2 Those who have believing masters, let them not despise them because they are brothers, but rather let them serve them, because those who partake of the benefit are believing and beloved. Teach and exhort these things.And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but let them serve them the rather, because they that partake of the benefit are believing and beloved. These things teach and exhort.믿는 주인을 둔 종들은, 그 주인이 형제라는 이유로 가볍게 여기지 말고, 오히려 더 잘 섬기십시오. 그 섬김의 유익을 함께 누리는 이들이 바로 믿는 사람이며 사랑받는 사람이기 때문입니다. 그대는 이런 것들을 가르치고 권면하십시오.
3 If anyone teaches a different doctrine and doesn’ t consent to sound words, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness,If any man teacheth a different doctrine, and consenteth not to sound words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;누구든지 다른 교훈을 가르치며, 건전한 말씀 곧 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 말씀과 경건에 따른 가르침에 동의하지 않으면,
4 he is conceited, knowing nothing, but obsessed with arguments, disputes, and word battles, from which come envy, strife, insulting, evil suspicions,he is puffed up, knowing nothing, but doting about questionings and disputes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,그는 교만하여 아무것도 알지 못하면서, 논쟁과 말다툼에만 빠져 있는 사람입니다. 거기에서 시기와 다툼과 비방과 악한 의심이 생겨나고,
5 constant friction of people of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. Withdraw yourself from such.wranglings of men corrupted in mind and bereft of the truth, supposing that godliness is a way of gain.마음이 부패하고 진리를 잃어버린 사람들 사이에 끊임없는 마찰이 일어납니다. 그들은 경건을 이익을 얻는 수단으로 여기는 자들입니다. 그대는 이런 자들에게서 떠나십시오.
6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.But godliness with contentment is great gain:그러나 자족하는 마음과 함께하는 경건은 큰 이익입니다.
7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we certainly can’ t carry anything out.for we brought nothing into the world, for neither can we carry anything out;우리는 이 세상에 아무것도 가지고 오지 않았고, 또한 아무것도 가지고 떠날 수 없습니다.
8 But having food and clothing, we will be content with that.but having food and covering we shall be therewith content.그러니 먹을 것과 입을 것이 있으면 그것으로 만족하겠습니다.
9 But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation, a snare, and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction.But they that are minded to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and hurtful lusts, such as drown men in destruction and perdition.그러나 부자가 되기로 작정한 사람들은 시험과 올무와, 어리석고 해로운 여러 욕망에 빠집니다. 그것들은 사람을 파멸과 멸망 속으로 빠뜨립니다.
10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil: which some reaching after have been led astray from the faith, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.돈을 사랑하는 것이 모든 악의 뿌리입니다. 어떤 이들은 그 탐욕 때문에 믿음에서 떠나 헤매고, 많은 슬픔으로 자기 자신을 찔렀습니다.
11 But you, man of God, flee these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.그러나 하나님의 사람인 그대는 이런 것들을 피하고, 의와 경건과 믿음과 사랑과 인내와 온유를 좇으십시오.
12 Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you confessed the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.Fight the good fight of the faith, lay hold on the life eternal, whereunto thou wast called, and didst confess the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.믿음의 선한 싸움을 싸우십시오. 그대가 부르심을 받았고 많은 증인 앞에서 선한 고백을 한 그 영원한 생명을 굳게 붙잡으십시오.
13 I command you before God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who before Pontius Pilate testified the good confession,I charge thee in the sight of God, who giveth life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed the good confession;만물에 생명을 주시는 하나님 앞과, 본디오 빌라도 앞에서 선한 고백으로 증언하신 그리스도 예수 앞에서 그대에게 명합니다.
14 that you keep the commandment without spot, blameless until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,that thou keep the commandment, without spot, without reproach, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:우리 주 예수 그리스도께서 나타나실 때까지, 흠 없고 책망받을 것 없이 그 계명을 지키십시오.
15 which at the right time he will show, who is the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords.which in its own times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;때가 되면 복되시고 홀로 주권자이신 분, 곧 왕들의 왕이시며 주들의 주이신 분께서 그 나타나심을 보여 주실 것입니다.
16 He alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen nor can see, to whom be honor and eternal power. Amen.who only hath immortality, dwelling in light unapproachable; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power eternal. Amen.그분만이 죽지 않으심을 가지셨고, 가까이 갈 수 없는 빛 가운데 거하시며, 아무도 보지 못하였고 또 볼 수도 없는 분이십니다. 그분께 존귀와 영원한 권능이 있기를 빕니다. 아멘.
17 Charge those who are rich in this present age that they not be arrogant, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on the living God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy;Charge them that are rich in this present world, that they be not highminded, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;이 세상에서 부유한 사람들에게 명하십시오. 교만하지 말고, 불확실한 재물에 소망을 두지 말며, 오직 우리에게 모든 것을 풍성히 주셔서 누리게 하시는 살아 계신 하나님께 소망을 두라고 하십시오.
18 that they do good, that they be rich in good works, that they be ready to distribute, willing to share;that they do good, that they be rich in good works, that they be ready to distribute, willing to communicate;또 선을 행하고, 선한 일에 부유하며, 기꺼이 나누어 주고, 즐겨 베푸는 사람이 되라고 하십시오.
19 laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold of eternal life.laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on the life which is life indeed.그리하여 자기 자신을 위하여 장차 올 때를 대비한 좋은 기초를 쌓아, 참된 생명을 굳게 붙잡게 하십시오.
20 Timothy, guard that which is committed to you, turning away from the empty chatter and oppositions of what is falsely called knowledge,O Timothy, guard that which is committed unto thee, turning away from the profane babblings and oppositions of the knowledge which is falsely so called;디모데여, 그대에게 맡겨진 것을 잘 지키고, 헛된 잡담과 거짓되이 지식이라 불리는 것들의 반론에서 돌아서십시오.
