1 If then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God.If then ye were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God.그러므로 여러분이 그리스도와 함께 다시 살아났다면, 위에 있는 것들을 추구하십시오. 그곳에는 그리스도께서 하나님의 오른편에 앉아 계십니다.
2 Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth.Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth.위에 있는 것들에 마음을 두고, 땅에 있는 것들에 두지 마십시오.
3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.For ye died, and your life is hid with Christ in God.여러분은 이미 죽었고, 여러분의 생명은 그리스도와 함께 하나님 안에 감추어져 있기 때문입니다.
4 When Christ, our life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory.When Christ, who is our life, shall be manifested, then shall ye also with him be manifested in glory.우리의 생명이신 그리스도께서 나타나실 때, 여러분도 그분과 함께 영광 가운데 나타날 것입니다.
5 Put to death therefore your members which are on the earth: sexual immorality, uncleanness, depraved passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.Put to death therefore your members which are upon the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry;그러므로 땅에 속한 여러분의 지체들을 죽이십시오. 곧 음행과 더러움과 타락한 정욕과 악한 욕망과 탐욕인데, 탐욕은 곧 우상 숭배입니다.
6 For these things’ sake the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience.for which things’ sake cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience:이런 것들 때문에 불순종하는 자녀들에게 하나님의 진노가 임합니다.
7 You also once walked in those, when you lived in them,wherein ye also once walked, when ye lived in these things;여러분도 전에 그런 것들 가운데 살았을 때에는 그 길로 걸었습니다.
8 but now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth.but now do ye also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, railing, shameful speaking out of your mouth:그러나 이제는 여러분도 그 모든 것을 벗어 버리십시오. 곧 분노와 격분과 악의와 비방과 여러분의 입에서 나오는 부끄러운 말입니다.
9 Don’ t lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings,lie not one to another; seeing that ye have put off the old man with his doings,서로 거짓말하지 마십시오. 여러분은 이미 옛 사람과 그 행위를 벗어 버렸고,
10 and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator,and have put on the new man, that is being renewed unto knowledge after the image of him that created him:새 사람을 입었으니, 이 새 사람은 자기를 창조하신 분의 형상을 따라 지식 가운데 새로워지고 있습니다.
11 where there can’ t be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondservant, or free person; but Christ is all, and in all.where there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondman, freeman; but Christ is all, and in all.거기에는 그리스인이나 유대인이나, 할례를 받은 사람이나 받지 않은 사람이나, 야만인이나 스구디아인이나, 종이나 자유인이나 차별이 있을 수 없습니다. 오직 그리스도께서 모든 것이시며 모든 것 안에 계십니다.
12 Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance;Put on therefore, as God’s elect, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, longsuffering;그러므로 하나님께 택함받은 사람들, 거룩하고 사랑받는 사람들답게 긍휼의 마음과 친절과 겸손과 온유와 오래 참음을 입으십시오.
13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man have a complaint against any; even as the Lord forgave you, so also do ye:서로 용납하고, 누가 누구에게 불만이 있더라도 서로 용서하십시오. 그리스도께서 여러분을 용서하신 것처럼 여러분도 그렇게 하십시오.
14 Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection.and above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness.이 모든 것 위에 사랑을 더하십시오. 사랑은 온전하게 묶어 주는 띠입니다.
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful.And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to the which also ye were called in one body; and be ye thankful.그리고 하나님의 평화가 여러분의 마음을 다스리게 하십시오. 여러분은 한 몸으로 이 평화로 부르심을 받았습니다. 또한 감사하는 사람이 되십시오.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord.Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts unto God.그리스도의 말씀이 여러분 안에 풍성히 거하게 하십시오. 온갖 지혜로 서로 가르치고 권면하며, 시와 찬송과 영적인 노래로 마음에 은혜를 품고 주께 노래하십시오.
17 Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.And whatsoever ye do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.무엇을 하든지 말로나 행동으로나 모든 것을 주 예수의 이름으로 하고, 그분을 통하여 하나님 아버지께 감사하십시오.
18 Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.아내들이여, 주 안에서 마땅한 대로 남편에게 순종하십시오.
19 Husbands, love your wives, and don’ t be bitter against them.Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.남편들이여, 아내를 사랑하고 그들에게 모질게 굴지 마십시오.
20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord.Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing in the Lord.자녀들이여, 모든 일에 부모에게 순종하십시오. 이것이 주를 기쁘시게 하는 일입니다.
21 Fathers, don’ t provoke your children, so that they won’ t be discouraged.Fathers, provoke not your children, that they be not discouraged.아버지들이여, 자녀를 노엽게 하지 마십시오. 그들이 낙심하지 않게 하려는 것입니다.
22 Servants, obey in all things those who are your masters according to the flesh, not just when they are looking, as men pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing God.Servants, obey in all things them that are your masters according to the flesh; not with eye-service, as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing the Lord:종들이여, 모든 일에 육신의 주인에게 순종하되, 사람을 기쁘게 하려는 자처럼 눈가림으로만 하지 말고, 진실한 마음으로 하나님을 두려워하며 하십시오.
23 And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,whatsoever ye do, work heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men;무엇을 하든지 사람을 위해서가 아니라 주를 위하여 하듯이 마음을 다해 일하십시오.
24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.knowing that from the Lord ye shall receive the recompense of the inheritance: ye serve the Lord Christ.여러분은 주께로부터 유업의 상을 받을 줄을 알기 때문입니다. 여러분은 주 그리스도를 섬기고 있습니다.
25 But he who does wrong will receive again for the wrong that he has done, and there is no partiality.For he that doeth wrong shall receive again for the wrong that he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.그러나 불의를 행하는 사람은 자기가 행한 그 불의에 대해 되받을 것이니, 거기에는 차별이 없습니다.
