1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother,Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother,하나님의 뜻으로 그리스도 예수의 사도가 된 바울과 우리의 형제 디모데는,
2 to the saints and faithful brothers in Christ at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.to the saints and faithful brethren in Christ that are at Colossæ: Grace to you and peace from God our Father.골로새에 있는 성도들 곧 그리스도 안에서 신실한 형제들에게 편지합니다. 우리 아버지 하나님으로부터 은혜와 평강이 여러분에게 있기를 바랍니다.
3 We give thanks to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,We give thanks to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,우리는 여러분을 위해 늘 기도하면서, 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 아버지이신 하나님께 감사를 드립니다.
4 having heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love which you have toward all the saints,having heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have toward all the saints,이는 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 여러분의 믿음과, 모든 성도를 향한 여러분의 사랑을 들었기 때문입니다.
5 because of the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the Good Newsbecause of the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel,이 믿음과 사랑은 여러분을 위해 하늘에 쌓여 있는 소망에서 나옵니다. 여러분은 그 소망에 대해, 복음의 진리의 말씀을 통해 이미 들었습니다.
6 which has come to you, even as it is in all the world and is bearing fruit and growing, as it does in you also, since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth,which is come unto you; even as it is also in all the world bearing fruit and increasing, as it doth in you also, since the day ye heard and knew the grace of God in truth;이 복음은 여러분에게 이르렀고, 또한 온 세상에서 그러하듯이 여러분 가운데서도 열매를 맺으며 자라고 있습니다. 여러분이 하나님의 은혜를 듣고 진리 가운데 깨달은 그날부터 그러했습니다.
7 even as you learned from Epaphras our beloved fellow servant, who is a faithful servant of Christ on your behalf,even as ye learned of Epaphras our beloved fellow-servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on our behalf,여러분은 이 복음을 우리의 사랑하는 동료 종 에바브라에게서 배웠습니다. 그는 우리를 대신하여 일하는 그리스도의 신실한 일꾼이며,
8 who also declared to us your love in the Spirit.who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.여러분이 성령 안에서 가진 사랑을 우리에게 알려 준 사람입니다.
9 For this cause, we also, since the day we heard this, don’ t cease praying and making requests for you, that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray and make request for you, that ye may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,그러므로 우리도 이 소식을 들은 날부터, 여러분을 위해 기도하며 구하는 일을 그치지 않습니다. 곧 여러분이 모든 영적인 지혜와 깨달음 가운데 하나님의 뜻을 아는 지식으로 충만해지기를 구합니다.
10 that you may walk worthily of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God,to walk worthily of the Lord unto all pleasing, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;이는 여러분이 주께 합당하게 살아 모든 일에서 주를 기쁘시게 하고, 모든 선한 일에서 열매를 맺으며, 하나님을 아는 지식에서 자라기를 바라는 것입니다.
11 strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, for all endurance and perseverance with joy,strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, unto all patience and longsuffering with joy;또한 그분의 영광의 능력을 따라 모든 능력으로 강건하게 되어, 기쁨으로 모든 것을 견디고 오래 참기를 구합니다.
12 giving thanks to the Father, who made us fit to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light,giving thanks unto the Father, who made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light;그리고 빛 가운데 있는 성도의 유업에 우리가 참여하기에 합당하게 하신 아버지께 감사하기를 바랍니다.
13 who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love,who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love;아버지께서는 우리를 어둠의 권세에서 건져 내시고, 그분이 사랑하시는 아들의 나라로 옮기셨습니다.
14 in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins.in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins:우리는 그 아들 안에서 구속 곧 우리 죄의 용서를 받았습니다.
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation;그분은 보이지 않는 하나님의 형상이시며, 모든 피조물보다 먼저 나신 분입니다.
16 For by him all things were created in the heavens and on the earth, visible things and invisible things, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things have been created through him and for him.for in him were all things created, in the heavens and upon the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and unto him;이는 그분으로 말미암아 만물이 창조되었기 때문입니다. 하늘과 땅에 있는 것들, 보이는 것들과 보이지 않는 것들, 왕좌든 주권이든 통치자든 권세든 모든 것이 그분을 통해, 또 그분을 위해 창조되었습니다.
17 He is before all things, and in him all things are held together.and he is before all things, and in him all things consist.그분은 만물보다 먼저 계시며, 만물이 그분 안에서 함께 서 있습니다.
18 He is the head of the body, the assembly, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things he might have the preeminence.And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.그분은 몸 곧 교회의 머리이십니다. 그분은 시작이시요 죽은 자들 가운데서 먼저 나신 분이시니, 이는 모든 일에서 그분이 으뜸이 되시려는 것입니다.
19 For all the fullness was pleased to dwell in him,For it was the good pleasure of the Father that in him should all the fulness dwell;이는 모든 충만이 그분 안에 거하기를 기뻐하셨기 때문입니다.
20 and through him to reconcile all things to himself by him, whether things on the earth or things in the heavens, having made peace through the blood of his cross.and through him to reconcile all things unto himself, having made peace through the blood of his cross; through him, I say, whether things upon the earth, or things in the heavens.또한 그분을 통하여 만물을 자기와 화목하게 하시되, 땅에 있는 것이든 하늘에 있는 것이든, 그분의 십자가의 피로 화평을 이루셨습니다.
21 You, being in past times alienated and enemies in your mind in your evil deeds,And you, being in time past alienated and enemies in your mind in your evil works,여러분도 전에는 악한 행실로 마음에서 멀어져 하나님과 원수가 되었으나,
22 yet now he has reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and without defect and blameless before him,yet now hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and without blemish and unreproveable before him:이제는 하나님께서 그분의 육신의 몸으로 죽으심을 통해 여러분을 화목하게 하셨습니다. 이는 여러분을 거룩하고 흠 없고 책망할 것이 없는 모습으로 자기 앞에 세우시려는 것입니다.
23 if it is so that you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the Good News which you heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, of which I, Paul, was made a servant.if so be that ye continue in the faith, grounded and stedfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel which ye heard, which was preached in all creation under heaven; whereof I Paul was made a minister.다만 여러분이 믿음에 거하여 터 위에 굳게 서서, 여러분이 들은 복음의 소망에서 흔들려 떠나지 않아야 합니다. 이 복음은 하늘 아래 모든 피조물에게 전파되고 있으며, 나 바울은 이 복음의 일꾼이 되었습니다.
24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and fill up on my part that which is lacking of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the assembly,Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and fill up on my part that which is lacking of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church;이제 나는 여러분을 위해 받는 고난을 기뻐합니다. 그리고 그리스도의 남은 고난을 그분의 몸 곧 교회를 위해 내 육체에 채웁니다.
25 of which I was made a servant according to the stewardship of God which was given me toward you to fulfill the word of God,whereof I was made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which was given me to you-ward, to fulfil the word of God,나는 여러분을 위해 하나님께서 내게 맡기신 직분을 따라 이 교회의 일꾼이 되었으니, 이는 하나님의 말씀을 이루기 위함입니다.
26 the mystery which has been hidden for ages and generations. But now it has been revealed to his saints,even the mystery which hath been hid for ages and generations: but now hath it been manifested to his saints,이 말씀은 여러 시대와 세대 동안 감추어져 있던 비밀이었으나, 이제는 그분의 성도들에게 드러났습니다.
27 to whom God was pleased to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:하나님께서는 이방 사람 가운데 있는 이 비밀의 영광이 얼마나 풍성한지를 그들에게 알리기를 기뻐하셨습니다. 이 비밀은 곧 여러분 안에 계신 그리스도시니, 영광의 소망이십니다.
28 We proclaim him, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus;whom we proclaim, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ;우리는 이 그리스도를 전합니다. 모든 사람을 권면하고 모든 지혜로 모든 사람을 가르치는 것은, 각 사람을 그리스도 안에서 온전한 자로 세우려는 것입니다.
29 for which I also labor, striving according to his working, which works in me mightily.whereunto I labor also, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.이를 위해 나도 수고하며, 내 안에서 강력하게 역사하시는 그분의 능력을 따라 힘써 애씁니다.
