Titus 1장

1 Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s chosen ones and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,하나님의 종이며 예수 그리스도의 사도인 나 바울은, 하나님께서 택하신 사람들의 믿음과 경건에 이르게 하는 진리의 지식을 위하여 부르심을 받았습니다.

2 in hope of eternal life, which God, who can’ t lie, promised before time began;in hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before times eternal;이것은 영원한 생명의 소망 안에 있는 것이며, 거짓말하지 못하시는 하나님께서 영원 전부터 약속하신 것입니다.

3 but in his own time revealed his word in the message with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God our Savior,but in his own seasons manifested his word in the message, wherewith I was intrusted according to the commandment of God our Saviour;하나님께서는 정하신 때에 그 말씀을 전파를 통하여 드러내셨고, 그 일을 나에게 맡기셨으니, 이는 우리 구주이신 하나님의 명령을 따른 것입니다.

4 to Titus, my true child according to a common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.to Titus, my true child after a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Saviour.같은 믿음을 따라 나의 참된 아들이 된 디도에게 편지합니다. 아버지 하나님과 우리 구주이신 주 예수 그리스도께서 주시는 은혜와 긍휼과 평강이 함께하기를 바랍니다.

5 I left you in Crete for this reason, that you would set in order the things that were lacking and appoint elders in every city, as I directed you —For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that were wanting, and appoint elders in every city, as I gave thee charge;내가 그대를 그레데에 남겨 둔 것은, 아직 정리되지 못한 일들을 바로잡고 내가 지시한 대로 각 성에 장로들을 세우게 하려는 것입니다.

6 if anyone is blameless, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, who are not accused of loose or unruly behavior.if any man is blameless, the husband of one wife, having children that believe, who are not accused of riot or unruly.장로는 책망할 것이 없는 사람으로서, 한 아내의 남편이며, 그 자녀들도 믿는 사람이어야 하고, 방탕하다거나 순종하지 않는다는 비난을 받지 않아야 합니다.

7 For the overseer must be blameless, as God’s steward, not self-pleasing, not easily angered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for dishonest gain;For the bishop must be blameless, as God’s steward; not self-willed, not soon angry, no brawler, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre;감독은 하나님의 청지기로서 책망할 것이 없어야 하며, 제 고집대로 하지 않고, 쉽게 화내지 않으며, 술에 빠지지 않고, 난폭하지 않으며, 부정한 이익을 탐내지 않아야 합니다.

8 but given to hospitality, a lover of good, sober minded, fair, holy, self-controlled,but given to hospitality, a lover of good, sober-minded, just, holy, self-controlled;도리어 손님을 잘 대접하고, 선한 것을 사랑하며, 신중하고, 공정하며, 거룩하고, 자기를 절제할 줄 알아야 합니다.

9 holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict those who contradict him.holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able both to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict the gainsayers.또한 가르침을 따르는 신실한 말씀을 굳게 지켜서, 바른 교훈으로 권면하고 반대하는 사람들을 깨우칠 수 있어야 합니다.

10 For there are also many unruly men, vain talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,For there are many unruly men, vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision,순종하지 않으며 헛된 말을 하고 속이는 사람들이 많은데, 특히 할례를 받은 사람들 가운데 그러합니다.

11 whose mouths must be stopped: men who overthrow whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for dishonest gain’s sake.whose mouths must be stopped; men who overthrow whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.이런 자들은 그 입을 막아야 합니다. 그들은 부정한 이익을 위하여 마땅히 가르치지 말아야 할 것을 가르쳐서 여러 집안을 송두리째 무너뜨립니다.

12 One of them, a prophet of their own, said, “ Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, and idle gluttons.”One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, idle gluttons.그들 가운데 한 사람, 곧 그들 자신의 선지자가 이렇게 말했습니다. "그레데 사람들은 언제나 거짓말쟁이요, 악한 짐승이요, 게으른 먹보다."

13 This testimony is true. For this cause, reprove them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,This testimony is true. For which cause reprove them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,이 증언은 참됩니다. 그러므로 그대는 그들을 엄하게 꾸짖어, 그들이 믿음 안에서 온전하게 되도록 하십시오.

14 not paying attention to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.그들이 유대인의 꾸며 낸 이야기나 진리를 저버린 사람들의 명령에 귀를 기울이지 않게 하십시오.

15 To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.To the pure all things are pure: but to them that are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.깨끗한 사람들에게는 모든 것이 깨끗하지만, 더럽혀지고 믿지 않는 사람들에게는 아무것도 깨끗하지 않으니, 그들의 생각과 양심이 다 더럽혀졌기 때문입니다.

16 They profess that they know God, but by their deeds they deny him, being abominable, disobedient, and unfit for any good work.They profess that they know God; but by their works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.그들은 하나님을 안다고 말하지만, 그 행위로는 하나님을 부인합니다. 그들은 가증하고 순종하지 않으며 어떤 선한 일에도 합당하지 않은 사람들입니다.
