2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, that you may obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with his blood: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.여러분은 아버지 하나님께서 미리 아신 대로, 성령으로 거룩해져서, 예수 그리스도께 순종하고 그분의 피 뿌림을 입도록 택하심을 받았습니다. 은혜와 평강이 여러분에게 더욱 넘치기를 바랍니다.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy begat us again unto a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,우리 주 예수 그리스도의 아버지이신 하나님을 찬송합니다. 하나님께서는 그 크신 긍휼을 따라, 예수 그리스도를 죽은 사람들 가운데서 다시 살리심으로 우리를 거듭나게 하시어 살아 있는 소망을 품게 하셨습니다.
4 to an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance that doesn’t fade away, reserved in Heaven for you,unto an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,그리하여 우리는 썩지 않고 더럽혀지지 않으며 시들지 않는 유업을 받게 되었으니, 그것은 여러분을 위하여 하늘에 간직되어 있습니다.
5 who by the power of God are guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.who by the power of God are guarded through faith unto a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.여러분은 마지막 때에 나타나도록 예비된 구원을 얻기까지, 믿음을 통하여 하나님의 능력으로 보호를 받고 있습니다.
6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved in various trials,Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, ye have been put to grief in manifold trials,그러므로 여러분은 크게 기뻐합니다. 비록 지금은 잠시 동안, 부득이하게 여러 가지 시련 속에서 근심하게 될지라도 그렇습니다.
7 that the proof of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes, even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ —that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold that perisheth though it is proved by fire, may be found unto praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ:이는 여러분의 믿음을 단련하여 그 참됨이 드러나게 하려는 것입니다. 그 믿음은 불로 단련하여도 결국 없어지고 마는 금보다 훨씬 더 귀하며, 예수 그리스도께서 나타나실 때에 칭찬과 영광과 존귀에 이르게 됩니다.
8 whom, not having known, you love. In him, though now you don’t see him, yet believing, you rejoice greatly with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory,whom not having seen ye love; on whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice greatly with joy unspeakable and full of glory:여러분은 그분을 본 적이 없으나 사랑하며, 지금 그분을 보지 못하면서도 믿으며, 말로 다 할 수 없고 영광이 가득한 기쁨으로 크게 즐거워합니다.
9 receiving the result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.그것은 여러분이 믿음의 결과, 곧 영혼의 구원을 받기 때문입니다.
10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets sought and searched diligently. They prophesied of the grace that would come to you,Concerning which salvation the prophets sought and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:이 구원에 관하여는, 여러분에게 임할 은혜를 미리 말한 선지자들이 깊이 살피고 부지런히 연구하였습니다.
11 searching for who or what kind of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them pointed to when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow them.searching what time or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did point unto, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that should follow them.그들 안에 계신 그리스도의 영이 그리스도께서 받으실 고난과 그 뒤에 따를 영광을 미리 증언하실 때에, 그것이 누구를 또 어느 때를 가리키는지 그들은 살폈습니다.
12 To them it was revealed that they served not themselves, but you, in these things, which now have been announced to you through those who preached the Good News to you by the Holy Spirit sent out from heaven; which things angels desire to look into.To whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto you, did they minister these things, which now have been announced unto you through them that preached the gospel unto you by the Holy Spirit sent forth from heaven; which things angels desire to look into.그들에게는 이런 일이 자기들을 위한 것이 아니라 여러분을 위한 것임이 계시되었습니다. 이제 그 일은 하늘에서 보내신 성령으로 복음을 전한 사람들을 통하여 여러분에게 전해졌으니, 천사들도 그 일을 살펴보기를 사모합니다.
13 Therefore prepare your minds for action. Be sober, and set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ —Wherefore girding up the loins of your mind, be sober and set your hope perfectly on the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;그러므로 여러분은 마음을 가다듬어 행동할 준비를 하고, 정신을 차려, 예수 그리스도께서 나타나실 때에 여러분에게 가져다주실 은혜에 온전히 소망을 두십시오.
14 as children of obedience, not conforming yourselves according to your former lusts as in your ignorance,as children of obedience, not fashioning yourselves according to your former lusts in the time of your ignorance:여러분은 순종하는 자녀로서, 전에 알지 못하던 때에 따르던 옛 욕망에 더 이상 자신을 맞추지 마십시오.
15 but just as he who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all of your behavior,but like as he who called you is holy, be ye yourselves also holy in all manner of living;오직 여러분을 부르신 분이 거룩하신 것처럼, 여러분도 모든 행실에서 거룩한 사람이 되십시오.
16 because it is written, “ You shall be holy, for I am holy.”because it is written, Ye shall be holy; for I am holy."너희는 거룩하여라. 나는 거룩하기 때문이다"라고 기록되어 있습니다.
17 If you call on him as Father, who without respect of persons judges according to each man’s work, pass the time of your living as foreigners here in reverent fear,And if ye call on him as Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to each man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning in fear:각 사람의 행위를 따라 차별 없이 심판하시는 분을 아버지라 부른다면, 여러분이 이 땅에서 나그네로 사는 동안 두려운 마음으로 경외하며 지내십시오.
18 knowing that you were redeemed, not with corruptible things like silver or gold, from the useless way of life handed down from your fathers,knowing that ye were redeemed, not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, from your vain manner of life handed down from your fathers;여러분이 조상에게서 물려받은 헛된 삶에서 속량을 받은 것은, 은이나 금같이 썩어 없어지는 것으로 된 것이 아님을 여러분은 압니다.
19 but with precious blood, as of a lamb without blemish or spot, the blood of Christ,but with precious blood, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot, even the blood of Christ:오직 흠도 없고 점도 없는 어린양과 같으신 그리스도의 보배로운 피로 된 것입니다.
20 who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was revealed in this last age for your sake,who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was manifested at the end of the times for your sake,그리스도께서는 창세 전에 미리 정하심을 받으셨으나, 이 마지막 때에 여러분을 위하여 나타나셨습니다.
21 who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope might be in God.who through him are believers in God, that raised him from the dead, and gave him glory; so that your faith and hope might be in God.여러분은 그리스도를 통하여, 그분을 죽은 사람들 가운데서 살리시고 그분에게 영광을 주신 하나님을 믿는 사람들이 되었습니다. 그리하여 여러분의 믿음과 소망이 하나님께 있게 되었습니다.
22 Seeing you have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth through the Spirit in sincere brotherly affection, love one another from the heart fervently,Seeing ye have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth unto unfeigned love of the brethren, love one another from the heart fervently:여러분은 진리에 순종함으로 영혼을 깨끗하게 하여 거짓 없이 형제를 사랑하게 되었으니, 마음을 다하여 서로 뜨겁게 사랑하십시오.
23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God, which lives and remains forever.having been begotten again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God, which liveth and abideth.여러분이 거듭난 것은 썩어 없어질 씨로 된 것이 아니라, 살아 있고 영원히 있는 하나님의 말씀으로 썩지 않을 씨로 된 것입니다.
24 For, “ All flesh is like grass, and all of man’s glory like the flower in the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls;For, All flesh is as grass, And all the glory thereof as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower falleth:"모든 육체는 풀과 같고, 사람의 모든 영광은 풀의 꽃과 같다. 풀은 마르고 그 꽃은 떨어지지만,
25 but the Lord’ s word endures forever.” This is the word of Good News which was preached to you.But the word of the Lord abideth for ever. And this is the word of good tidings which was preached unto you.주의 말씀은 영원히 있다"라고 하였습니다. 이 말씀이 바로 여러분에게 전해진 복음의 말씀입니다.
