분은 그리스도 안에서 하늘에 속한 모든 신령한 복으로 우리에게 복을 주셨습니다.
4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without defect before him in love,even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blemish before him in love:곧 하나님께서는 세상이 창조되기 전에 그리스도 안에서 우리를 택하셔서, 우리가 사랑 안에서 그분 앞에 거룩하고 흠 없는 사람이 되게 하셨습니다.
5 having predestined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his desire,having foreordained us unto adoption as sons through Jesus Christ unto himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,하나님께서는 자신의 기뻐하시는 뜻을 따라, 예수 그리스도를 통해 우리를 미리 정하셔서 자신의 자녀로 삼으셨습니다.
6 to the praise of the glory of his grace, by which he freely gave us favor in the Beloved.to the praise of the glory of his grace, which he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved:이는 사랑하시는 아들 안에서 우리에게 거저 베풀어 주신 그분의 영광스러운 은혜를 찬송하게 하시려는 것입니다.
7 In him we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his gracein whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,우리는 그리스도 안에서 그분의 피로 말미암아 구속 곧 우리 죄의 용서를 받았으니, 이는 하나님의 풍성한 은혜를 따른 것입니다.
8 which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,하나님께서는 이 은혜를 모든 지혜와 총명으로 우리에게 넘치게 하셨습니다.
9 making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in himmaking known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him그리고 하나님께서는 자신이 기뻐하시는 뜻을 따라, 그리스도 안에서 정하신 그 뜻의 비밀을 우리에게 알려 주셨습니다.
10 to an administration of the fullness of the times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens and the things on the earth, in him.unto a dispensation of the fulness of the times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens, and the things upon the earth; in him, I say,그 뜻은 때가 차서 이루어질 경륜에 따라, 하늘에 있는 것이든 땅에 있는 것이든 모든 것을 그리스도 안에서 하나로 통일하시려는 것입니다.
11 We were also assigned an inheritance in him, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who does all things after the counsel of his will,in whom also we were made a heritage, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his will;또한 우리는 그리스도 안에서 유업을 받게 되었습니다. 이는 모든 일을 자신의 뜻이 정한 대로 이루시는 분의 계획을 따라 미리 정해진 것입니다.
12 to the end that we should be to the praise of his glory, we who had before hoped in Christ.to the end that we should be unto the praise of his glory, we who had before hoped in Christ:이는 먼저 그리스도께 소망을 둔 우리가 그분의 영광을 찬송하게 하시려는 것입니다.
13 In him you also, having heard the word of the truth, the Good News of your salvation — in whom, having also believed, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,in whom ye also, having heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your salvation,— in whom, having also believed, ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,여러분도 진리의 말씀 곧 여러분의 구원의 복음을 듣고 그리스도 안에서 믿었으므로, 약속하신 성령으로 인 치심을 받았습니다.
14 who is a pledge of our inheritance, to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of his glory.which is an earnest of our inheritance, unto the redemption of God’s own possession, unto the praise of his glory.이 성령은 우리가 받을 유업의 보증이시며, 하나님께서 자기 소유로 삼으신 백성을 구속하셔서 그분의 영광을 찬송하게 하시려는 것입니다.
15 For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you and the love which you have toward all the saints,For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you, and the love which ye show toward all the saints,그러므로 나도 주 예수를 향한 여러분의 믿음과 모든 성도를 향한 여러분의 사랑을 전해 듣고,
16 don’ t cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers,cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;여러분을 위해 끊임없이 감사하며 기도할 때마다 여러분을 기억합니다.
17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him,that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him;우리 주 예수 그리스도의 하나님, 영광의 아버지께서 여러분에게 지혜와 계시의 영을 주셔서, 여러분이 그분을 알게 하시기를 빕니다.
18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,having the eyes of your heart enlightened, that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,또한 여러분 마음의 눈을 밝히셔서, 그분이 부르신 소망이 무엇인지, 성도 안에서 주시는 그분의 영광스러운 유업이 얼마나 풍성한지 알게 하시기를 빕니다.
19 and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his mightand what the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might그리고 믿는 우리를 향한 그분의 능력이 얼마나 지극히 큰지를 알게 하시기를 빕니다. 이는 그분의 강한 힘이 일하시는 능력을 따른 것입니다.
20 which he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,하나님께서는 이 능력을 그리스도 안에서 일하셔서, 그분을 죽은 사람들 가운데서 일으키시고 하늘에 속한 곳에서 자기 오른편에 앉히셨습니다.
21 far above all rule, authority, power, dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come.far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:그리고 모든 통치와 권세와 능력과 주권, 그리고 이 세대뿐만 아니라 오는 세대에 일컬어질 모든 이름보다 훨씬 위에 두셨습니다.
22 He put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things for the assembly,and he put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things to the church,하나님께서는 모든 것을 그분의 발 아래 복종하게 하시고, 그분을 모든 것 위에 교회의 머리로 삼으셨습니다.
23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.교회는 그분의 몸이요, 만물 안에서 만물을 충만하게 하시는 분의 충만함입니다.
