1 “ Behold, I send my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me! The Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to his temple. Behold, the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, is coming!” says Yahweh of Armies.Behold, I send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant, whom ye desire, behold, he cometh, saith Jehovah of hosts."보아라, 내가 내 사자를 보내니, 그가 내 앞에서 길을 예비할 것이다. 너희가 찾는 주, 곧 너희가 사모하는 언약의 사자가 갑자기 자기 성전으로 오실 것이다. 보아라, 그가 오신다." 만군의 여호와께서 말씀하신다.
2 “ But who can endure the day of his coming? And who will stand when he appears? For he is like a refiner’s fire, and like launderers’ soap;But who can abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap:그러나 그가 오시는 날을 누가 견디겠으며, 그가 나타나실 때에 누가 능히 서겠느냐? 그는 제련하는 자의 불 같고, 표백하는 자의 잿물 같을 것이다.

4 Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasant to Yahweh as in the days of old and as in ancient years.Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto Jehovah, as in the days of old, and as in ancient years.그때에 유다와 예루살렘의 제물이 옛날처럼, 지난 세월처럼 여호와께 기쁨이 될 것이다.
5 I will come near to you to judgment. I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, against the adulterers, against the perjurers, and against those who oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and who deprive the foreigner of justice, and don’t fear me,” says Yahweh of Armies.And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against the false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the sojourner from his right, and fear not me, saith Jehovah of hosts."내가 심판하러 너희에게 가까이 나아가서, 점치는 자들과 간음하는 자들과 거짓 맹세하는 자들과, 품꾼의 삯을 착취하는 자들과 과부와 고아를 압제하는 자들과, 나그네의 정의를 빼앗으며 나를 두려워하지 않는 자들을 거슬러 속히 증언하는 증인이 될 것이다." 만군의 여호와께서 말씀하신다.
6 “ For I, Yahweh, don’t change; therefore you, sons of Jacob, are not consumed.For I, Jehovah, change not; therefore ye, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed."나 여호와는 변하지 않는다. 그러므로 야곱의 자손인 너희가 멸망하지 않는 것이다.
7 From the days of your fathers you have turned away from my ordinances and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says Yahweh of Armies. “ But you say, ‘ How shall we return?’From the days of your fathers ye have turned aside from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith Jehovah of hosts. But ye say, Wherein shall we return?너희 조상들의 때부터 너희가 내 규례에서 떠나 그것을 지키지 않았다. 내게로 돌아오너라. 그러면 나도 너희에게로 돌아가겠다." 만군의 여호와께서 말씀하신다. "그런데도 너희는 '우리가 어떻게 돌아가야 합니까?' 하고 말한다.
8 Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me! But you say, ‘ How have we robbed you?’ In tithes and offerings.Will a man rob God? yet ye rob me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.사람이 하나님의 것을 도둑질하겠느냐? 그런데도 너희가 나의 것을 도둑질하고 있다! 그러면서 너희는 '우리가 어떻게 주의 것을 도둑질했습니까?' 하고 말한다. 십일조와 헌물에서다.
9 You are cursed with the curse; for you rob me, even this whole nation.Ye are cursed with the curse; for ye rob me, even this whole nation.너희가 저주를 받아 저주 아래 있으니, 이는 너희 곧 온 나라가 나의 것을 도둑질하기 때문이다.
10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and test me now in this,” says Yahweh of Armies, “ if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there will not be enough room for.Bring ye the whole tithe into the store-house, that there may be food in my house, and prove me now herewith, saith Jehovah of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.너희는 온전한 십일조를 창고에 들여서, 내 집에 양식이 있게 하라. 이 일로 나를 시험해 보아라." 만군의 여호와께서 말씀하신다. "내가 하늘 문을 열고 너희에게 복을 쏟아부어, 더 둘 곳이 없을 만큼 채우지 않나 보아라.

12 “ All nations shall call you blessed, for you will be a delightful land,” says Yahweh of Armies.And all nations shall call you happy; for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith Jehovah of hosts."모든 민족이 너희를 복되다 할 것이니, 이는 너희가 기쁨의 땅이 될 것이기 때문이다." 만군의 여호와께서 말씀하신다.
13 “ Your words have been harsh against me,” says Yahweh. “ Yet you say, ‘ What have we spoken against you?’Your words have been stout against me, saith Jehovah. Yet ye say, What have we spoken against thee?"너희가 나를 거슬러 거센 말을 하였다." 여호와께서 말씀하신다. "그런데도 너희는 '우리가 주를 거슬러 무슨 말을 하였습니까?' 하고 말한다.
14 You have said, ‘ It is vain to serve God,’ and ‘ What profit is it that we have followed his instructions and that we have walked mournfully before Yahweh of Armies?Ye have said, It is vain to serve God; and what profit is it that we have kept his charge, and that we have walked mournfully before Jehovah of hosts?너희가 이렇게 말하였다. '하나님을 섬기는 것은 헛되다. 만군의 여호와 앞에서 그분의 명령을 지키고 슬프게 다닌들 무슨 유익이 있느냐?
15 Now we call the proud happy; yes, those who work wickedness are built up; yes, they tempt God, and escape.’and now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are built up; yea, they tempt God, and escape.이제 우리는 교만한 자를 복되다 한다. 그렇다, 악을 행하는 자들이 번창하고, 그들이 하나님을 시험하고도 벗어난다.'
16 Then those who feared Yahweh spoke one with another; and Yahweh listened and heard, and a book of memory was written before him for those who feared Yahweh and who honored his name.Then they that feared Jehovah spake one with another; and Jehovah hearkened, and heard, and a book of remembrance was written before him, for them that feared Jehovah, and that thought upon his name.그때에 여호와를 경외하는 자들이 서로 말하니, 여호와께서 귀 기울여 들으셨다. 그리고 여호와를 경외하며 그분의 이름을 존중하는 자들을 위하여 그분 앞에 기념하는 책이 기록되었다.
17 They shall be mine,” says Yahweh of Armies, “ my own possession in the day that I make. I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him.And they shall be mine, saith Jehovah of hosts, even mine own possession, in the day that I make; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him."그들은 나의 것이 될 것이다." 만군의 여호와께서 말씀하신다. "내가 정한 그 날에 그들은 나의 특별한 소유가 될 것이며, 사람이 자기를 섬기는 아들을 아끼듯 내가 그들을 아낄 것이다.
18 Then you shall return and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him who serves God and him who doesn’t serve him.Then shall ye return and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.그때에 너희가 돌아와서 의인과 악인을, 하나님을 섬기는 자와 섬기지 않는 자를 분별하게 될 것이다."
