2 before the appointed time when the day passes as the chaff, before the fierce anger of Yahweh comes on you, before the day of Yahweh’s anger comes on you.before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of Jehovah come upon you, before the day of Jehovah’s anger come upon you.정해진 때가 이르기 전에, 그날이 겨와 같이 지나가 버리기 전에, 여호와의 맹렬한 진노가 너희에게 닥치기 전에, 여호와의 진노의 날이 너희에게 임하기 전에 모이라.
3 Seek Yahweh, all you humble of the land, who have kept his ordinances. Seek righteousness. Seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden in the day of Yahweh’s anger.Seek ye Jehovah, all ye meek of the earth, that have kept his ordinances; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye will be hid in the day of Jehovah’s anger.여호와의 규례를 지켜 온, 이 땅의 모든 겸손한 자들아, 여호와를 찾으라. 의를 구하라. 겸손을 구하라. 그리하면 여호와의 진노의 날에 너희가 혹시 숨겨질 수 있으리라.

5 Woe to the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! Yahweh’s word is against you, Canaan, the land of the Philistines. I will destroy you until there is no inhabitant.Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea-coast, the nation of the Cherethites! The word of Jehovah is against you, O Canaan, the land of the Philistines; I will destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant.해변에 사는 자들아, 그렛 사람의 민족아, 너희에게 화가 있으리라. 블레셋 사람의 땅 가나안아, 여호와의 말씀이 너희를 거스른다. 내가 너를 멸하여 주민이 하나도 남지 않게 하리라.
6 The sea coast will be pastures, with cottages for shepherds and folds for flocks.And the sea-coast shall be pastures, with cottages for shepherds and folds for flocks.해변은 목초지가 되어 목자들의 오두막과 양 떼의 우리가 들어설 것이다.
7 The coast will be for the remnant of the house of Judah. They will find pasture. In the houses of Ashkelon, they will lie down in the evening, for Yahweh, their God, will visit them and restore them.And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed their flocks thereupon; in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening; for Jehovah their God will visit them, and bring back their captivity.그 해안은 유다 집안의 남은 자들의 차지가 되리니, 그들이 거기서 양 떼를 먹일 것이다. 그들이 저녁에 아스글론의 집들에 누우리라. 그들의 하나님 여호와께서 그들을 돌보시고 그들을 회복시키실 것이기 때문이다.
8 I have heard the reproach of Moab and the insults of the children of Ammon, with which they have reproached my people and magnified themselves against their border.I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of Ammon, wherewith they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against their border.내가 모압의 비방과 암몬 자손의 모욕을 들었노라. 그들이 그것으로 내 백성을 비방하고 그들의 영토를 넘보며 스스로를 높였다.
9 Therefore, as I live, says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, surely Moab will be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, a possession of nettles and salt pits, and a perpetual desolation. The remnant of my people will plunder them, and the survivors of my nation will inherit them.Therefore as I live, saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, a possession of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall make a prey of them, and the remnant of my nation shall inherit them.그러므로 만군의 여호와, 이스라엘의 하나님이 말한다. 내가 살아 있음을 두고 맹세하노니, 진실로 모압은 소돔같이, 암몬 자손은 고모라같이 될 것이다. 가시덤불과 소금 구덩이가 차지하는 곳, 영원한 황무지가 되리라. 내 백성의 남은 자들이 그들을 약탈하고, 내 민족의 살아남은 자들이 그들을 차지하리라.

11 Yahweh will be awesome to them, for he will famish all the gods of the land. Men will worship him, everyone from his place, even all the shores of the nations.Jehovah will be terrible unto them; for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the nations.여호와께서 그들에게 두려운 분이 되시리니, 그분이 이 땅의 모든 신들을 굶주려 사라지게 하실 것이다. 사람들이 저마다 자기 처소에서, 이방의 모든 해안에서까지 그분께 경배하리라.
12 You Cushites also, you will be killed by my sword.Ye Ethiopians also, ye shall be slain by my sword.너희 구스 사람들아, 너희도 내 칼에 죽임을 당하리라.

14 Herds will lie down in the middle of her, all kinds of animals. Both the pelican and the porcupine will lodge in its capitals. Their calls will echo through the windows. Desolation will be in the thresholds, for he has laid bare the cedar beams.And herds shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the pelican and the porcupine shall lodge in the capitals thereof; their voice shall sing in the windows; desolation shall be in the thresholds: for he hath laid bare the cedar-work.가축 떼가 그 가운데 누우며 온갖 들짐승이 거기 모일 것이다. 사다새와 고슴도치가 그 기둥머리에 깃들고, 그것들의 울음소리가 창문으로 메아리치리라. 문지방에는 황폐함이 있으리니, 그분이 백향목 들보를 드러내 버리셨기 때문이다.
15 This is the joyous city that lived carelessly, that said in her heart, “ I am, and there is no one besides me.” How she has become a desolation, a place for animals to lie down in! Everyone who passes by her will hiss and shake their fists.This is the joyous city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none besides me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag his hand.이곳이 바로 안일하게 살며 마음속으로 "오직 나뿐이요, 나 외에는 아무도 없다" 하던 그 기뻐 들뜬 도성이다. 어찌하여 그곳이 짐승들이 눕는 황무지가 되었는가! 지나가는 자마다 비웃으며 주먹을 휘두르리라.
