1 That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we saw, and our hands touched, concerning the Word of lifeThat which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we beheld, and our hands handled, concerning the Word of life태초부터 계셨던 그분, 우리가 들었고 우리 눈으로 보았으며 자세히 살펴보고 우리 손으로 만진 그분, 곧 생명의 말씀에 관하여 우리가 전합니다.
2 ( and the life was revealed, and we have seen, and testify, and declare to you the life, the eternal life, which was with the Father, and was revealed to us );( and the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare unto you the life, the eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us );이 생명이 나타나셨고, 우리는 그 생명을 보았기에 그것을 증언하며, 아버지와 함께 계시다가 우리에게 나타나신 그 영원한 생명을 여러분에게 전합니다.
3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us. Yes, and our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.that which we have seen and heard declare we unto you also, that ye also may have fellowship with us: yea, and our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ:우리가 보고 들은 그것을 여러분에게도 전하는 것은, 여러분도 우리와 함께 사귐을 누리게 하려는 것입니다. 우리의 사귐은 아버지와 함께, 그리고 그분의 아들 예수 그리스도와 함께 누리는 사귐입니다.
4 And we write these things to you, that our joy may be fulfilled.and these things we write, that our joy may be made full.우리가 이것들을 여러분에게 쓰는 것은 우리의 기쁨이 가득 차게 하려는 것입니다.
5 This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.And this is the message which we have heard from him and announce unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.우리가 그분에게서 듣고 여러분에게 전하는 소식은 이것이니, 곧 하나님은 빛이시며 그분 안에는 어둠이 조금도 없다는 것입니다.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie and don’ t tell the truth.If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:만일 우리가 그분과 사귐이 있다고 말하면서 어둠 속에서 걸어간다면, 우리는 거짓말을 하는 것이며 진리를 행하지 않는 것입니다.
7 But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanseth us from all sin.그러나 그분이 빛 가운데 계신 것처럼 우리도 빛 가운데서 걸어가면, 우리는 서로 사귐을 누리게 되고, 그분의 아들 예수 그리스도의 피가 우리를 모든 죄에서 깨끗하게 하십니다.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.만일 우리가 죄가 없다고 말한다면, 우리는 스스로를 속이는 것이며 우리 안에 진리가 없는 것입니다.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.만일 우리가 우리 죄를 자백하면, 그분은 신실하시고 의로우셔서 우리 죄를 용서하시고 우리를 모든 불의에서 깨끗하게 하십니다.
10 If we say that we haven’ t sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.만일 우리가 죄를 짓지 않았다고 말한다면, 우리는 그분을 거짓말하는 분으로 만드는 것이며 그분의 말씀이 우리 안에 없는 것입니다.
